    Feedback

Hello, I am a student of tourism and recreation, so I leave my opinion with feedback, which I know is important for the hotel. Let's start with the fact that the hotel is really wonderful, of course I have a few minor comments. Let's start with the pluses: - A huge selection of delicious food, especially breakfast, whatever I could think of, there was always freshly squeezed/blended juices. - Well-kept large garden, beautiful greenery giving a wonderful atmosphere - Beautiful beach - Room really in good condition for Mexican conditions - High level of evening performances - Animations - full atractions in the hotel area - Taking care of ecology - Paper cups with handles - Refilled Minibar - Quite good Wi-Fi for a hotel - Polite staff at the reception and in the dining room, in the bars something to improve - Large number of pools - Presence of iguanas on the hotel premises Now a few smaller and bigger minuses: - I would improve a little when it comes to sweet cakes, so that there were definitely less foam ones - I would definitely close the dolphinarium, because I think that using dolphins to drag people and locking them in a small pool is unethical, abnormal. Let's remember that we shorten the lifespan of these animals by at least half and let's not forget that a dolphin died in the hotel. - As for minor comments, I missed a shower head in the room, apart from a rain shower and a toilet brush. - paid waterpark Despite everything, I consider my stay very successful and I would gladly return to this hotel again. I wanted to write these opinions so that you could draw attention to the minuses and constantly improve.

    Fun family vacation

Family of 4 (2 children age 10 and 8) stayed at Colonial for 8 nights end of January. Overall had an excellent vacation as we were there as part of a larger family vacation, all of us from Canada. This our 6th time to the Barcelo Maya property, having previously stayed at Palace (3x), Tropical and Colonial. We love the grounds, the beach and the overall vibe of the resort. The food is pretty good considering they are feeding so many people. The only area of improvement would be the room updates, including some of the mold in our room and our bathroom shower was almost unusable due to calcium build up being so thick on it. We had asked them to replace it, but they never did, so showering each day was very time consuming with a trickle of water and 4 people needing to shower. Little things like this can be annoying on an otherwise great vacation.

    Family Vacay

Great resort with endless options of activities. Colonial was dated and requires updating. The grounds were exquisite!

Amazing bar staff at Piano Bar and beautiful beaches are the highlight.

My husband and I spent the last week at Barcelo Colonial with his parents, siblings in their 30s, and our 11 and 13 year old nephew and niece. This resort was a good fit for a group with a variety of needs. A big highlight for us was spending every evening in the piano bar off the lobby. The musicians were top-notch and the bar staff were all so kind and helpful. Special shout outs to: Captain- Brenda Jordy Aldair Fatima Lopez Martine Jimnez Elvira demeza Jaimie We appreciated the personal and dedicated service all week and thank you for everything.

    An absolute must

I’ve been to Mexico 7 times, Dominican Republic 2 times, and Cuba once. Needless to say every trip I’ve been on that wasn’t to the barcelo Maya resort, I was disappointed because it just didn’t compare to the barcelo. Food is excellent, service is excellent, drinks are excellent, and there’s endless things to see and do right on the resort. 3rd time being to this resort and looking forward to the 4th time already!
