Good place to have a vacation
This is our second time at this place. First time was 12 years ago. This time around we came with our son and family. The experience overall was good minus a few inconveniences that I will detail later on this review. One thing is to good to mention is that the staff makes a huge effort to make your stay pleasant. The best part of this experience was our server Edgar Reyes at the Sea side grill. He was very attentive and cordial the whole time we were staying there. He has a great attention to details and he is very observant, certainly someone who should be on a leadership position. The food was great except in a couple of occasions the world cafe had cold chicken and eggs. The other thing is that the loud music at one of the pools could be improved as it is constantly throughout the day. Events start late at 10 pm so our son couldn’t enjoy some of them. We stayed on the new side of the resort which was better than the colonial side where cleaning carts make a loud noise early in the morning. They were not standup paddle boards as most of them had their fins broken. No snorkeling available as well. Now the drinks have way too much ice so it washes off the taste. Even when we asked little ice they still put a ton. More vegetarian food is needed it on the restaurants that are open during the day around the pools. One night we had some loud wedding goers who disrupted our sleep for most of the night. We complained and it was address but certainly needs to be improved. Some people unfortunately smoke at the resort and for someone with bad asthma it is not good. Sales people are a bit pushy and it should be improved. Overall the staff works really hard to make you feel at home but again no place is perfect but I recommend staying here Thank you

Expensive hotel with poor service and food.
I first came to this hotel 14 years ago and fell in love with it. This time I decided to return with my wife and children. Totally disappointed. The service was a disaster. We came for Christmas and New Year's and if you don't pay 800usd for dinner, then you have no option to eat other than the Chinese restaurant. It is an all inclusive hotel that leaves you excluded. Besides that, the hotel is very run down. The quality of the drinks is terrible. The food leaves a lot to be desired. The best thing about the hotel is the entertainment team. Unfortunately we bought the ultimate membership that they sell to be part of the hyatt club. I do not recommend it at all. There are better options at a better price.

Disappointing experience
On our first day our room's ceiling was leaking , forcing us to change rooms. The new room ; the new room had its own set of problems- there was no hot water and we had to repeatedly call the front desk to get it fixed.Specialty restaurants were only open for dinner and not open ever night. The food at the buffet and specialty restaurants was not impressive , lacking variety and flavor

Dreams is nightmare fuel
Only go to Dreams if you are being dragged or there is nothing else is available. Even then, make sure you prepare for disappointment after disappointment. My honest opinion is that Dreams is only after your money. And even when they have it - you are treated like you spent nothing.

Great experience
The pools and beach were great, the food was as expected and comparable to most all inclusive resorts, the service was quick and friendly. Over all we really enjoyed our stay. Lots to do with kids/family but also lost of fun for adults in the evenings for a date night or partying
