Entertainment Team is the best!
The entertainment team at Dreams Macao really put our vacation over the top! We have 5 children aged 8-16 and that team really engaged them and developed fun relationships with our children! My daughter LOVED Barbie and my son LOVED Teddy! They would pull them into their entertainment and give them lots of attention. The entertainment team was so incredibly talented and we loved interacting with all of them! Thanks to Johnny Bravo, Lindura, Moana, Rosa, Tairis, Sammy, Betty Boop, and Nina! The resort overall is beautiful - one of the prettiest locations and grounds we have been to! Loved the two bedroom villa option for our family of 7 and loved all of the activities for everyone!

Best Family all inclusive and amazing staff!
The highlight of the trip besides hanging with amazing friends is the staff for sure! Friendly and full of life they make you feel like family. Tatiera and Leonardo di Caprio (lol if you go then you will know) were especially engaging and made the trip so fun. I also had the best massage I ever had at Dreams Macao. I believe her name was Marisol. The food is ok but there are many options. The rooms are cozy and the room service is quick! This all inclusive is great for families and they make sure it’s a safe place for kids to be.

Awesome 4.5* Star resort. I recommend!
Background: Family of four (kids aged 9 & 7). We go to resorts regularly and have been to Punta Cana around 10 times - have also stayed at resorts in Playa Del Carmen. We did NOT get Preferred, and I don't feel like we missed out. Summary review: Awesome resort on an absolutely stunning but VERY wavy beach, with helpful & kind staff, good food at the a la cartes and lunchtime grill, good enough drinks, no mosquitoes, some entertainment by the pool but not a lot, and not too rowdy. Water slides & lazy river were a hit (120 cm minimum). I would rate the resort a 4.5*. Minus points go to buffet being fine but not amazing, and poolside/beach entertainment could be more frequent and better organized - the app times and reality didn't always line up. Full Review for the REAL researchers out there: You could tell this resort is relatively new (it's almost 5 years old) because staff still seemed to enjoy working there, everything was still in working order and looked good (aside from some water damage on the bathroom ceilings from poor ventilation), and the resort was well maintained. It's got a modern vibe while keeping some Island feel. Room - Ground floor, near waterpark & reception, building 5 Nice room. When we got to our room, the toilet was leaking a bit, so we talked to the front desk and by the time we came back from dinner it was fixed, along with our request for a rollaway bed to be put in the room. I found this to be fast service for a resort as I've been to resorts where you have to ask multiple times before something is fixed or delivered. The resort did not seem busy the day we arrived so maybe that played a part. The shower requires trust because there is a window that can be opened from either side, which doesn't lock so it's open access to anyone in the room. My kids thought this was hilarious. That said, I LOVED the shower. It's HUGE with a bathtub, two rainfall shower heads and two hand helds. We could have fit all four of us in the shower if we wanted to. There was an optional fumigation on the first day (not sure for what insect, mosquitoes I assumed) which they claimed was safe and odourless. We didn't opt out, but I also couldn't tell you if they completed it. Couldn't tell the difference when we came back to our room that day. Beach SO STUNNING. Clean both on the sand and in the water. No seaweed, crystal clear, (except on the super wavy days but even then it was barely noticeable), and just beautiful to look at with the landscape. It was red flag every day, but we went in no matter what. The beginning of the week was fun, and we used boogie boards that you can borrow from the tourist portion of the beach, but our last two days they wouldn't give out boards because the waves were big and it was too dangerous. The beach area in front of the resort has some rocks when you first enter the water, but once past the rocks there is a shallower, super clear area that my kids loved jumping in the waves from. My 7 year old needed help to swim past the deeper section and on the super wavy days it actually felt scary to be in the water with him. We could almost always find a shaded spot in the morning (around 10am). The tourist area (5-7 min walk down the beach) had a shallower entry with no rocks so we went there every day. It was always less wavy compared to the area immediately in front of the resort. Vendors were all respectful in front of the resort. More sales-y in the tourist area. The sand gets A LOT hotter than it does on the Bavaro beach since it is the light brown, rock based sand and not the white, coral based sand that Bavaro beach is made of. Food A La Cartes were overall quite good. I was nervous when I ordered a steak from the French restaurant but it was amazing. French, Italian, Mexican - all good. Seafood was a miss for us. Husband got sick from the mussels and is still struggling to recover. Buffet was nothing special, but everyone was able to find something to eat (spanish quiche was fantastic, I ate it every morning). Too much space dedicated to deli meat/cheese and cakes. The pastries were amazing. Cafe - Great. Snacks, ice cream and all kinds of coffee drinks both cold and hot. Food truck at waterslide area was great. Lunch time grill was solid serving chicken, burgers, fries, nachos, burritos and everything good (except the hot dogs, they tasted different than expected)! We ate here every day. The serving staff in every food & bar location were wonderful, friendly, helpful and attentive. I was very impressed compared to other resorts I have been to. Entertainment Evening shows were typical resort quality which is like 5-6/10. Some nights a bit better than others but the kids liked watching whatever was on. They start pretty late at 9:15. Most were held outdoors, and I didn't see any mosquitoes or get bitten (and I am usually the person covered in bites). They must spray. Daytime entertainment was a bit lacking compared to other places we've been, especially games/events kids could participate in. There is a kids club, but my kids didn't go as the activities they listed didn't interest them. The Dreams Punta Cana had great activities for kids comparably. There are tennis and basetball courts, as well as a zip line which you need to be at least 50 lbs or something. My kids were too small. The staff were really great, but some were exceptional: Baby Face, Samy, Ninja, Victor OG, Luis, Elias, Jhony Bravo. Pools/Waterpark There are a few scattered pools (two extra if you go Preferred Club), most were a good temperature to get in (one was really cold so we avoided that one), not much shade at the pools. Tough finding a chair by the main pool with shade by the afternoon, but we always managed to find one chair to put our stuff on. Water slides were great for kids 120 cm+, and my fully grown husband! I went in the (very) lazy river almost every day. Little kids water park (toddlers to 7 year olds) was a good size and had two sections. Gym My husband went every day and was pretty pleased with the equipment available, but he said it is not the best one he's seen on a resort. It's a bit small and tight. I hope this helps!!

Drinkers paradise or a teetotalers worst nightmare
Worst resort I've been too, food is mediocre, flies in restaurants, luke warm milk for breakfast, gym is way to small.. the best part of the resort was the shower and bed. Other than that, u need to be heavy intoxicated to enjoy yourself here.. the food will taste better and you will sleep so much you thay you will not realize their is no real entertainment. Better off going on a cruise
