Birthday Trip
It was me and my husbands birthday trip and our second time here. We felt welcomed and special from everyone at the resort. The staff is wonderful: friendly, professional and knowledgeable. I want to specially highlight our dining experience at Codex. This restaurant is a hidden gem. Nicely tucked in away from the rest of the resort, in the woods but still right at the beach. It was my birthday dinner. From the moment we arrived, a friendly hostess seated us at the table overlooking the beach (highly recommend arriving before the sun goes down for the full experience). Our server Christian was the highlight of the night. He was so kind and knowledgeable, he guided us so wonderfully throughout our dining experience. We felt again very special and we thank him for that. An amazing experience across the board and we will be back!

Favorite Luxury Hotel for families with kids
We family stayed in three different ocean view rooms. All rooms were spacious and our children loved the balcony facing the ocean. All the staff at the Conrad were friendly, attentive and respectful. The hospitality you receive from the staff is sincere and you can feel it. Happy employees do make your hotel experience better. The pools were great and my kids loved the water slide. The water was perfect and the infinity pool facing the ocean was my favorite. We ate at all the restaurants- Paleta, Arbol, Mesquite and Codex. The breakfast buffet was delicious! The food is great. Our parents are harsh critics when it comes to food and they loved all their meals! There wasn’t any entertainment while we were here but we had a blast in the game room and walking around the hotel at night. I would definitely stay here again for a relaxing and peaceful vacation.

Terrible smell in room, bare minimum Diamond perks, nice grounds
I’ve been waffling on leaving this review but ultimately decided to, so here goes. We booked a three night stay with rewards I had accumulated over the years. First, the property is lovely. Beachside, with airy modern style and generally beautiful aesthetic that is totally up our alley. Toiletries are nice and rooms are well situated. The biggest problem we had was the smell in our room. The bedding smelled of mildew all 3 nights we were there and there was always a hint of dampness in the bedding. The problem wasn’t unbearable the first night so we just dealt with it. The second night WAS unbearable so we called for someone to change the bedding. They did, but it was literally just the fitted sheets. As soon as my head hit the pillow and I pulled up the blanket I could smell that same musty awful smell. But it was late and we sucked it up. On our third day there, I called in advance and requested that all bedding be changed before the evening or for us to be moved to a different room. Changing the bedding helped, but by then I think the room and the bed itself was just permeated with the smell. I started writing this review while I was laying in bed unable to sleep. Losing sleep due to lack of cleanliness is just unacceptable at a hotel of this caliber. But to make it even worse, there was almost nothing to help make up for the problem. I’m a Diamond member, and the perks are meh at best. We booked a partial ocean view room and received an upgrade to a supposedly full ocean view room. Not only was the “full” ocean view not at all visible from inside the room (you have to go onto the balcony), it was the same or lesser upgrade offered to almost everyone else in our large traveling party regardless of status. The hotel has a breakfast buffet for $42, but the $19 per day food and beverage credit covered less than half of that. You can order the “continental” breakfast for $19 on the menu, but the contents were honestly kind of sad and unappetizing (it literally included only carbs) so we didn’t even bother. The full breakfast was offered to my friends who booked through Amex, so bust yet again for “Diamond” status. Finally, we dined at Codex on night 1. I don’t mind paying for good food and regularly drop a few hundy for a good meal. But holy moly our $201 meal (2 people) left us both still hungry and in search of snacks. It was actually cheaper AND more satisfying to travel into Salyulita for meals. Ultimately, I loved the property itself and the staff was great. But major dings for mildew smell in our room and mediocre (and that’s generous) perks for Diamond status. When we reported the smell as part of the feedback for our stay, I was credited 40k points to my account. The reservation was 95k a night, so I’ll give credit for a nice gesture (particularly since it was offered without prompting by me), but honestly it doesn’t do all that much, especially since the problem wasn’t addressed during our stay. The right thing to do would have been to (1) ensure the room DIDN’T smell before guests arrived, (2) replaced the whole bedding set when we made the problem known, or (3) moved us to a cleaner room. And yes, there were dozens of unoccupied rooms across all categories while we were there. I’m quite sad we burned almost 300k points at this property.

Great staff. Terrible food.
Wonderful staff and facilities. But food was terrible. Nearly ruined the whole experience. I don't know if they even had an active kitchen. The meals tasted bland and as if they had been warmed in a microwave. Our waiter actually steered us away from certain items on the menu. Airplane food at a 5 star resort. Inexcusable.

Best night at Conrad Punta de Mita !
Our third night here and we ate dinner at the very romantic seaside restaurant called CODEX. For starters, our server named Christian absolutely offered impeccable attendance and service for us as well as the chef Jose, who actually came tableside to review his special dishes with us. What a night to remember all of the restaurants are good here at the Conrad, but hands-down this night was the best by far. The Lobster risotto will leave you speechless!!!
