Perfect friends trip!!
Just came back from a wonderful seven nights at Barcelo Huatulco! I have to say this trip was just about perfect! We had premium level, oceanfront rooms. Rooms were very clean and had everything you needed. Mini bar was restocked every day fully. We never ran out of anything. A nice touch is that your pool towels are in your room and restocked every day. Showers were nice and hot. Buffets were very good and had a nice selection every day. We visited the Italian, Sushi, Mexican and Seafood restaurants, all good, no complaints there. Waiters and waitresses were very friendly and worked very hard. Fernando took very good care of us at the pool, we were never waiting on a drink. Breakfast staff at the main buffet knew what we liked to drink for breakfast by the 3rd day, without asking. Everyone was very friendly from checkin to checkout. Pools are very clean and they keep the grounds immaculate. Activities crew kept it lively and were at it all day, every day. I definitely recommend this resort and we will for sure be back. Upgrade to Premium, it is definitely worth it! Thank you for wonderful vacation Barceló!

Viva Huatulco & Barcelo
This was our second time to Huatulco but our first time at Barcelo. (although we have friends that have stayed here often and why we decided on this property) First, Huatulco is still a treasure with small crowds and a true Mexican feel with crystal clear water and amazing weather. You know you have arrived at the right place when your plane lands and they roll up a set of stairs to disembark. No crazy Cancun crowds and long waits to clear customs. The town of La Crucecita is a very short cab ride away and is authentic and very safe with some great restaurants an shops....and of course people. Our first impressions of Barcelo were very good. After travelling for so many years we almost always opt for the room and service upgrades but this year was a bit different as we got married there....the upgrades were a must and well worth it. Every single staff that we met and talked to were honestly friendly and happy we were there. We felt so welcomed by everyone. Claudia Erosa was our wedding coordinator and she was truly amazing. She took care of every detail and she was always available if we had any questions. She was in contact with us on a regular basis before we arrived, asking questions to make sure everything was perfect....and it was. We hired a photographer that Barcelo recommended. Her name was Maritza and she was also absolutely fantastic and a true professional. She took charge of everything, making sure the light was right and the setting was perfect. If you are thinking of getting married in Mexico you will not be disappointed here. I have no idea how a photographer can charge $4000-$9000 a day to photograph a wedding in Canada. Think about this....I am actually a retired photographer and the photos from Maritza are as good as any I have seen. You hire her for under $1000, and your trip to Mexico is free.....and you get married on a beach, not Stanley Park. You can hire one of the best Lawyers in Vancouver for less than $1000/hr but not a wedding photographer.....hmmm Another mention were the Barcelo resort musicians we met there. The first night we met them was in the late night bar open from 10-2am...high tempo Mexican music...such a fun night with a ton of Canadians. The next morning not so much. We ended up talking with the band and they wanted to play us a special song in the lobby bar the next night as we had just gotten married....that was really special. Then a couple of nights later they were in the show lounge putting on an amazing show! Such amazing range for a band....fun high tempo Mexican music...then beautiful lounge music then a show lounge show that was great! The lead singer....and I am embarrassed I forgot her name, but she is amazing....so much range and a very sweet person. The property is fairly small, with just 2 pools, which we prefer. The only thing that was a very small irritant was that our 17 your old daughter wasn't allowed to swim the adult pool. There were staff patrolling it looking for yellow wrist bands and ejecting all sub 18 year old's even though they were quiet. Her only choice was to swim with 5 year old's in the adjacent kids pool. That needs to change. A 14, 15 or 16+ rule would be perfect as the resort only has 2 pools. If they had an all ages pool then fine but this is an oversight by the resort. An easy fix to this is to issue 2 wrist bands. A yellow one for the bartenders to see and another one for the pool for those in the age window. That being said the ocean was our choice anyway and was great with almost no waves, except the first day that was pretty windy. With the premier upgrade, which cost $700 Canadian for the week per room was well worth it. With the regular room, you are only able to book 2 restaurants per stay but with the upgrade we could book every night. The buffet, although a bit small was always fresh with a lot of choices....and a great Breakfast/Lunch and they set up an outdoor area for dinner which we unfortunately missed but heard it was really good. During our stay there were 4 a La Carte restaurants available but not on all nights as they rotate the availability. We have been travelling to Mexico for 20 years and at most of the resorts the Mexican restaurants have been hit and miss. The food here was exceptional. It was easily on par with the Italian restaurant and better in many ways, especially the fun factor. Silly Sombreros and a floating Tequila cart. We did not try the Japanese Sushi Bar as we live in Vancouver with a Sushi restaurant on every second corner. They did have a new Seafood restaurant opening during our stay. Unfortunately this one was a disappointment for us. The seafood was cooked perfectly but just too so much salt for any of us and none of us ate...and I don't mind salt, so off to the Buffet! And that was really good. We can't wait to be back again next year.

A Wonderful Place for a Family Vacation
This was the best all-inclusive vacation I and my family have experienced. The setting is absolutely gorgeous; the amenities (pools, bar, lobby, dining and buffet rooms) are beautifully appointed and exceptionally clean. The rooms are very clean and comfortable; staff are welcoming, efficient and friendly and the activities for children are excellent. We will not hesitate to return to this Barceló and beautiful Huatulco.

Barcelo Huatulco
Was there for 2 weeks March 4-18 2025, and all was good, would definitely be returning to this hotel… rooms were cleaned daily, room bar fridge was stocked each day, could always find something to eat at each meal, lots of variety. Lots of chairs around all the pools, no need to get up early to put down your towel before 7am. On Friday and Saturday they had a person going around before 6am with notes to remind quests not to put towels down before 7am. Lots of shade at this resort and you will need it, it’s hot….
