Big rooms, food ok but nothing special, beach wasn’t great for swimming. Main complaint was how noisy this resort is at night. Sound carries through the resort & the only bar is small & open to outside. There were 3 weddings during our week there, also with music blaring. The music and cheering can be clearly heard in your room. If you’re looking for a peaceful vacation, this is not the place for you!

We stayed here for a family wedding and the staff were miserable, unfriendly and the service in general was terrible. There is one bar open later than 6pm; it closed early one night and the bartenders were miserable the entire week. Our room had no issues (premium) but most people in our group didn’t have hot water, or even a working shower (the handle fell off in their hand) in their rooms most days. David was the only waiter that actually gave us quality service. We sought him out at every meal if we could - at least we would be guaranteed to get a drink before we finished our meal. The staff in general made us feel very unwelcome.

I will like to thank all staff and management at Barceló in Mismaloya for a wonderful experience. My wife and I stay on November 12 unfortunately for one night only celebrating our 9 year anniversary. The check in was good, the room was perfect! We were not expecting all amenities and decoration the staff provided for our celebration. It was absolutely perfect! I will like to thank specially all employees who decorated our suit, the 2 bar pool bartenders, and the concierge. This is the second time we stay at Barceló and It is good to know that we still had the same great experience that we did 10 years ago when we stay for the first time. Thank you all for making our stay memorable and wonderful again!

Went early November with a group of couples friends and ended up having a great time with fun party at the pool! Alonso was incredible, as we're the rest, but cannot say enough about how fun Alonso made my trip! Would 100% recommend finding him and taking part in the activities!

a nice spot to stay near Puerto Vallarta
The Barcelo is well located and offers comfortable and modern accommodation, friendly and helpful staff, the Premium services are very accommodating and helpful, worth the upgrade. Having easy access to a lovely sandy beach and nice variety of pools and services...all of it made for a great Mexican getaway . The only bump in our family vacation was the size of the Premium family room situation... too cozy for one of our family's needs... unless you have very small children I would suggest you rethink the decision to book that particular room configuration. Those of us in the other Premium rooms were well accommodated.
