    Family fun in the sun.

Fabulous family time! Everything from the staff, food & accommodations exceeded our expectations. Huge shout out to Ami, Yuli, Valeria, Cynthia & Karla who provided a fabulous experience for our 7 year old grandson. We look forward to returning next year.

Nice hotel but lots of issues

The hotel grounds are very nice but there are various issues that really take away from the experience. 1) Not enough restaurants, so be prepared to eat all your meals at the buffet. Good news, the buffet is pretty good, but after a week of 3-4 meals a day there... Not so much. You HAVE to pre-checkin 10 days prior to arriving to get decent reservation options. If you wait until you checkin, they will be all booked up for the week you are there. Complaining might get you a 10pm reservation at one of the restaurants that is less busy. 2) Room keys are hit and miss. We had a fun little issue where after 11pm, our door would not open, to ANY key. Then by morning it would start working again. This resulted in various trips back and forth to the lobby (10 minute walk). They couldn't do anything about it, so the solution? Breaking into thru the balcony if we stayed out later. This meant having to leave our balcony door open all week. THIS was their solution. 3) If you are a big beach/ocean person, not the place for you. The beach is a 15 minute walk or you can take a shuttle. The beach itself where you can actually swim is maybe 150 yards long and a thin sliver. That may sound OK until you realize how many people are there trying to use that small area. The rest of the beach line is inaccessible by a retaining wall. The grounds themselves are quite nice albeit sprawled. The entertainment was so-so. Karaoke was the best part of the week. Overall it is most certainly not a 4-star hotel, but if you get a decent deal on the booking and are OK with the above issues...

    Comfortable stay

This is pur 3rd time at Coba. It was lovely. Yes it has a few flaws. But what resort doesn't. The food was plentiful. The rooms dressed each day. Staff were friendly. I dont like the fact it is slowly in the works of renovation as that is limiting our experience. The TV went our due to this. The grounds and some buildings are closed and not accessible. Which I get, you can't access while in renovation. And being outdated, but hey I had a bed and a bathroom! The beach was closed our first 3 days due to wind. The pool was always hopping. Our Monkey Sanctuary tour was amazing. I hope Coba doesn't change too much in going half adult only, I hope the renovations don't up the prices too high. I hope they keep all their regulars in mind for the years to come. Our air transit rep was amazing in helping us to organize everything, shout out to Christian our taxi driver for the day! All and all it was a good trip with memories made. Can't wait to see what the changes bring.

    APRIL 2025 = Disappointed Vacation

We are VERY disappointed this time. We were so excited to come back for a second 14-day visit because we enjoyed it SO much last year. We are mid vacation, and we just can't deal with all the changes and negativity we have experienced so far. I don't know if it is because the Hyatt now owns this resort or not? Now a US based company? On arrival, we upgraded our bracelets at $20 USD each per day, only to ask for a refund after 7 days of use. There's nothing extra that is worth that kind of money anymore. The only extra found is the ability to sit on the 'adult only' beach. Food = Nothing extra, Drinks = Nothing extra. Entertainment = Nothing extra. Service = Nope. Transportation=Nothing extra. Entertainment is exactly the same as it was last year with NOTHING new, and you still have to pay on top of everything else to see the good shows or attend the evening parties. No special coffees are being made in the lobby, and there is no showcasing of other gastronomy options either. There are no special BBQs at the pool or on the beach anymore. The snack bars are really disgusting now, with them serving all buffet leftovers from the night before. Which is okay if kept properly. Some of the deli meat was spoiled and still being served. There are no French fries and no decent green salads. The pizzas were consistently being served under-cooked everywhere. All buffets and a la cartes served some salad makings, but they changed from day to day, so you never know what will be available. Then, when you finally can make a decent green salad from the choices available, you will not find any salad dressings to go along with it. Ceasar salad dressing is the only choice we can find. Yuck! Ceasar dressing only belongs on a ceasar salad. What happened to Ranch, Italian, 1000 Island, etc? Like there was last year? Salads are very easy and inexpensive to serve in a buffet, so what is the issue this year? 😡 Our room: Okay, and always nicely cleaned daily even though it was tragically outdated with broken stuff everywhere. Our beds are old and saggy. My bed has an X-large body-sized divet, and even though the mattress topper was put on there to help, it, too, had a large body-sized divet, making it a little difficult to sleep on. Coffee packets and supplies in the room are limited to 1 per room each day. Called for more, but never got any. Same with water. 2 bottles only per day. We use an average of 3 liters per day because I drink 1 liter per by myself per day! TV stopped working on DAY 3 and is still not fixed. The phone was broken, and the hubby had to put it back together to call the front desk. Still doesn't work all the time. However, our A/C and fan work great. Surprised! 😳 Most bar tenders were polite but found the lobby bar needed another mixologist, as it is always backed up and slow. Sports bar staff were NOT friendly at all, and they lacked the simplest english words. They would not put a hockey game on for us even though they played it 2 days prior and had other teams showing that same night. You really need to UNDERSTAND who and where 99% of your patrons are coming from, and most likely sitting in the "sports bar." MARIA, on the adult only beach (Bar 66), is the BEST server on the entire resort! She is happy, friendly, and does her job extremely well despite having to lug heavy drinks all day long on that hot beach. 🤗 The bar tenders at the infinity pool were very efficient and polite, too. The servers in the buffet were okay. However, there were a couple that simply didn't get how to do their job well. Most of the inexperienced ones lacked the drive or ability to do their job well and like their co-workers. We don't expect much, but drinks, napkins, and silverware should be provided at the start of every meal. 🤔 Next, what the heck happened to the Gran Toturga a la Carte? This was the absolute BEST last year, so we booked it twice this time. However, after tonight's experience, we canceled our second dinner. Meat was not coming around at all or like it should. GREEN CARD was faceup the whole time!! Plus, the portions cut off are TINY, and the meat quality is nothing like last year. Over-cooked and dry. Plus, where are all the HOT sides and fixings to go along with all that meat now? No baked or roasted potatoes, no pasta, no rice. No hot side dish veggies, and once again, the salad bar contained ONE dressing - Ceasar! Why? We have one last a la carte to try (Don Pablo), so we're crossing our fingers for that one. 🤞 Sorry, Bahia Principe, we will not be returning, and we don't expect that this review will change anything either. Big corporations like these could really care less. Sad because this WAS a great resort. 😢

We always have an amazing time

We had an amazing time. We love the property. We enjoyed all 4 properties. The food was great. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The pools are just right. All the entertainment is on point. We love all the nature around the resorts. THE BEST THING IS DEFINITELY ALL THE STAFF.
