The Caribbean is a melting pot of different cultures, making it one of the most diverse destinations in the world. It was important to Nicholas and Ryan, jointly known as the Never Have I Ever Guys on Instagram, to visit an LGBTQ-friendly island that embraced diversity. Curaçao’s Dutch heritage, rich history, and Caribbean flare far exceeded their expectations.
BeachBound coordinated a three-night stay at Renaissance Wind Creek Curaçao Resort for Nicholas and Ryan, plus we arranged their in-destination airport transfers and excursions for a seamless travel experience. Get a glimpse of how they spent their three days on the island:
Day 1: Arrive in Curaçao
The blogger duo (@nhieguys) is based out of Tampa, Florida, so the flight to Curaçao was about five hours in total. Curaçao is in the Southern Caribbean Sea and is only about 40 miles off the coast of Venezuela! Nicholas and Ryan were greeted by Amstar DMC, the official destination management company of BeachBound, and taken directly to their hotel for check-in.
The two of them made themselves at home and had dinner at the iconic Infinity Beach Club, located within the Renaissance Wind Creek Curaçao Resort! This dining spot is beloved for its sunset views and Mediterranean cuisine, and it was the perfect spot for Nicholas and Ryan to toast their travels.
Day 2: R&R at the resort
No trip to the beach is complete without a day of doing nothing, right? Nicholas and Ryan took their first full day in Curaçao to relax and enjoy all the on-site offerings at the resort. They ate at the internationally inspired Nautilus Restaurant and enjoyed soaking up the island sun, sipping tropical drinks by the pool, and spending time with one another.
Day 3: Wheels up in Willemstad
After a day of R&R, Nicholas and Ryan were ready to get out and explore the island and experience its cultural diversity firsthand. They took a historical tour of Willemstad, the island’s capital city, which also happens to be a UNESCO World Heritage site. But they didn’t just go on any old tour of the city–they geared up on electric scooters to explore the city!
The tour guided them through the city’s four unique districts– Otrobanda, Punda, Scharloo & Pietermaai–and stopped at top landmarks like the Queen Emma Floating Bridge, Wilhelmina Plaza, and the Governor’s Mansion. They picked up some fresh fruit smoothies to cool off and admired Willemstad's colorful murals and architecture along the way. Nicholas and Ryan noted how the island's array of colors perfectly represented just how diverse and accepting the island truly is!
That’s a wrap on Nicholas and Ryan’s island getaway! Build your own experience and visit Curaçao on your next BeachBound vacation.
