Love this hotel! Perfect for people that are Celiac or have other food allergies.
My husband and two adult children stayed at this resort from February 24th to March 3rd. We had two swim up rooms on the preferred club side and we loved it. This entire resort is kept very clean. The pools were a nice temperature. Usually they are too cold for me personally but I could actually get into them here. The waterpark was a lot of fun with slides, music, a swim up bar and a lazy river. Even though this is a family friendly resort you have to be 9 years old and there is a height requirement 4’6” to be able to slide down the water slides. We didn’t have young children with us so this didn’t impact our vacation. This is just an observation. There is a taco truck and cocktail truck just outside the waterpark which were both very good. The beaches were kept clean and we enjoyed our morning coffee/tea while walking down the beach every morning. Our favourite restaurants for dinner were the French restaurant (Mercure) and the Steakhouse (Bluewater Grill). We liked them so much that we went back twice during our one week stay. The buffet always had a lot to choose from. The Preferred Club restaurant had a menu you could order off of for breakfast and lunch, or you could walk right into the buffet and bring your food back to your table if you preferred to grab something from there. You have full access to the resort next door (Breathless) which is an adults only resort. We were so happy with our resort and had lots to do there that we didn’t go over to Breathless so I can’t comment on this resort. You can download the Hyatt app and get all the menus for the restaurants at both Dreams Onyx and Breathless which we did before booking this resort. Our butler Albert was great. He checked on us daily and was always there to help. The gentleman that refills the mini bar in the rooms was always laughing and joking around with us and he went out of his way to make sure we had everything we wanted and needed. Unfortunately, I do not remember his name. The ladies at Coco Cafe were amazing every morning. Lots of drink options as well as pasties, sandwiches and other baked goods. We also loved going for ice cream daily at Sundaez. The real rockstars of our trip were Yahaira and her coworker Santos. The day after we arrived Yahaira came to our table and introduced herself as the food concierge and asked us how we liked the food? During this conversation we learned that she could help us navigate through our daughter’s gluten free allergy as she is celiac. This was a game changer for us. Everyday starting in the morning she would text us through WhatsApp and ask us where we would like to eat, what time and what she wanted. She had everything from pancakes, waffles, eggs Benedict, omelettes and crepes for breakfast without the worry. For lunch they made her Alfredo with shrimp and steak. Once she learned that they had gluten free tacos at the taco truck that’s where she ate most of her lunches. For dinner she had ribeye steak, salmon, pork tomahawk, nachos, tacos, lobster bisque soup and crème brûlée for dessert. We happened to be there for Dominican Independence Day. They did a big outdoor celebration with Ribeye, lobster, salmon kabobs, shrimp, chicken, potatoes, rice, salads, 3 tables of just desserts…I could go on forever. I hope this review helps people with food allergies. I did a lot of research for a resort that my daughter could eat at and this one was highly recommended. They went well beyond my expectations in this department. I can’t thank you enough Yahaira and Santos. I can’t wait for our next trip to Dreams Onyx. Thank you again to all the staff there. You all work very hard and I want you to know it does not go unnoticed.

Great First Time All Inclusive Experience.
It was a great trip at Dreams! My first time to an All-Inclusive so I can't compare to any other resort, but we just had such a great experience. I love how it is small enough to walk to everything, but never felt overcrowded. It was a perfect resort for my 6 and 11 year old. The kids club I heard was not the best, but mine didn't attend. The French and Italian restaurants were awesome. We did get the preferred club so we ate breakfast each morning inside Tamarind which was nice! The staff were all very friendly (except one or two), but I didn't like that you were allowed to have vendors come up to you while relaxing on the beach and try to get you to buy things from them. It was an awesome time and I would try a Dreams resort again no problem! It was safe and clean and easy for us to enjoy!

Beyond Expectations. Simply Perfect.
When you think of a holiday in the Caribbean, white sandy beaches, perfect hotel, clear waters, great pools, and fantastic food and drink options and standards, one is often sceptical, however, Onyx Dreams and its location, services, staff, simply deliver. They don't just deliver, they excel! We stayed for 10 nights for out honeymoon and we could not have had a better experience, we will cherish it for all of out days, and will absolutely be returning. Thank you for making it such a special memory for us.

The best week at Dreams Onyx!
Family of 3 (one 6yo) I came to this resort with high expectations. Dreams Onyx fully checked my 3 top priorities: 1. Beach - I was worried when booking that this resort wasn’t on Bavaro beach but boy were my expectations blown out of the water. The beach was AMAZING and we spent 95% of our swim time in the ocean jumping the waves. BUT if you are looking for cristal clear, calm water with white sand - this is not it. 2. Cleanliness - this resort is ULTRA clean. Like you could eat off the floor in the hallways. It always smells like Papayas. Public washrooms are always extra clean throughout. 3. Service - AMAZING! The staff here was amazing. Obviously there are always exceptions but these individuals work their tails off and you will make friends! Be kind and tip them, they deserve it! There are always many Bartenders walking the beach to make sure your drinks are replenished. *shout out to the towel hut lady that always made me smile in the morning before heading to the beach calling me “my pink lady” - It’s the little things! Pools/waterpark - We spent very little time at the pools as we just prefer the beach while on a tropical vacation. That said the pools were awesome and we would very much enjoy the waterpark late afternoon before heading back to our room to prep for dinner. Cafe/Ice cream - so good! Those ladies whip up a fabulous cortado! Donuts still warm in the morning to accompany our coffee on our balcony! Buffet - Breakfast was our favourite and was quite good! Lunch and dinner did not wow me during my few walk throughs but I find buffets food mostly underwhelming so I did not have high expectations for the buffet food. Restaurants - I am a foodie, so again I’m being transparent with my experience here. Our favorites were the Hibachi, Bluewater (steakhouse) and we found the Mexican to be our third favourite. We did not try the Mercure or the Fair. Capers (Italian) and CinCin were not our favourites though my Daughter really loved the Pizza at Capers. The lunch beach grill was our go to for lunch most days and they made a decent burger with friends and or nachos. On one day, 2 were undercooked so we just went to get 2 more. Drinks were great! Hats off to Feliciano for making a mean Mojito at the beach! 👌🏻 Overall, I would return to Dreams Onyx without hesitation at the price point we paid.
