Dead Body at the Casa Dorada - Safety is an issue!
I stayed at the Casa Dorada 7 years ago and it was good enough to get me to come back this past April 2025. Now things have certainly changed. Knowing from my last visit, 1/2 of the hotel is incredibly noisy all day until 1AM. And having my family on this trip, obviously you want your 2nd room connected or at least on the same floor as your pre-teens. I requested all of this in making my reservation. I got none of this. I was placed on the 5th Floor, while my kids were on the 4th Floor. And while I asked to be on the quiet side of the hotel, they placed my on the noisy side in the noisiest area. Mind you, the hotel was only 33% full. They tried to upsell me to connecting rooms when I had already booked an Executive Suite. Shameless! I specifically booked through the Casa Dorada website because I read other reviews that they only make special requests when you book directly. Well, they didn't make a simple request for me. Day 1 we go to the gym. There is a dead body lying in blood and recently covered by the police. When you travel to another country with your 3 children, and have this being the first experience of the hotel, it throws you off. It makes you want to get back onto a plane and go home. There were no apologies given from the Casa Dorada. This is a real review or the Casa Dorada. This is not a joke in any way. I never felt safe after Day 1 of my 5 Day stay.... Of course, I will not return.

Best wedding ever!
We got married at 12 Tribes Restaurant in Casa Dorada and I honestly can’t recommend it enough. The location is perfect — right next to the ocean so you get those stunning views and ocean breeze without being directly on the sand (which was exactly what I wanted). Even though it’s in the heart of Cabo and close to all the action, the venue still felt private. And then there’s Katherine — our incredible coordinator. If you’ve ever planned a wedding in Mexico, you know it’s not uncommon for vendors to take a week or two to respond. That was not the case with Katherine. She was incredibly fast, always thoughtful and never missed a single detail. I’m very Type A and sent her literally hundreds of emails — she answered every one without ever making me feel like I was a burden. I always felt like I was in the best hands. The day-of experience was just as amazing. The service was seriously unreal — I never even made it to the bar because the staff was so attentive, they brought me whatever I needed before I even thought to ask. Our guests are still raving how taken care of they felt. Everything ran smoothly, and I never had to stress or micromanage a thing. The food was pretty good too! If you’re considering a wedding in Cabo, I highly recommend 12 Tribes — and definitely work with Katherine. She’s a rockstar and made our day unforgettable.

Simply the Best Experience
This has been one of the best hotels that my husband and I have ever seen. This is the first time in 30 years of marriage that we stayed in the same room that we were initially given. The room was impeccably clean, everything was very organized, and the cleaning staff and crew Our expectations. The hotel, restaurants, waiters and waitresses, extra amenity groups, have been more than I could have expected from a hotel.

Great stay
We’ve stayed at this resort multiple times. The resort feels a little dated, but it's a perfect location, just steps away from medano beach with a nice beach club. The folks working there go out of their way to make the stay comfortable. They also have entertaining activities throughout the day; we enjoyed playing blackjack and bingo when taking a break from the beach

Can no longer recommend
I have been an owner here for 16 years. Casa Dorada needs an update - they have the same furnishings since they opened. Pools need to be updated. We had something taken by housekeeping and security was no hel. We were charged $50 for “mini bar” items we did not use and had to threaten a charge back before they would credit me back. I was asked to be billed in Pesos instead of their own exchange rate and they ignored this and used their own rate. They do not have security cameras in the hallways. Mango Deck was pumping until 2:00 am despite the supposedly “quiet times” at 10:00 pm. They recently fired long time employees who were integral to the hotel’s success. Way too expensive for owners to book - it’s less expensive to go to Europe now. Sad to see one of my favorite places go downhill so fast.
