AMAZING STAFF!
The hotel has rooms that are pretty average. They are clean and we had a balcony facing the beach that was very nice. The restaurants are not great. Pier 12 is ok. I had the chicken lasagna and I couldn't tell the cheese from the noodles, it was very mushy, my husband had the spaghetti and said the sauce is almost like a salsa but not bad. Sumo was good. The old barn is good if you pay to upgrade the steak. We didn't eat at the International. The tacos were great along with the breakfast and lunch buffet. The crepes were not bad. The message at the spa was nice. But what makes this place AMAZING is the staff. Ramona cleaned our room everyday and would leave flowers in the bathroom she was very nice and accommodating. The staff at the buffet Oscar, Sam, Marcos, and Carlos were a delight i feel like i made new friends! The did staff were always right there to help with anything. Martin is absolutely entertaining and a blast to be around. I will be going back for sure!! Can't wait to see my new friends again.

Brilliant week
Great stay at the golden parnassus for a week of sunshine. All the staff made the week even more special and could not do enough for us. The boys in the paradise restaurant were always super helpful and pleasant and went above and beyond to celebrate a birthday of ours. Special mention to Marcos and Gaspar and our favourite Oscar. Hope to see you all again. Sam and Clare

Same old place just older
I've been to the Golden about 8 or 9 times. It is reasonably priced and on a great stretch of beach. The pool area is nice enough. Umbrellas are available. Smoking is no longer allowed around the pool, there is a smoking area to the left of the Old Barn. The food is good, no complaints. Available 24-7. During my stay, the Shangri La was open once, the Old Barn and Sumo not at all. Pier 12 was open every day. There was a Mexican themed evening on Friday. I loved the potato salad and cold slaw. Room service was available though not always easy to reach by phone. There is now free wifi. The gym is great. Air conditioned. Two quality upright exercise bikes, one recumbent, 2 or 3 spinners, 3 treadmills, free weights, a universal. The rooms have become rather run down, the mattresses are very old and have caved-in on themselves. The room furniture is melamine painted white. At a minimum, the mattresses need to be replaced and this is long overdue. Housekeeping is good and take care of your room once a day which includes 2 small bottles of water. For me, the Golden Parnassus is all about its staff. My favourites are Gami in the kitchen, Carlos and Jose at the bar, and Carmen around the pool. They are good people who always make sure I'm taken care of. There are many other staff at the resort that excel at their jobs but the ones I have named are stand-outs.

The Golden Parnasus in Cancun - GREAT!
The Golden Parnassus Resort in Cancun, a medium sized all adults resort is great! The beach is about the best on the Canucn Hotel strip, and the staff is great and attentive! The all inclusive food and beverages are excellent! Though this property is a bit older now compared to other newer and larger resorts on the strip and could use a little "touch up" - it is well worth booking. You'll have a great time!

Love the Golden Parnassus!!
We just got back from our 7 night stay at the Golden Parnassus (3/18-3/25/25). We first stayed here in 1992 when it was the Playa de Oro. That was also our first trip to Cancun. We've been to Cancun and Puerto Vallarta over 30 times so we know the ins and outs of their resorts. The most important things to us are cleanliness, friendly, helpful staff, and good food. We weren't disappointed. We loved our week at the Golden Parnassus!! We reserved a Deluxe Ocean View Room. Unfortunately, the elevator wasn't working when we checked in, so Isaias at the front desk, upgraded us from the 5th floor to a Club room on the 3rd floor. It was amazing. The view from our terrace was breathtaking, the room was very spacious and spotless, and we had our own hot tub!! We had a safe for our passports and documents. It was digital so no key to drag around, which was great. (The elevator was fixed the next day.) Housekeeping was always thorough. Wherever we stay, we leave a daily tip for housekeeping because they work so hard. Several days we came back from our day at the pool and beach to an animal made from the towels. Also, the bellman (Sergio, I think) remembered it was our 50th wedding anniversary and brought us champagne on ice, champagne glasses and a fruit basket! Victoria from the Spa would walk around and treat guests with a free 5 minute back or neck massage. (if they wanted one) I received two of these massages. Trust me, they were wonderful and lasted more than 5 minutes. My husband and I had intended to book a couples massage for our anniversary, and this convinced us. Our couples massage was wonderful! We also reserved a private cabana with snacks on the beach for the day. Our server brought us drinks all day long and lunch when we were hungry. We felt like royalty! The bartenders at the poolside bar and beach bar were great! The beach bar had swings at the bar! Too fun! Say hello to Jose, Fonsy, Ricardo, Sebastian! Also, the women serving the pool area were great! I only caught Edith's name but all of them were awesome! The buffet was open for breakfast and lunch (say hi to Oscar for us). The specialty dinner restaurants had delicious food to choose from, and there was no need for reservations. Service and cleanliness was superb at all of the restaurants! We discussed how good our meals were every day. We are not night life people. But after spending every day in the pool or at the beach and drinking Palomas all day long, our evenings were low key. After dinner we either went to the Pool bar which stayed open late or we went to the lobby bar, which had comfortable chairs around small tables or couches. People watching is always fun. We would totally recommend this hotel! Cheryl & Ron Fritche
