Excellent hotel and staff
I stayed for a wedding and will definitely return. The hotel accommodations, pool, spa and service were excellent! I have to mention Reynaldo, the manager from Los Porches restaurant who was attentive and made sure that my Gluten free meal was safe, fresh and delicious! He was very thoughtful and helpful, from the bread to dessert, it was all well prepared. The front desk attendant Sharina was also extremely helpful answering the many questions I had and making sure that all my requests were fulfilled. It was a very good stay.

Great hotel for good cost
Lovely room, great price, $190 USD, we added a 3rd bed at no cost, single bed boxspring, thick mattress, nice linens grounds & pool lovely, yummy steak dinner for great price from fancy restaurant The only negative buffet was that the breakfast buffet was too expensive, but it was a lovely spread of food. They allowed us to order à la carte, so that was very accommodating. I will definitely stay here again when I am in Santa Domingo. Also, Uber rides were cheap.

A hotel to discover
A wonderfull hotel, rooms spacious, modern, very clean. The best is the received hospitality. A special thanks to Mr juan de la Rosa at breakfast. The pool is a relax place. At breakfast, you keep eating!!! The entrance hall is impressive. Really a very nice place for holidays, for business reasons, for couples.

One incident made a 5 go to a 4...
I visited Santo Domingo for an event last week and by far it is the best hotel that I have stayed at in SDQ, and I have stayed in many. The wonderful service started with my arrival. And I must apologize that I did not get most nomes. The person who took my bags from the taxi was very courteous and welcoming. I did not arrive at the hotel until almost 1:30 AM, so he was the overnight person. The person who checked me in was quite nice and welcoming also. The rooms are just beautiful and the bed is so comfortable. When I woke up in the morning, I realized that I had a city view and really wanted a pool/sea view. I went to the front desk to inquire and the person who helped me (His name starts with an A, but difficult to pronounce...at least for me), was quite nice and when I asked to switch, without missing a beat, he said, "Let me check". He was unsuccessful at the time, but told me exactly when to come back to check again. I did and got my wish! I also moved from the 5th floor to the 7th floor for a small fee. It was definitely worth it. It afforded access to the lounge (with the best food I've ever had in a hotel lounge). I could go on and on but I will suffice to say that the staff were all so nice and my experience was excellent until one incident. This made me drop the rating from a 5 to a 4. During my second to last day there I was rushing out to get into a taxi. A very young fair-skinned gentleman in a black suit (I think the doorman) and another fair-skinned gentleman in a gold top (I think the baggage handler) were at the door just chatting. Instead of opening the door for me as was approaching, as all other doormen did, they both looked in my direction as I was walking to the door and just casually walked away from the door while looking at me, purposefully (in my mind) not opening the door for me. It was quite obvious. They just walked to the side and stood there. I was quite insulted and deflated after that. Nothing is more hurtful than that. I don't like confrontation so I just opened the door myself and kept going about my business. All other staff were so courteous and friendly (honestly, I've never tipped so much). Barring that incident, I had a wonderful stay. The El Embajador is a luxury resort in the middle of a busy city, but because the grounds and pool are so beautiful, you feel like you are at a resort by the beach. I have to return to SDQ for another event in May and I am definitely booking at El Embajador! I will not let those 2 people keep me from booking here again.

A peaceful retreat in Santo Domingo
El Embajador is an incredible hotel surrounded by a beautiful garden. It also has a beautiful pool. The service is fantastic and the breakfast is probably among the best ones you will enjoy in a hotel. The rooms - and beds especially - are super comfortable. It is a great place to rewind in the middle of the great and busy city of Santo Domingo.
