Everything was checked and it was fine. Next time I visit the hotel I will try a more comfortable and economical room.

After ten years, I returned to the Barcelo Santo Domingo, and the experience was not as good as then. My room smelled moldy. It was the carpet which needed deep vacuuming. Also, several times, the cleaning staff woke me early in the morning because my room didn't have a Do Not Disturb card. On my last day, a Sunday, the maintenance staff started repairing something in a nearby room in the morning. Apart from those details, the staff is amiable and helpful, and the food is excellent.

The location and reputation of this hotel brand is amazing. However our recent stay in a junior suite on the second d floor was extremely disappointing. This was due to the very strong and overpowering odour of mildew that was coming from the carpet. As the room faces a main street it was difficult to sleep due to the noise from the traffic throughout the night.

A week in Santo Domingo.
Great Older hotel but on a busy street good location. friendly staff. Great to have a store on location to get the items you forget but understand it's 100% markup. It would be better to take Uber for any place you wanna go traffic is very aggressive and crazy.
