A nice place that was reasonable and cost effective.
We overall liked the place, sometimes advertising is misleading like the 1200 US resort dollars, they are more like coupons, none of which we used. The room was clean, and nice, we had a balcony also nice. The food was plenty and overall good, but as a vegan I found it a bit challenging, even as vegetarian there is some limitations. The staff were lovely everyone is polite and works hard. Nice pools to access, the ocean is always lovely. A little challenging to get into any one of the restaurants as you had to call the day before for the next day, and somedays they were closed but we couldn't figure out the schedule. I overall liked it, I felt safe, could walk around and find nice shops, the golf course and houses around it was also a nice walk for us. It was economical and we enjoyed our time away.

Overall
Overall your resort fit the bill. Elpatio had great breakfasts, the Argentinian dinner was very tasty. The afternoon drink service was prompt , and the lunch menu was the right amount for that time of day. The room was always kept up and replenished as required.

Nice, but noisy
The property was nice enough, but it's certainly past its prime. Our room was very large (lots of empty space that could have been used for a kitchen, or a desk) and pleasant with a large balcony that faced a very noisy street.

Great place to stay if you like a quiet, relaxing vibe
For the most part, we had excellent service! We really enjoyed how we could head over to the other El Cid Resorts for some excitement - much more going on in the other El Cid resorts - and then we could return to the quiet, serene of our room and pool - which we had pretty much to ourselves! We loved it so much, we are headed back to El Cid Castilla Beach Resort in March - wanting to try an ocean view this time round!

sort of dissapointed
Our first time to El Cid resorts and Mazatlán. Fairly disappointed overall with the tired resort and the Granada. We always had to go to other resorts for meals after breakfast , mediocre food buffet, poor service , dirty beach. Staff is warm and helpful good location on beach but non stop mariachi bands and peddling made our vacation not very relaxing. Much better places to go but good value for the price. the beds were too soft for us so my wife and i had to slept in separate beds all week.
