    Untrustworthy Staff

    This would have been our second stay at the Hotel Valentin Imperial. We thoroughly enjoyed the first visit there. However, less than 12 hours after arriving I received news that my sister died unexpectedly and my 8 month granddaughter was being rushed to a major hospital in Boston. We checked out after the second day and asked the clerk for a bill printout. He indicated we did not need it and we were distraught and trusted him. However, when trying to collect on our travel insurance the Valentin Imperial indicated we stayed more nights than we did, causing us to lose out on thousands of dollars on trip insurance. Calls to customer service were unanswered. We sent the death certificate and alternate flight arrangements and the Valentin was not forthcoming with information. In short, watch what you are billed for the resort is not trustworthy.

    Absolute paradise.

    We are here now and absolutely love it. From the moment we entered we have had the best service. Everyone is looking out for you and making sure you’re comfortable and happy. Haven’t come across anyone miserable at all. We have only been to Cancún once before, many years ago. We have gone to Cuba for the last 20 years but we will definitely be returning to Valentin! We were surprised to learn that we were upgraded to a silver junior deluxe which is absolutely beautiful! Our room faces many trees that have coatis, monkeys and many beautiful birds. We are in paradise. The restaurants are awesome. So far my favourite is la Hacienda. Delicious. The house band is amazing. The duo in the Mexican restaurant is so good and so much fun. They sang birthday songs tonight for me and it was wonderful. All food has been amazing. Food trucks by the pool are so good. Best hamburgers ever. Good nachos too. No complaints at all!!

    Captivated

    We’ve just returned from celebrating our 50th wedding anniversary during our 13th visit at VIM. What can I say except that we are truly captivated by this place ~ so we keep coming back since discovering this hidden gem of a resort in 2007. If you’re reading through the hundreds of reviews of the Valentin, I encourage you to minimize the negative and focus on the positives! Sure, we’ve encountered some miscues along the way with some of our meals, noisy new construction, etc. Just go with realistic expectations, patience, some degree of understanding Mexican culture and you will not be disappointed! We enjoy our walks to the beach and restaurants! We only used the golf cart shuttle service for arrival and departure! The staff is truly amazing ~ Noemi in Le Marche is an incredible manager and remembers us with a friendly hug each time we return! We have stayed in ALL levels of rooms through the years. For us, we’ve concluded that since we spend so little time in our habitación that the standard Deluxe Suite meets our needs. So, if someone feels compelled to be negative about this place…as Mel Robbins would say, “Let Them!” I’ve written several more detailed reviews following our previous visits. Simply put, our annual holidays at the Valentin will continue! ¡Todo bien!

    Welcome Home for the 3rd time.

    We are coming back for our 3rd trip and can't wait. We have always LOVED the VIM above all other Places we have been. It is just a "feels like home" place. We are trying the Emerald this time. We haven't spent a lot of time at the beach in past visits, because the Pools are so fun and the GO TEAM is on Point with all the activities. We have never had anything bad , only rained for 1 full day on the 2nd trip. Everything has been wonderful. Top Notch FRIENDLY servers!!! CU in November.

    Our 10th visit to Valentin felt like coming home.

    Our 10th visit to Valentin felt like coming home. The staff is what makes this resort so special — Zyanya’s energizing TRX and yoga, Sonia’s smile and amazing poolside service, Diana and Lizbeth at Don Miguel’s with their warm hospitality, Abigail’s heartfelt welcome, Lorenzo’s high energy with the GO Team, and Michel’s genuine care. Maria, Naiomy, Isa, and Jorge also went above and beyond, remembering us and treating us like family. The grounds are beautifully maintained, full of wildlife, and the beach was well cared for. Valentin truly delivers unmatched service, which is why we keep coming back.
