The resort grounds were very nice and clean. We were preferred club and had Juan as our butler, he was super nice always smiling big, helped us out and went out of his way to make sure we were happy. Food was probably the worst I've had at an all inclusive. Some restaurants better than others. I actually found the buffet better than the restaurants. It wasn't terrible where I wouldn't go back, it was just fine. Service, for the most part the service was good. Most people were friendly. Shout out to Ismail at the preferred club pool. He's the best server/bartender they have and I'm including breathless in that. There were times I waited 10 minutes for a drink at the pool bar when no one else was there. Didn't make sense. Over at breathless too, I tipped over 70 bucks usd a day which is 100 canadian which is quite a bit of money but the service at the pool bars were lacking. It was faster waiting for the servers to come and I LOVE pool bars so that was disappointing. Beach area was beautiful with no seaweed. I usually go to Mexico and there is usually lots of seaweed at this time of year. This resort would be good with kids for sure. If I came back, I'd bring my kids next time. Overall, I was happy with dreams onyx just wish the pool bars at dreams and breathless were a bit better.

My sister and I stayed at the sister hotel, Breathless, but went to have drinks and dinner at Dreams Onyx. Punta Cana is by far my favorite vacation spot yet… And Junior at the Dreams lobby bar took excellent care of us!!! We absolutely plan on going back as soon as possible!

Highly recommend Dreams Onyx
I highly recommend this resort, family friendly, great service, extremely nice employees everywhere. Very clean everywhere you go all day long, Daily activities for kids and adults to keep guests entertained with different daily shows at nights. Good variety of restaurants and quality food. Specialty restaurants like Japanese and Italian are ok.

Wonderful Family Vacation!!
Excellent resort experience in the Caribbean. While it is almost a day journey from Canada, the warm welcome and atmosphere at Dreams Onyx is well worth the travel time. Upgrade to Preferred Class to heighten your experience with a dedicated Concierge person. Alvaro was just outstanding for our family group of 19. Kudos to him!! Varied restaurants, morning and lunch buffet centre, burger shack on beach, taco truck, ice cream station, sports bar, coffee place keep everyone extremely well fed! Exercise room is 24/7. There is such a fabulous beach front. Lots of waves to catch for body surfing!! Soft groomed sand for walking and playing on. Pool areas are numerous and we loved Preferred Adult Swim section and bar. There is a lazy river, with water slides to large pool. And a whole kids club we did not even get to! Property is gorgeous, pools, gardens, pathways and beach areas are clean and properly maintained. Bring small US bills to tip bar tenders daily and other denominations for bus driver, wait staff, housekeeping and your Concierge. Yes it is all inclusive but tips help staff enormously!! Highly recommend Dreams Onyx!! Downside? We did not love layout of our king room - sinks as soon as you enter with smoked glass door to a toilet cubicle and shower area. Plus it seemed our room was one of the last to be serviced daily. We did ask and were booked on third floor. Nice pool and partial ocean view, plus people walking by are not looking into your suite! Jacuzzi tub on balcony!

Best server on the planet
This review is for Danielvi. He was our server for the entire week. he was there every day and never lost the energy to keep us all going. He always greeted us with a huge smile and tons of energy. Our family wants to go back just to see him again. Especially my son. Keep it up, Danielvi. You rock my man!
