Solid beachside hotel at a good price point
Solid hotel. Is quite large with two towers and a large atrium bar area where we had drinks. We stayed there because it was the team hotel for Notre Dame who were playing in the CFP semifinal game versus Penn State in the Orange Bowl. The atrium lobby bar area was great for people and player watching. The pool area is a bit dated but nice and the beach was well serviced by the hotel staff. The rooms are good size and modern. They have blackout shades which is nice when you want to sleep in. Overall a solid hotel at a reasonable price point.

Wish I could be more positive but tried to be fair
Very mixed review. Hotel lobby is beautifully redone. Our oceanfront room was mediocre at best. Nothing special at all. Balcony squares dirty and scratched. Furniture in balcony old and worn. Almost kill yourself tripping over the ledge to get out to the balcony. So beautiful view is offset by all of these things. Front desk staff very nice. Beach service excellent. Pool service poor. Nickel and dime you. You get a lounge chair but have to pay $10 plus tax for an umbrella. Really. Are they not charging enough as is. Valet Parking great or Piss poor. Waited for our car for 25 minutes and person you call to bring up the car rude! You get one free bottle of water when you check in otherwise everything costs you money. Room has 2 pictures placed on the top of the bed frame. Not even hung in the wall. Room is in desperate need of a makeover. Towels in both the room and on the beach threadbare or tiny. Really. Invest in some towels. The service from house keeping is good. You ask for it and they bring it but they can’t help the condition of the room. It’s just run down. Hmm Extra fee of $50 a night surcharge.

First time to Diplomat
Diplomat was a great choice for our anniversary. The service was great, as well as the amenities, particularly the spa and beach daybed. The guest ambassadors Emile and Melissa were helpful for informing us of other Hilton opportunities. Maxwell and Hector at the beach provided great service and were very thoughtful for providing an anniversary card and wine. There's construction going on, but it didn't interrupt a great time.

Disappointed
I booked an oceanfront balcony room with valet service from January 18 to January 20, 2025, through Hilton Honors at a premium rate, as I was seeking a much-needed break following my mother's passing. The Diplomat Hotel on the beach was my top choice due to its proximity. Before my arrival on January 18, I spoke with Joe, the concierge, who was very friendly and helpful in securing two dinner reservations at the Prime Steakhouse. Upon arrival, the valet and bellhop staff were courteous and professional, which set a positive tone for my stay. We were taken to room 3369, which was beautifully appointed. However, I encountered a small issue when I tried to make coffee and noticed that the coffee maker was missing its water reservoir. I reached out to room service, and they promptly provided a new coffee maker along with all the necessary condiments. After enjoying a wonderful dinner at the Prime restaurant, we spent the evening in the lobby, sipping cocktails while listening to a talented two-piece band, which was delightful. Upon returning to our room, I noticed a ring in the toilet, and the bathtub had skid marks and hair in the drain from a prior guest. I brought this to the attention of housekeeping in the morning, and they assured me that someone would come to address it. Later, when I returned, I was greeted by the housekeeper assigned to my room. While she indicated that the room had been cleaned, I pointed out the skid marks and hair, which she promptly removed. Unfortunately, when I returned to the room after a day at the beach, I found that the same hair had been moved to the shower, which hadn't been there earlier. During checkout, I discussed my concerns with Ashley, who was already aware of my earlier complaints. She kindly offered to connect me with the housekeeping manager, but I was primarily focused on reconciling my bill due to time constraints. Upon reviewing my bill, which seemed quite high for just a two-day stay, I noticed I had been double charged for valet service and charged $40 by the cabana attendant, Max, without being informed beforehand of the charges for four water bottles and a bucket of ice. Ashley was attentive and helpful in addressing the discrepancies, but the overall experience left me feeling a bit disappointed and taken aback. I appreciate the staff's efforts but believe there are opportunities for improvements in housekeeping and billing transparency.

Return visit, very good
We visited for the first time in January 2024. Really enjoyed ourselves and decided to return this January. The reviews of construction and service concerned us but no worries. The finished lobby is very nice. The rooms are still well appointed, but are not serviced regularly. We had someone stop by and cleaned only on the first day, after that someone stopped by around 8 PM each evening to ask if we needed something. The trash piled up. Staff were friendly and helpful everywhere at the resort. Except at Counter Point, they add an automatic 20% gratuity to all checks. Makes it easy to sign and go. The main pool is open, one hot tub is open, and the beach is fabulous. Because the kids area is closed, families are taking over the single pool left opened and it makes things a little more unpleasant for those of us vacationing without children.
