Highly Recommend
Highly recommend! The staff were extremely friendly and welcoming and went above and beyond to accomodate our every need. The grounds are well kept, our room was clean, food is fresh, lots of selection, no reservations needed in the specialty restaurants. Our 7 year old daughter loved the splash pad, lazy river, water slides & kids club. Very family oriented resort. It's a smaller resort and there isn't a ton to do at night aside from the show and live music in the lobby lounge, but we were okay with this.

Great family vacation
Wonderful staff and great food. We loved all the a la cart restaurants and the buffet was also consistently good. The cafe was always a nice treat. The gym is simple but did the job and was very clean. We didn’t watch many shows but the ones we did watch we really enjoyed. Our family enjoys big waves and this beach delivered. It was a lovely family vacation.

Family vacay at Dreams Macao
We just returned from a family vacation to Dreams Macao Beach Resort and Spa in Punta Cana. This was our first time in Punta Cana and at this resort. We had an amazing time overall. We had a fair amount of rain, but often times it was just a few hours a day. We stayed in a preferred room (junior suite tropical view). Although we paid for a tropical view, we saw a lot of the ocean from our balcony. Each building has 4 floors and there is an elevator. The preferred lounge was just below us on the first floor. The room was very spacious. 2 double beds, small table with 2 chairs inside and outside. The bathroom was large and included a large bathtub and 2 rain shower heads. Preferred lounge: the preferred lounge was smaller than other Dreams we’ve been too, BUT it was very comfortable. It always had a nice selection of food, as well as a bar. We were in the lounge 2-3 times a day. It’s just a nice place to relax. All preferred guests are assigned a butler. You can send him messages on WhatsApp and he can help you with whatever you want. Beach: the beach was really nice, BUT the waves are very rough, so if going in the ocean is important for you and your kids, you might reconsider dreams Macao. Positive: no algae. There was a preferred section of the beach, but the chairs were farther back. Pools: the main pool near the beach is very large and has a swim up bar. A lot of activities take place there. There is a preferred adults pool and a preferred adults/kids pool, as well as another pool for everyone. Restaurants: we loved the French restaurant (Bordeaux) the most. The onion soup and lamp chops were excellent. The Italian and mexican were good also. Oceana had really good shrimp. We didn’t get to try seaside. The Japanese (himitsu) was our least favorite. The buffet had a really nice breakfast selection. I was told that it wasn’t the greatest for supper. Coco cafe was open 24/7 and had a good selection of sweets and coffee. Barefoot grill always had hotdogs, hamburgers, fries, tortilla chips, etc.. The food truck at the large water park had good tacos. There’s a bar there as well. Water park: what’s nice about the resort is that there are 2 water parks. A smaller one for younger kids, and a larger one for kids 9 and up. There is also a lazy river, which was really relaxing. Staff: I have nothing bad to say about any of the staff. They were all very sweet and accommodating. Entertainment: for a 5 star resort, it would have been nice to have better quality shows, but the circus show was very good. What is great about being in a preferred room is that we were close to the beach, the main pool, and the restaurants. In my opinion, preferred is the way to go if you’re going to a dreams resort. My family and I really enjoyed ourselves and would love to go back one day!

Good Vacation
Overall a solid vacation, but not fantastic. All of the staff is incredibly kind, helpful and genuine. Some of the restaurants were incredible, some were quite disappointing. All of the food surrounding the pool areas was great. Entertainment could have been better (greater variety of songs played near pool, more activities near the pool, nighttime entertainment needed help-confusing storylines/ dancers watching others bc they didn't' know the routine, broken props, etc). Beach area immediately outside of hotel wasn't suitable for going in, but beach 10 min walk down was much better. Alcoholic drinks were what was expected from all-inclusive- pretty watered down. Bathrooms were kept impeccably clean. Property shows wear and tear in some public areas and also in the rooms. Resort lost cold water on the last day of our stay. Our kids were in a different room. I would have preferred a suite that accommodated us all, or at least a connecting room.
