This was our 6th time here. We absolutely love this resort and will be back for Christmas. We actually tried a different resort for Christmas 2023 and didn’t enjoy ourselves as much as we do here. I recommend it here to everyone I know and have brought other couples with us and have had several coworkers go here based on our recommendations. Everyone has said they loved it as well.

I would go back !!
This resort has a HUGE pool footprint. They are everywhere. You won't feel crowded. Bar service at the beach and poolside is awesome. Very short waiting time. Rooms are super clean. Room service is free and fast. It seems everyone there is bi-lingual, so language was never a problem. Food was great. The only issue I had was with the beer selection. They had one selection only! That's it.

Great Drinks from a professional bartender and great food at Portofino
We travelled as a couple on the Secrets Royal Beach side and have access to the Dreams. While we were there we met up and chatted with Daniel R. It was nice to see him again. What we like is having dinner at the Portofino, but best of all is having a drink at the preferred bar where Isa the bartender is very courteous and fun to talk to. At one point he took the time to explain the differences between the Dominican Rums. He was very knowledgeable. Yes I bought a bottle at the airport. Will definitely go back for drinks and great food.

The best holiday ever !! Best hotel ever best staff ever
We had the best holiday here for my moms wedding. All the staff were absolutely fantastic and friendly which made our holiday even better . Angel , Jonathan , yafreisy castillo , Lucia , Carlos , jennifer , Alba , Andy , Sebastian and the beautiful lady (with green eyes )and the man she worked with on the bar outside the world buffet dolroia (grotto bar). ALLLLLL staff were fantastic hes just a few names I managed to get . Thank you all so much. I’m definitely coming to bring mom and dad back for there anniversary xxx Thank you to the cleaners and every single worker / service workers ❤️❤️❤️

We git swim out room, which was great. But overall experience was poor for what places like this usually are. Long needless wait times, needless discomfort, and slow careless staff. Smoking resort sucked and not good for kids. Swim Out Room- amazing to have our own day bed and pool, very nice area. Room was narrow and there were no closets. Uncomfortable as our clothes went everywhere and suitcases in the way. 2 small drawers. Fir a pool attached room, there were no matts and no pool towels. We had to go find them and floor was quickly wet. It was bare minimum room. Our AC broke 2nd day but was fixed. People complain of warm rooms and that AC is locked. The phone was ridiculous- scratchy noice and impossible to figure out. Only 1 outlet to charge devices. Not good place for romance- room toilet is loud, no main door, and has natural bad stink. Pee (and other…) sound echoes loudly into room. Toilet room small tiny narrow. Smoking- whole resort allows smoking, which really sucks. Thats NOT kid friendly. We had to leave beach as some guest kept chain smoking and ruined it for us. In areas the smoke just hits you and its just awful. Ashtrays everywhere. WAIT times are BAD. They are needless. We stood in lines watching slowwwww staff. 5 staff would stand around while one would slowly work. It was disrespectful and rude of our time. Worst at Portofino- you’ll stand watching lots of free tables and lots of staff with only one hostess checking you in (10 min wait). WAIT for gold carts between lobby is just as bad. We stood in hot driveway with diesel fumes nauseating us, watched 3 parked golf carts and 3 staff doing nothing, while only one works. 10 min wait thats preventable easily as means are there, but mismanaged so badly. Staff was mostly unfriendly. Rude. Would not acknowledge us. Some were nice but few and far between. Its like they hate their jobs and tourists The beach towels were never there and selectively left out. Little to no entertainment. The amstar tours were bad with long needless wait and we were dumped like trash in gas station. Dint book any. The pick up at airport was horrible- long wait, rude, diesel fumes and heat. It was like public bad bus. No respect, no comfort. Beach had seaweed. Preferred chairs were nice but we could not enjoy it due to smokers everywhere. Everywhere we went it just felt like we were not welcome here, made to needlessly wait (again staff was there but they make you wait and move slow or not at all). We were cut off by clueless staff many times while they chit chat between themselves. Its clearly mismanaged with unmotivated tired staff - fault of the corporate mismanagement - its clear workers aren’t treated well by hotel corporation Our keys kept not working The premisses were very nice overall. This is ok hotel for cheap (but it wasnt cheap), not a luxury all inclusive you are used to see in other resorts. Its ok for low expectations. Not customer centric. Mismanaged. Rude often (while some were amazing). Smoker resort bad for kids. We’ve done over 15 all inclusive s, thus one is towards bottom for price. Swim out pool saved our experience. Preferred section further out is not premium but disconnected and far from everything, with poorer service and poorer food options (but nicely quiet). Long gold cart waits. Walk through mangrove is amazing though and well worth it. There were no swim out options closer. Regretted being this far, but positives were quiet area with mangrove. Would not want to come back here. Food was meh. Not as good. Poor seafood selection. Little fruit variety. Food seems reused/dry at times. Lots of stews. Little shrimp , no lobster or octopus,. Sushi was very poorly made and not tasty. Its usual all inclusive minus variety or higher quality foods. It was degraded over years as corporate cuts corners
