We'll be back!
The Barcelo Tambor is a gem. We stayed there for 3 days and swam, played pool, watched the shows and generally had a fantastic time.

Great family friendly all inclusive decent food and great staff
Hotel staff were very helpful And accommodating . The hotel grounds were beautiful and well maintained. The all inclusive food was actually very good and was actually quite happy with the variety at the buffets. The 3 dine in restaurants were also very good and was happy with our ordered meals. The snack bar waits were a bit long to get pool Side snacks and also the lobby bar had lengthy lines to order beverages after pool and snack bar bars closed. Dinner starting at 7 was also a bit late For family’s but is what it is . Nightly shows were mostly Spanish but acts were great and well executed by staff. The disco after 12am was way to loud not so much the music it was mostly the dj voice was carried though the property which was a bit turn off as we had troubles sleeping most nights and I have never complained ever about noise but it was a bit much. Untill 2am this would be the only reason I would not return in the future .

Vacation
The towels and beach seats weren’t enough, the food was good, I really appreciated to have a catholic mass it was really valuable. The girl in charge of servicio al cliente wasn’t too kind, she was cold and didn’t help us with solutions. Beds and rooms were clean and nice.

The only Hotel all-inclusive in Costa Rica that gives change to everybody to enjoy a great experience!
Not the first time I have gone to this hotel. I went with my husband to celebrate our wedding anniversary as we were looking for something more under our budget this year. This came as the best option. We made the reservation in advance ~6months which gave us more flexibility with rates and dates. This is not high season in Costa Rica as that usually is from Dec to Feb or March but it was packed with people on the weekend as it was a national holiday. In despite of the amount of people the experience was great. The hotel is very capable of handling big amounts of people and those huge groups of a single family going crazy everywhere. The accommodations and the buildings are design in such a way you can space a little from the crowd when you want. The only thing you cannot scape to much from is noise as the pool gets full of activities during the day (also those who are enjoying themselves drinking as there's no tomorrow) and there's the "Disco" at night which depending where your room is located will give you quite a big of noise if you want to go to bed early but nothing some earplugs cannot fix. The air conditioning in the room was a little problem as the vents cannot be moved so the wind always hits you on your face due to the way the beds are placed in relation to the AC vent itself, we had to turn the AC off for some times to be able to sleep, or cover our faces with the blanket so the wind did not dry our nose and throat as crazy. We tried the Premium Level rate this time for the first time and IT IS WORTH IT!! I cannot emphasize that more, the Premium room will offer a little variety but pretty good selected types of drinks and food that you will not find on the buffet or the other bars. You have bacon there for breakfast for example, you don't have that on the buffet. You have your own place to check-in and check-out, no endless lines to do it with the rest of people. You have priority for a la carte dinning reservations, yes, no lines at 7am to get a spot. And one of the things I appreciate the most is the fact you can just go there and enjoy yourself without the crowds and the service in that room is great. Thanks Jefferson for being so nice and try to get all of our answers replied, really appreciate it. Thanks Karen because you are such a sweet and kind girl, really looks you enjoy being there and help people, thanks so much for always being pending of those little details as well. And thanks to William, who was like an all-in-one guy there and so friendly and respectful at the same time. If you can spend some little extra dollars, just upgrade to Premium. It's worth it!! To summarize my husband an I have made a couple more plans to go in the coming months again, but now we're "always Premium". This resort is not as expensive as other chains, so it's pretty nice they keep quality but always make it accessible or possible for those who work hard throughout the year and want to have a nice vacation but do not have that ridiculous amount of money to spend on that.
