Aruba First Time
Tip: if the restaurant staff tells you they cannot reserve you a table, go anyway and staff usually can accommodate. Apparently, alot of guests book multiple reservations at the hotel restaurants and then don't show, hence not time slots. A $5 or $10 will get you a spot. I suggest the hotel charge a modest 'fee' if guests don't cancel a reservation. That might stop or at least minimize this practice.

Our experience at Barcelo Aruba
I give my average score only for the lack of different choices in the buffet, specifically at the fruit station. For example during the dinner they had six bowls with cantaloupe and two bowls with apples. I'm sure there could be much better assortment of fruits on on tropical island like this. Other than this the service was good everywhere.

The palm restaurant buffet
We enjoyed our visit to the palm buffet. Staff is friendly and prompt. Our server at the palm restaurant on several occasions was with Ruthmila was a delight, courteous and excellent attentive service. 😀 the food had a variety of choices. The breakfast you can have eggs your way.

Happy Island with Not So Happy Staff
Upon our arrival we were greeted by a very unhappy check in person. She seemed to get bothered by us asking questions and was just not a pleasant person. They will not let you check in until 4pm so we went to eat lunch in the palm cafe. The food was just ok after lunch we went to our room. So when I booked the room I wanted an oceanfront room for our 20th wedding anniversary which was clearly understood along with the information that we were engaged at this resort 21 years ago. So we get to our room to open the balcony door to overlook a construction site yes you could see the ocean but not what I expected when booking. The tv didn’t work in the room and we discovered the faceplates to the shampoo and body wash on the floor of the tub ( which is where they stayed for the duration of our stay) We then went back to the desk to advise the same miserable lady and requested to change rooms she just said “no”! Didn’t check to see if another room was available just “no”! The resort was definitely not at capacity. So back to the room we go to get changed for the pool. While sitting at the outside seating of the pool bar I observed a woman projectile vomit at least 5 times into the pool. I told the pool staff every-time I saw her do it and they did NOTHING about it. They allowed this highly intoxicated women stay in the pool while vomiting. So needless to say we didn’t ever enter the pool during our stay. We went to the buffet lunch by the beach three times and stood there each time for several minutes with no one to be found to seat us so we sat ourselves. So now onto the positives of this resort….. it’s in a great location! We will never go back to this resort ever again, not the way we wanted to spend our 20th wedding anniversary and certainly with the registrations ladies not so happy and unaccommodating attitude.

Great customer service at the Barcelo Aruba!!!!!!
The Barcelo in Aruba is the best experience!!!! Everyone is friendly and helpful!! Randall at the front door greets you with a big smile and makes you feel so welcome. Veronica at the Royal Club level makes sure all your needs are met from dinner reservations to towels and beach huts for your usage. The beach bar was fabulous due to Omar. He always went beyond to make sure we were having a fabulous time. Vladimir and Randy on the beach made sure we had chairs and the items for some fun in the sun. Lunch everyday at the outside buffet was run by a great manager, Claudia. She leads by example. Also, the Royal Club restaurant was a go to place for our breakfast and dinner. Melvin, Maria, Carolina, Leyla, Lissette and Miluska made our everyday start out perfectly!! We so enjoyed their company. And last but not least is the evening crew at the Royal Club restaurant. George, Joyce, Eterlina, Jaime and Masael made our dinners just perfect and always such an enjoyable experience! I recommend the Barcelo Aruba for a vacation you will never forget. Not only is the hotel beautiful and in a perfect location, it offers you the best customer service ever!!!!!!!!!
