Amazing vacation. All staff very friendly. From reception, housekeeping, restaurants and bars. Breakfast with lots of choice, variety of fruit. I tried to have lunch at the beach bar two times, but without success, it was always very busy and I had to wait a long time. During my entire stay I had lunch at the Pesqueiro Pool Bar, incredible food, the tempura sushi is the best, and excellent service from Bruna, always friendly and available. Cocoa's team is also very friendly, especially Vitoria. We loved having dinner at Oishi, a sushi restaurant. The Lobby's cocktail menu is fantastic. Very quick staff making drinks even when there are a lot of customers.

Arfat the goat 🐐
Arfat made amazing drink recommendations and left a great impression at the sports bar. Any football games you want played on the TV and great food. Went to the sports bar for the villa match but ending up staying all night due to great vibe and friendly staff.

Staff were excellent - really friendly and attentive. Cocktails were also excellent - particularly from Arfat and Mohammed at the sports bar. Arfat makes the best negronis in the resort!! Highly recommend! Great views down at the marina!

Fantastic
We had a fantastic time at The desire and the staff were excellent. Arfat and Rasel were very attentive. Arfat made sure we enjoyed ourselves by making fantastic drinks even some not on the menu while Rasel gave us plenty of good food to enjoy!

The resort is lovely and very much like a village with a church, harbour and the choice of restaurants etc. It lacked in three main areas, reception and evening bars and the main World Cafe. We arrived to a 3 hour wait for our room with no prior warning that you could not access till after 3pm to then be sent to wrong room where there was someone else's luggage, luckily they were not in room. Main bar at night could not cope with demand , waiting 45 minutes for 2 drinks and twice incorrectly mixed drinks with missing ingredients. The World Cafe was hectic and poorly organised, slow to restock on food and plates etc and generally very noisy. Food choice was okay but not brilliant. The specialty restaurants were great, especially the Japanese and Steak. Service was great and food excellent. Cocoa Coffee Bar was superb with excellent choice and service, as was the Sugar Reef bar at adults pool. Sports Bar was also good, as was Ice Cream Parlour. Beach bar was lovely for lunch but could get busy and then got a bit disorganised. Pools great, we only used adults pool so cannot comment on other but it looked good. For speciality restaurants you need to book on the resort app and you have to be quick, if you are awake at midnight do it then or early first thing if you want the full choice of times. You can book 2 days in advance so for first two nights we could not book any. There is a shuttle bus into Funchal which is 10 euros per person each way. You can catch the local bus right outside main gates and it's less than 2 euros each way but it does take over an hour but you do get to see more of the island. It was bus 133. In the main the resort is lovely and most of the staff are kind, considerate and very welcoming. It's in a lovely spot, and has the potential to be fantastic but it needs some tweaks to hit full 5 star, especially as we could see the difference in how the areas coped as it got busier over our 10 day stay. They will struggle in high season unless they adapt.
