Very beautiful and relaxing.
Staff was great! The food could have been better but I wasn’t there for the food. We had three great excursions. Had to learn where my preferred Vodkas was, but all good after I found them. Loved handing out at the hibiscus pool. Especially for the 2:00 get together. Fun dance classes. Which there was more volleyball participation.

Seen better days
I feel this place has gone downhill. This was my third time in 5 yrs. Stayed in bldg 8 previously this time in bldg 12. All times a swim up with a bar not far. Pool water was cold this time but ocean was fine. Not prestige so not allowed to use the beach in front of bldg 12. My room 12110, the furniture is looking old. Couch has a big tear. The tv remote did not work but maintenance was prompt in fixing. Lots of burnt out light bulbs and the hall sensor not working so cannot see to open door. Thermostat temp did not work. Would turn ac off manually when it got too cold and vice versa. Food outside of buffet not great. Chicken parm did not have enough sauce and cheese. The alfredo sauce was so salty it was inedible. The ceasar salad was basically a plate of lettuce with a dab of dressing. Would have been better on the side. The shrimp dish were salad size. The pool bars had tons of bees so if allergic Beware. Even though it is against policy people smoke cigarettes and pot on their balconies. The best part of the resort is the size, the beach, and the team members. Super helpful and nice.

Not for kids
Went to Negril Azul Beach resort with my family (4) + friends family of 6. In total we had 6 kids. This resort is ok. Not very kid friendly or much to do for them. Shows are non existent. Mostly just people singing or dancing. But there no stage no place to sit . Activities are sub par. Again nothing for kids. We were approached on the beach to play games and when we got there no kids allowed. Not once someone came to around seeing the 6 kids to play volleyball, pass the balloon or dance like they did for the adults. They did one day foam party in the pool but that's all. Royalton had it almost every day + inflatable slides and so on for kids. Food - food is sub par. All restaurants are not good. All kids didn't eat and adults weren't impressed. Every night we ended up at the buffet. Which is super small and often repeat. Lost count of how many pastas plates we had. Room.. we stayed the previous year at the Royalton Negril but this year because there couland accomodate the big family we went to Azul. The family of 6 room was awesome. 2 levels. Kids had a blast. The swim up we upgraded for family of 4 and again not impressed. There was a nail in the water. Lots of mosquitoes no lighting and no lounger area like the Royalton . We were in building 12 and the end and you can hear the cars zooming like a loud highway all night. Had to get a white noise. It was unheard of. Walls are paper thin. Beach. - beach is amazing. 7 mile beach can't go wrong although Jan 5-12 was alot of jelly fish. Kids didn't really like it as it hurt then alot. Ecursion are cheap compared to Mexico etc. Staff does reserve beach chairs for everyone so although we got up early to get our own 6am they were always all taken.until the last day we found out the staff wants to be paid and puts towels down reserving it all. Very disappointing. I'll give them points on their watersport. Unlike the Royalton Negril. Azul had catamarans , kayaks, paddle boards and boggie boards all for free. Royalton had none in 2024.

Underwhelming
We got an excellent price for this property through our travel agent, along with another couple. We bought the exact same pkg - they had a huge bathroom and shower area, and ours you could barely fit one person in. It is an older property, which we were aware of when we booked. It definitely in need of repairs but it was always clean. Great value resort if you’re watching your money. As always, you have to get up early and “reserve” your beach chairs with towels if you want a spot on the beach (seems like I’m back in HS), but it was also this way at a resort we visited in Punta Cana. Service was “okay”, definitely not over the top and you had to go to them vs them coming to you. We had a couple really nice gals in the buffet area who went above and beyond and we tipped accordingly. If you’re expecting a grand experience here, you’ll be disappointed. We all had a wonderful time regardless.

Not worth the money
This resort did not live up to my expectations for several reasons. Mainly because it does not live up to the standard that they claim to have, maybe it has previously had a higher standard but at the moment I would give it 3 stars, no more. The majority of the staff are completely uninterested in being service minded. Our stay at this hotel resort was a big disappointment, we had expected a higher standard considering the resort's price level.
