  Not so great.

  We went as a family vacation, two kids (11,12) along with my husband and I. Check in was fairly smooth. The staff are friendly. My issues: Our first morning when walking to the buffet we were approached and were by the concierge team, he was wonderful and helpful but unfortunately it was all just to get us to sit down for the timeshare presentation. He was not honest, he asked if we could meet his boss the next day to give him a review of his service so he could get his bonus. He came knocking at our door at 755am that morning to make sure we would be at the coffee shop doors with our kids for 830. We ended up going and then leaving. The food is terrible, there is no flavour and it’s the same thing everyday. Everyday I had to track multiple people down just for a coffee and it usually didn’t come until I was down my meal. It gets so loud in the evening. We were in block 9 (last block) and we could still hear and feel the thumping that was going on from the front. If you’re wanting a family vacation this is not the place. Everyday you’re asked to upgrade or jut buy things. Everything seems to cost extra at this resort. Bottom line, we would not come back to this resort again.

  Horrible food and bad experience

  We have arrived on Saturday doe a week, the hotel is 3 stars one , room was ok but needed updating. The food was awful, dirty kitchen, loads of beef and chicken , bland and just not great at all. Breakfast was a nightmare and im not a picky eater. People working there were lovely, apart from one lady covering the concierge desk in bookable restaurants, a mean cow is an understatement. potentially homophobic. the worst part of the trip was the excoriations we have booked via the small office on site an italian guy sold as a trip that was an absolute waste of money, we were bullied by staff demanding tips and seen nothing they have sold on pictures, tour operator was on drugs and asleep the whole trip, the second trip to Santo Domingo was ok. overall it wasn’t great at all, for tge same money you can go to the nicer hotel. this one was located in the middle of nowhere and felt like it was surrounded by slams. The small beach was lovelly and team pf animators made us feel very welcome.

  God place to go

  Very nice place / but the buttler is a scam ( time sharring ) booking the restaurant is painfull ( buttler don t do that for Y , so why do y need a buttler he is only there in the morning and try to find him god luck. was there for new year it was fabulus , food is at the buffet is god. Dominicain resto is a out, italien is fine, mexicain is fine.Oriental was close because only half yhe restaurant was open; so y paid full money for half open.

  Could be better

  Stayed 22 Dec to jan19 The pros of this hotel it is very clean,the rooms are spacious,it is a walkable size,the sea is very calm and the beach is not as crowded as bavarro beach. They offer a variety of beach activities,yoga aqua fit and games. The staff are very hard working and friendly. The cons,upon arrival it took five days before they gave me a face cloth,bath mats were in short supply.it is very noisy at night especially when they have disco night the music reverberates as far as building 5. Doors slam thru out the night. The water pressure can be low and a couple of times cut off,the electricity goes out occasionally and the wifi is spasmodic. The buffet food was always tepid even though I arrived as soon as it opened. They do not supply facial tissues or body lotion and the shampoo is the combination shower gel and shampoo. People who had a swim out room said the water was too cold to swim in. If you go take ear plugs,shampoo and lotion. I had breakfast everyday before 7 am the coffee service is very slow,a couple of times people went up to pour their own coffee. They have already code scanner where you are meant to be able to reserve at the speciality restaurant,every time it said the restaurant was full, at 6pm they were nearly empty but no walkins allowed. The room fridge has 2 bottles of soda water (diet pepsi and seven up)and 2 little beers I've stayed at another 4.5 hotel and the fridge was full of a variety of soda This hotel is overrated at 4.5 it should be at the most 3.5

  Emotions Juan Dolio needs to improve service and kick out sales reps

  Our first impression was a good one. The site was clean and the staff friendly. However, when we tried to use the Internet it didn't work. I assumed it was temporary, but the next day was the same so I complained at the front desk and was told it would be passed along to the appropriate department. Two days later, nothing. I saw a maintenance worker in the hall and asked if he would test our internet, but he was unsuccessful and said he would report it. At the end of the week, we hadn't even received acknowledgement. Very poor service. Also the pool area has multiple sales people pestering to sell vacation packages. Overall not a good experience.
