Dec 24, 2024Don't Say Ypu Weren't Warned! Stay away!
This is a VERY disappointing resort. We had so many issues here but I will keep the personal concerns out of the review and give a breakdown of problems everyone will face here. FYI we contacted customer service several times; while at the hotel and getting back. The MOST you will receive is an apology. We are preferred guests and treated this way, I cannot imagine how they do/would treat non- preferred visitors. 1. Upon arrival and check in, no one showed us where anything was. All we knew was the Preferred lounge and our room. It was hard to even figure out where the restaurants were. 2. I lost something in the room- they were likely taken into the laundry because it's white and on white bedsheets. I asked a few times for an investigation and after following up a bunch of times I just gave up. Something like this should be taken more seriously and at least followed up by someone. 3. Preferred rooms face terrible construction!!! This was never disclosed and we would not pay a premium price for the room ($604 per night) if we knew we would be facing and hearing construction throughout our stay. 4. This leads us to the next point that the whole property is very outdated. We have several pictures to show how this place has not taken pride in its appearance or tried to ensure that people are getting the feel of luxury. -Patches of paint missing everywhere -Signs of restaurants missing letters -Huge holes in ceiling -Dirty and bugs (cockroaches) throughout -We even found a rusted nail by the pool! (major safety issue ESPECIALLY with kids r running around) 5. The Food in the preferred lounge is very stale, mostly fried and looks like it just sits there all day. Very unappealing. 6. The Food in all restaurants are medicore to say the best. Tt's very obvious that food is just moved around from buffet to restaurant and likely reheated many times (also a very major health and safety issue here) 7. We don't even want to mention how awful the room service menu and food is. We had it once and even though we were hungry, we would rather not eat than have room service food. 8. One day we had a cabana by the beach and the lunch order took over an hour. Why does it take over ONE HOUR to get hamburgers and french fries? Terrible 9. The water bottles seem to be refilled and redistributed. I really hope that you are not doing this because this is just a huge issue and possible lawsuit here. Most of the water bottles we opened did not "crack" which means the seal was already broken. Some of them did crack so our assumption is that these are being refilled. 10. I would also like to mention the water pitchers at restaurants. Many of them have mold/rust/tarnish in them so we had denied water at restaurants because it could be unsafe. 11. Some staff were very nice but MOST were rude and not very friendly and always expected a tip or else they would be visibly annoyed. 12. The Photographer we had was by far the worst attitude of all. He did not look like he wanted to be there or even speak to us. I would not recommend the picture studio to anyone unless you had zero other choice and are literally forced. The attitude was just disgusting. 13. To mention some other MAJOR SAFETY ISSUES -The speaker by the pool is SO loud that it is for sure not safe for adults and you can obviously tell nowhere near safe for children/babies -People are walking around spraying CHEMICALS AND PESTICIDES by the pool. These substances can cause some horrible health issues and the staff were spraying them all over public areas where little children were running and playing.

We recently stayed at Dreams Onyx in Punta Cana for our wedding with over 100 guests, including our toddler, and the experience was nothing short of amazing—thanks to Francisco from the Preferred Club! Dreams Onyx Dec 14-21 - Nothing but awesome
Overall an excellent experience. We have done a few of the bigger chains like Royalton and Riu and feel Dreams is right up there, if not better. The food was great (the best resort food we have had), the room was great. No issues that were not quickly solved. The Preferred Pool was worth it. The service from the servers there, Nellis, Ismael and Javier was by far the best and really helped make easy day awesome. It was great to have access to Breathless for more adult entertainment at night. The entertainment at Dreams was more family oriented, which is great, but Breathless stepped it up a bit more. I would 100% recommend this resort to anyone thinking of going.

Alexander, animation team, he provides uz excelent service. Member of FunOnyxteam, very funny person. He made our stay memorable! Although not good weather we had very good time over here! Nice time here:-). We return here for sure, next season is booked for us;-)

vero was very friendly and helpful. we enjoyed the shows at night and all the staff was very helpful. the food was very good and we enjoyed the carnival buffet. the weather was rainy most days but there was many activities to do while it was raining.
