Feb 01, 2025Beautiful with a couple flaws.
The resort is clean and rooms are beautiful. We had a premium room overlooking the ocean. The food was average. My main cons so only a 3 star were the towel wars were horrid. You either join the antics or you are in sun on the only loungers left. Also I felt the staff were not as friendly as I expected with the exception of Samuel. There was one premium level staff member that actually ignored me and went in length visiting with a Mexican customer. A little public relations skills and handle the towel wars my stars would be a 5 !

We just finished a two week vacation at the Barceló in Huatulco. It really exceeded our expectations in every way. We really enjoyed the fact that it’s not a huge resort with a pleasant ambiance every where you went. The rooms were very comfortable and nice, enough sun beds, great food, delicious drinks and wonderful and friendly staff. The weather was superb, everyday 32 degrees and sunny with beautiful starry nights! The location was gorgeous with the most stunning views. We highly recommend this resort. We had a great experience! 💗🐠🐟🌴🏖️

Barcelo is an average resort with average food (other than the Italian ala carte). They are trying to improve and hopefully will do so. The rooms were great, the pools and beach clean, the nightly Lobby entertainment was good, but too short (should run longer). Loungers by the pool are snapped up quickly leading me to believe some people get up, reserve chairs and then go back to bed. Huatulco is an excellent location for both weather and ambience. I would go again, but I know it is for the sun and not so much for the hotel

Worthy of high praise
This resort was simply amazing. Rarely do we visit a location and immediately want to return. It checked off every important item that makes a resort memorable and worthy of a 5 star review. The food was fantastic in all it's forms whether a buffet or a la cart. It's smaller so no need to take transportation to restaurants or the beach. Staff was amazing and helpful. Rooms were clean and immaculate and every balcony had a view of spectacular sunrises and turquoise water. Previous reviewers who complained about "not enough poolside chairs" I think have very little travel experience south. There was ample availability in nice shade and you didn't have to wake up at 5:30am to get spots. A wonderful experience. Anyone with travel experience will realize this a hidden gem.

Everything was great
Loved the shows. Food was great. Would definitely go again. Were there 2 weeks. Not near enough. Everything was there that we needed thanks to the many great people that served and helped us. Hope to see you sometime soon. I hope to improve my Spanish by then
