Great Time!
Everything & Everyone was great! Loved that it has been remodeled; only thing missing in the rooms is a full length mirror. We where traveling with 2 other couples and the first thing we all said to each other when we meet for dinner on the fist night, we all made this comment.

Great Exuma is my Happy Place
I could not have been happier selecting this hotel. Arlene the hotel manager was a darling. So attentive and understood exactly what I was seeking for this vacation. The hotel had been updated since my last visit to the island in 2021. My first time staying at Augusta Bay. I saw it my last visit, but the updates attracted me to book my reservation this time. I have traveled to Great Exuma 3xs solo. I can say the staff was INCREDIBLE!!! Everyone was so kind and friendly. Super accommodating. My room was clean and welcoming. My view was stunning. Hotel is quiet and safe. Close to George Town and taxis come quickly upon request. While Augusta Bay doesn't have a true beach, the beaches are very close. Like 10 steps away. I walked to Jolly Hall beach every day - this is one of my favorite beaches in Great Exuma. I either walked along the beach front which is beautiful or roadside which is quicker, but the view isn't the same as walking beachfront. Only one day I ventured to Peace and Plenty beach which I took a taxi to that hotel due to the heat and sun - too hot to walk plus walking roadside can be tricky if you are uncomfortable walking long distance given the direction the cars. Upon arriving at Peace and Plenty you take a lovely boat ($30 bucks' roundtrip) ride to their beach. In previous visits I stayed at Peace and Plenty but was SUPER DUPER happier at Augusta Bay this visit. The weather was PERFECT, hot but with warm breezes. The beach water at both beaches felt like a warm bath with cool pockets. Just absolute perfection. At the beaches I saw stingrays, barracudas, colorful fish, and turtles --- no sharks this visit but previous visits saw a few small sharks, but they were nurse shark which are harmless, never bothered anyone just swam by. I have learned to obverse but not bother the fish. Stingrays are friendly and will come up to you. On Jolly Hall there is an open-air restaurant called "Cool Beach", serves local food and drinks. Each day I tried something new: conch salad, grilled grouper, best handmade cheeseburger, lobster tail with fresh veggies and fried conch over salad. This is a gem in the cut. Food is fresh and delicious. Augusta Bay hotel food was GREAT - ate there twice: had breakfast (blueberry pancakes like mom made them and bacon); dinner (fried grouper, mac & cheese and veggies - the bread pudding for dessert was so good). Drinks were yummy. Restaurant staff were the sweetest. Em head of housekeeping was AMAZING!!! She was a ray of sunshine with her warm spirit and energy. She made me feel right at home. In addition to Arlene, Em gave great recommendations of places to visit on the island. Zandy at the front desk was so adorable. Just the sweetest. I can't say enough how great the team is at Augusta Bay. Augusta Bay is close to Fish Fry which I walked to at night solo and didn't feel at risk. It was a safe walk. Had delicious food at Shirley's Restuarant. All the food stands at Fish Fry are great, I just happen to like Shirley's. Also had awesome beef patty at Frozen Treats shop in town for lunch one day. In town I did go to the grocery store to stock up on water (there are mini refrigerators in the rooms which is great for storing cold beverages and snacks) and visited the shops. Met amazing women entrepreneurs at the market in George Town. Most of the women hand make most of the bags and items. Got great gifts for family and friends. Highly recommend Augusta Bay and look forward to returning soon. Feeling rested, relaxed and recharged. The pool at Augusta Bay is great for a night swim or chill by the pool after dinner. It's not deep so you can relax with a beverage and enjoy the view because the stars and beach are magical at night. Lastly, no need to overpack. Pack light & comfy, no need for dressy dress clothing it's too hot for all of that. Plus, you will likely in your bathing suit the whole trip. Bring relaxing cute wears that are breathable. Ladies leave the heels at home. Pack your cute slides or flip flops because you will find lots of sand, rocky roads and white dust along the way. If you are looking for a party Caribbean scene Exuma is NOT your place. To me, it's the place where you want to relax and recharge OR have a romantic getaway. It's great for families too. Although, I do see August Bay more for adults (or families with teens) than families with young, young children. If you are looking for a super chill relaxing gem without all the commercial state side big name franchise brands (meaning NO KFC, Starbucks, McDonalds or those other restaurants) I highly recommend Augusta Bay in Great Exuma in the Bahamas for its genuine local feel. Support local businesses. The people of Great Exuma are so kind, friendly and welcoming. Great Exuma is my happy place.

Nice little accomodations, great location and price
Great location at a great price. My wife and I stayed here for 3 nights before we met with a larger group at the Sandals resort. Was a perfect spot to explore the island with a car rental and enjoy some time on the beach. We would definitely return here on our next visit.

Beware of kitchen dates.
Was allowed to make a reservation for dinner, and not informed of the kitchen being closed for dinner on Wednesday & Thursday. Arrived to the hotel and was met with locked doors although my reservation was confirmed & double checked. The family was celebrating a major achievement & it was my mother’s birthday, and she was left disappointed!
