Not to be confused with the similar-sounding Ambergris CAYE in Belize, Ambergris Cay is located about 600 miles southeast of Miami, Florida and 100 miles north of the Dominican Republic. The island sits on the southeast corner of the string of Turks and Caicos Islands that surrounds the world-famous Caicos Banks, whose shallow turquoise blue waters and surrounding reefs are so brilliant, they can be seen from space. Just east of the island is the Grand Turk Passage that descends to nearly 7,000 ft. with ideal conditions for fishing, whale watching and wall diving.
Ambergris Cay has been a private island since its purchase in 1811 and saw little development until the late 20th century when modern infrastructure was put into place, catering to an upscale clientele looking for privacy and rustic Caribbean charm. The

My wife and I were blessed to be able to visit this island for our 25th wedding anniversary. As we researched where to go for our special occasion, we kept coming back to Ambergris. We made the right choice. Our stay was from December 14, 2024, to December 21, 2024. Ambergris Cay in Turks & Caicos is absolutely PARADISE!! No question about it. The accommodations, the food, the gym, the resort, and the activities are bar none. The waters were just ridiculous and, at times, appeared AI generated. WOW. The videos and photographs we took do not give the island justice. Here's how I have attempted to describe the island to family. Envision the clearest waters you have ever seen. Then imagine those water becoming various shades of (mind-blowing) blues and greens as far as your eyes can see. Now look down at and feel the softest, whitest sand your feet have ever stepped on/in. Finally, look around and see all the lush trees and bushes. Can you picture it? Well, what you just pictured or envisioned will not compare to this ACTUAL PARADISE!! However, as beautiful and luxurious as the island and resort are, what really took this place to the next level and off the charts is its ENTIRE STAFF. We have NEVER experienced where an entire staff went out of their way to make you feel special. Whoever vetted and hired the entire staff did an incredible job. Great eye for talent. Their sole purpose and mission was to make your stay very enjoyable. I mean every person we encountered was as beautiful of a human as we could have asked for. They all have name tags with their hometowns/country (i.e., Haiti, Dominican Republic, Grenada, India, Costa Rica, Phillapines, Jamaica, etc...). Here's a list of the people we were blessed to encounter for form - though brief - a special bond: 1. Our host: JAMES. James always greeted us with a beautiful smile. He went above and beyond to make certain we had everything we needed even before we realized it. James, thank you for your kindness and genuinely caring about our stay and happiness. 2. Our waitresses/waiters (in no particular order): EVELYN, LUIS, MIGUEL, JOSE, NICOLE, PEDRO, and FRANTZ. They are all amazing and wonderful human beings. Thank you all for your amazing service which is second to none. 3. SHANELLE: The host at Calico and Club House. Your smile is infectious. 4. Our activity guides (in no particular order): JAYSON ("HYPE"); KENO ("CASINO"); and KADEN (MR. "WHAT DID YOU SEE?"). Thank you for making our activities so amazing!! 5. Our bartenders (in no particular order): ABBI, GK, and MARVIN. Thank you all for your conversations and drinks. Some of the best I have ever had. 6. GIAN CARLOS: The on-site musician. Outstanding! Thank you all for your smiles, love, and kindness. You made our stay much, much more enjoyable and special. We really cannot thank you enough. It is because of all of you that we will definitely return. See you all soon!!

Going Cray in Ambergris Cay!
The best family vacation ever! Service was remarkable. Our personal butler, Clay was the absolute best! Our wish was his command! The food was fantastic every meal. Highly recommend a full day boat excursion with a BBQ lunch on your own private beach.

Christmas vacation
First time on any islands in Turks and Caicos and it was an amazing experience. The service here was unbeatable. It felt like we were the only ones on the island. Our villa manager, Clay, took care of literally everything we needed on the island.

Exceptional vacation
This was the most relaxing vacation I’ve ever taken. Everything about Ambergris Cay was exceptional, from the food, drinks, atmosphere and activities. The staff were beyond incredible and James was an amazing host. Definitely returning.

Great stay
We just spent 3 wonderful days in the resort. Our host James went out of his way to make our stay memorable. He was amazing and really made our short stay even more special. All the staff in the resort was very helpful and friendly. We can definitely recommend this place. We enjoyed every minute of our stay.
