Just a little love...
There is a 38 Special song with the lyrics just a little love goes a long, long, long, long way. Let me start with the positives. We usually go to a smaller resort that is not a party location. We go to get away from it all. Divi was perfect for that. The smaller resort not on a beach with a dozen other resorts was perfect for us. Our room was newly remodeled and was very nice. The staff was awesome. Everyone was very friendly and made sure our needs were met. The negatives. One of the issues with small resorts is usually the food choices. Divi has that problem. Every meal food is only available at one location. The menu never changes. With only a few choices each meal, the selection does get boring. The food at the pool bar was very good and Tuscany, the italian restaurant was very good. You just only had the same six choice every meal. It they could have a rotating menu changed every Wednesday, that would at least give you some different choices. The beach was ok. Nothing special, but was ok. I would love to see them clean up the resort. The beach was covered in weeds. The landscaping was overgrown and needed cut back. There was garbage here and there that needs cleaned up. For example, there is an old pitchfork head in the fence at the minature golf course. The started working on it mid week, but it would be nice for them to keep it up.

Really Wanted for Like It
After 25 years of visiting the island and staying many places, I was talked into trying Divi. I really wanted to like it, but I'm one and done. Room: 270 was a king oceanfront. Very nice. The couch had some stain on it, but otherwise the to and bathroom were pretty nice. Activities: paddle boards, kayaks, pool floats, snorkels all available to borrow. There is a large game room. We played pool bit the table was in rough shape. Shuffleboard was fun but needs some new pieces. Not sure if the mini golf is in use. Grass was high around it. The pool was great. Hot tub element was broke so, no heat, just bubbles. Food: we are not gourmet eaters but it was disappointing. The outside bar food was ok. The buffet was terrible. Always cold. No one was never carving meat like the commercials show! The "gourmet" restaurant was open 3 days with reservations required. Monday was not bad but the other 2 days it was awful. The coffee shop sandwiches were awful and the selection of sweets was pathetic. It was open to noon and was the only thing that passed as a store/giftshop. We were very sick of the same food everyday. Nothing rotates except for a few breakfast items. Staff were all wonderful, but worked from dawn till dusk. I felt sorry for them. They were all very friendly. They were terribly short staffed. I think managers could have pitched in. Facilities: it rained most of the week. Water laid everywhere and was dangerous. I slipped several times. The dining room leaked so bad one day we had to take our food and find somewhere else to eat. It leaked daily. We sat in a lounger at the pool sitting in 4 inches of water. The beach was a terrible disappointment. The seaweed was not bad. However, they make no effort to clean the beach. Garbage and debris all over. It could be a nice beach with a daily rake. Lots of potential, but not sure it will get there.

Disappointing Amenities, however staff is wonderful and friendly
Upon getting there, we were quickly greeted by a friendly bartender and front desk attendant who took our bags from the taxi and brought us drinks. Quick and easy check in, right to the room. Upon entering the room, we were promptly smacked in the face with the worst smell of mold and mildew. The room and hotel were no where near as nice and "updated" as they appear in all of the photos. Shower was not very clean, and my wife and I showered on a bath towel so we didn't have to stand on the actual shower floor. Bathroom fan did not work, which can be a problem in a small room. One of the restaurants took in a lot of water during a rainy day and also stunk like mold and mildew. Drinks and food are pretty lackluster, you'll find better eating pretty much anywhere on the island. Only decent food were the chicken wings and pizza at the oceans bar. The Tuscany restaurant that is open 3 nights a week was ok with a 3 course meal. The Wave breakfast buffet left a little to be desired as well. Choices varied, and the food itself was not great. Bit into several pieces of spoiled fruit. Thankfully the staff is amazing, otherwise this would be a one star review. Beds are awful as are the pillows. Wifi is constantly in and out. Hot tub was down the entire time we were there. This is supposed to be fairly "newly renovated" and saw absolutely no signs of that whatsoever. They advertise as cleaning their beach regularly - they do not, and never did while we were there. I wouldn't stay ay this resort again. Thankfully St. Croix is a beautiful island, and we decided to rent a car and get out and about, which in the end gave us a great vacation. The resort is fairly secluded - away from the town and with little to do. Don't get stuck in the mindset of wanting all inclusive like I did, it's not worth the tradeoff.

Good Times in St Croix
Great time for our week in St Croix. Over the years we have visited many of the Caribbean islands. First time in St Croix. Explored the island was a rental and another couple. our only rainy day of a 7 day visit. Spent all day exploring. Lots of fun. Wife bought a neckless she was looking for. Resort lots of fun. Great staff. Roddy was our "surrogate" son for a week! Everyone on the staff was friendly and very personable. Older resort, but clean and rooms very nice. Tuscany restaurant was good. We ate there three nights. Gotta say the buffet was not the best. Needs attention. Breakfast had an awesome omelete bar was awesome.

Most relaxing vacation I’ve had in decades
I was skeptical about staying at the only all inclusive option on St. Croix, but my mind was at ease the moment I arrived. The staff was consistently positive, helpful and eager to answer questions and spark up conversation. Every bar, pool and restaurant I found had a breezy ocean view much like my villa, which had an open and inviting layout. I love that I didn’t have to ask for more pillows or towels which were already stowed in the closet. The pool by the villa allowed for some “me time” away from the more popular oceanside pool. Although parking is plentiful, I highly recommend taking the short walk to the casino across the street. Karaoke night was a blast, but my favorite evening event was the more elegant fire dancers. The photo op they provided was a nice touch. A few other things I loved: all the food was fresh and well seasoned, the coffee shop had several great items to choose from, and the gym was ice cold.
