  • Pekelmeer Flamingo Sanctuary

    Bonaire's Pekelmeer Flamingo Sanctuary is one of only four designated flamingo breeding grounds in the world. Upward of 6,000 Caribbean flamingos can be seen every year during breeding season from January to July, but be sure to bring your binoculars! Tourists are not actually allowed inside the reserve, but luckily there is a great viewing point from the road above the sanctuary.

    This small, uninhabited island is about half a mile west of Bonaire's mainland is the ultimate diver's paradise. Klein Bonaire is protected from development as part of the Bonaire National Marine Park and boasts excellent water visibility and an electric underwater ecosystem.
