    Expensive!

    We have been coming here for years and prices continue to soar. Divi and the Aruba government are making it increasingly difficult for us to afford our stays. Taxes and fees are out of control with no end in sight. Try shopping in the Divi Phoenix store and you will be shocked like I was. (Small bottle of rum for $40 is an example). Even if you don't charge anything to your room, you still face a weekly bill of $200 to 300 due to all the taxes and fees.

    Great staff!

    The staff is very friendly and helpful. Especially Julio, Joel and Ariel who help on the beach with chairs and accommodations.

    Update

    I wanted to provide an update on my previous comment regarding the Divi Phoenix summary. We booked a stay at the villas, but they placed us in the old Phoenix instead. Despite our complaints, we received no assistance, and we ended up paying extra points for that. Recently, I spoke with some very nice representatives who assured me they would do everything in their power to accommodate us when we return in November. While they can't make any guarantees, it seems reasonable that we should stay where we originally booked. Their friendly communication is a positive sign. I plan to follow up in 3 to 5 days to the resort to confirm our placement, then I’ll update Tripadvisor to see what they told us was true. I will update at that time. Thank you.

    Aruba Phoenix

    Aruba is a safe, friendly island. The weather is always warm. Outside the hurricane zone so no worry there. Pampered is the term for how you are treated by the staff. The Aruban people speak 4 languages so there is no language barrier.
