Mediocre at best
The Fairmont Mayakoba means well, it really does. The staff service is polite, even slightly over-solicitous. The grounds are vast, well-kept and beautiful, but be aware that the distance from the pools and the lobby to the beach is about a mile. There are a lot of activities, it seems great for the kids, the spa is attractive with many treatment options and the adult pool is an oasis if you can find it. But the raccoons on the property are overpopulated and aggressive and the food is mediocre. I was there on business, and wouldn’t spend my own money to go back unless both of these items were addressed.

Fairmont Boat Tour
The hotel and property are amazing but we did the canal boat tour and Miguel was an excellent host. He was very knowledgeable and funny and it was an excellent way to learn about mayakoba, the history, different properties, cuisine, and wildlife. I highly recommend.

Fairmont Family Christmas
Wonderful resort, will absolutely return! We stayed at the Fairmont the first two nights of our trip and then moved to the Andaz. BIG mistake, the Fairmont is so much more superior! The rooms are gorgeous, bikes and carts plentiful and the food options far superior.
