Great location but everything else was just ok
Location is great! Hotel is set up well, lots of fun activities. But the service, food, and drinks were inconsistent. I would strongly recommend skipping the preferred club because it doesn’t actually get you anything different or better.

Average resort
Average. The service was responsive, though English fluency was not very good which made communication a difficult overall. This was fine for those of us that spoke some Spanish but for the older parents it was very difficult to ask for what they wanted. The food was sub-par but okay. The beach is only there as a checkbox on paper, in reality it is a pool- and tree- oriented place. We liked the monkeys everywhere.

Needs to up their game
No real benefits to being in the Preferred Club. They say there is preferred pool area on the beach and by the pool, but anyone can be in those areas so why pay more!! The food was not very good. Restaurant seating and service was horrible. You had to arrvie 20 minutes before opening and then not be sat for at least another 30 minutes. TERRIBLE. Once sat, the service was horrible. Dispite all this, we did have a nice time because we were together for Christmas. The Christmas Eve party on the Beach was very fun. The swim up room was also very nice.

Absolute paradise
Absolute paradise. Well worth the 1.5 hour drive from the airport. One of the most beautiful places we've ever had the pleasure to visit. Aside from the food being somewhat mediocre, every other aspect of our experience was exceptional. We made memories to last a lifetime and are grateful to everyone at Dreams Las Mareas who had a hand in making our experience possible.

Experience
The resort is beautiful the food is great, but wait at Japanis restaurant they tell you 1 hour and 30 min we waited over 2 hours and still did not get a tabel inside. The staff are not friendly at all. We traveled for New Year paid big money for the trip. The resort wants to charge you $200 US per person to get a tagel for New Years Eve. Very disappointed.
