Beware
BEWARE, We have been at the Barcelo Tropical, Colonial and Palace almost a dozen time. We loved it, but our last stay was pretty bad, our timing coincided with march break for US high schools, the site was overbooked, we had reserved 5 months in advanced for a room with 2 beds but there were none available at our arrival and even after complaining, they assured us there was not a single room with 2 beds available on the site. The site was full, it was really full, never before had we trouble finding a chair on the beach, this time the was only the rare single chair. Same thing at the buffet we had to wait in long line up for breakfast and dinner. Finally one morning we were seated very close to a group of young men, one them pretty sick was coughing so much we had to leave the buffet quickly, even so I got the flu and got sick my wife too. The site is beautiful we had been there in high season every time and it was great, but that time it was not so.

Nice winter getaway.
This resort was beautiful and all the staff were very helpful and friendly . Very comfortable beds and everything was immaculate. Food was excellent as well. Lots of shopping and things to do on resort from game room with pool tables and bowling alley and mini putt and even has a dolphin sanctuary. Only cons were that it is a long drive from the airport and the shows at night though excellent started at 9:30 which was too late for me. Also the beaches were nice and swimming in the ocean was so beautiful but there were some spots you needed to watch out for rocks when entering the water.

Dolphins abuse
We really liked your hotel and the facilities except the swimming pool with the dolphins. We find it cruel in 2024 to leave poor dolphins (4) in such a small pool to satisfy your customers!!! We saw them just wait or turn in round. These animals swim and dive a lot kilometers in a their natural habitat. I hope that you will remove this pool and return these dolphins to their habitat or a sanctuary if they can no longer. THANKS

Very Entertaining and Fun!
We had so much fun staying here! I had a ton of fun with the entertainment team doing aqua gym, zumba, crazy games, Mexican bingo, water polo, and more! The team has high energy and quickly got to know me by name. Huge shout out to José Espinosa, the animation assistant that oversees this team and comes up with activities, Giovanni Mendoza the animation supervisor, Mayra Bautista, Nayma Camacho, Isabel Torres, Yasaf Ayala, Manuel Cervantes, Erick Martinez, Rubén Amaya, and Jair Hernandez. This team works so hard to ensure the guests have a good time and have smiles on their faces! Huge shout out as well to the Water Sports team for their role, and who also assisted the Animation team when the weather was not good for water sports: Carlos Chan, José Manuel Guadarrama, Leo Medel, Demian Ramirez, Josué Solís, Romeo Ríos, Yaremy Alvarado. This team ensures that the conditions are right for water sports and prioritizes safety, and also adapt quickly to help out with animation! A huge shout out as well to the team in the Go Karts area: Bryan Graniel, Ignacio Rodriguez and Angie Ruiz! Thank you for the work you do to make sure things go smoothly and safely! Huge shout out to the Barcy Club team: Lourdes Andrade, Zaira García, and Susy Que Ovando! Thanks for making sure the kids are having a good time!
