We love it here! Home away from home!
The rooms are nice and cool. The showers are nice and hot. The views are fantastic. The buffet is great, along with the Deli and the pizza. I cannot say enough about the drinks. Delicious and beautiful. Most of the people are amazing and so nice. Isabelle at the jewelry store is so helpful!

Serious Safety Concerns
To be fair, let me note that Eduardo, Auri and Antonio who worked the pool bar were fabulous, accommodating and welcoming. Housekeeping was friendly and efficient. Front desk staff was mediocre with the exception of one disgruntled female who works at night. The food was ok, no better than any other all-inclusive. The hotel and especially buffet area was not temperature regulated, people were literally walking around dripping in sweat. All hostesses we encountered at the buffet were unwelcoming- no smile, no hello (unless, of course, you are a gold band member). There is clearly a hierarchy at this resort. If you are not a gold member, do not expect hospitality, friendliness, not even common courtesy. Immediately feeling the effects of the unequal treatment of “basic” guests vs. Gold Members, I turned my bracelet around, so I wouldn’t be treated according to my booking status. I reserved 3 rooms, spent thousands of dollars, tipped very well and didn’t deserve to be treated any differently than the next guest. I paid in one trip more than 2 guest would pay to be Gold Members for the year. The bar staff serving at night in the indoor bar were the most disturbing and offensive. The first night my daughter in law went up twice and immediately felt uneasy as they were making comments and trying to flirt as she placed her order. She was so turned off she had to ask my son to retrieve her drinks from this location the remainder of the evening. On our last night, i went to the same bar and was questioned why my bracelet was inside out. I turned it around to prove I was a guest and was served after ridicule from the bartenders as they laughed and spoke Spanish amongst themselves, clearly not realizing I can speak Spanish and heard them criticizing my family. Mind you, a young beautiful girl in a revealing dress stepped up to the bar subsequently and was served first despite me being there (no biggie). I then stated out loud that the girl was a minor (indicating her bracelet color) and added that they had just served her. I even had proof with photos. I guess that set them off because in a matter of minutes my party was surrounded then verbally attacked by a (glorified) bar manager of some sort. The aggressive man came over and accused us of allowing our 16 year old to drink. The 16 year old never went to the bar, all others in our party were 18 plus. One of our other sons asked the manager why they were pointing at our party and laughing and the aggressors became even more defensive and agitated. I am very curious to know if these employees are background checked. In a matter of minutes, we were surrounded by Security and the hotel called la policia. The security guard was staring and smiling at us with a very taunting expression that made us all uneasy. Mind you, with the exception of asking (in an even tone) what the problem was, there was no confrontation, yelling, cursing, or disrespectful exchange. Management then came and told us we were serving a minor and our bracelets couldn’t be turned inside out because a white bracelet means no service in Mexico. No problem. (SN-That doesn’t even make sense, I’ve never seen a white bracelet at any resort and I googled it and couldn’t find any evidence of this “fact”-why would anyone wear a bracelet not receive services, you just don’t get a bracelet, duh). When I explained to management the reasoning of why my bracelet was turned (bc they treat people different), there was no recant, making me believe she knows it’s true her staff discriminates. The main manager sent the policia away as she realized we were of no threat. With that being said, we headed back to our rooms. The experience was unacceptable, intimidating and borderline targeted harassment. After leaving, we stopped by the hotel gift shop where the women working were discussing (in Spanish of course) that we were departing the following day, then a woman got on the phone and security was soon right in the area, it was the most bizarre experience especially because none of us had even spoke to either woman about any of our personal details. I’m guessing an alert was sent out to all personnel about our presence, again only prompted because I mentioned the bartender had served alcohol to a child. The keys had to be reprogrammed a minimum of 4 times a day. (This is no exaggeration.)Our 16 year old went to get his key reprogrammed and was advised by his mother to record the exchange because they were clearly discriminating against our party and especially him. (He is of mixed race, idk if this is the reason but I don’t know what else it could be.) The video shows him kindly asking for a key and the front desk attendant begins flipping out telling him to put the phone down and he can’t record her (another red flag imo). At that point we started to feel our safety was in jeopardy, we read that many hotel staff members in Cancun have been proven to be in cahoots with policia and make deals so that the policia can take bribe money to “release”Americans once “arrested”. We knew these people had our addresses and personal information. None of us slept as we were in fear of retaliation. We each propped chairs against our doors because we truly don’t know what these people are capable of. One last gripe was when they told us there was no room to eat at the buffet. Please see the time stamped picture and all of vacant seats in the pictures attached. Turning us away from the buffet had the best possible outcome. We went to GR Caribe (sister hotel) for breakfast (twice) and dinner, and what a wonderful experience we had! All of the staff was accommodating, especially Ambrocio, he went above and beyond for our party and made us feel like family. The women who work for the vacation club are rude and give dirty looks every time you have to get off the elevator in front of them (unless of course you’re Spanish or a gold member). Oh and just a side note, the free shuttle that they offer is only for gold members (shocker). I don’t know if this is because Trump was elected and they assume Americans are terrible people, but I’ve never seen anything like this in my multiple trips to Cancun. Stay away from this hotel if you are looking for hospitality or even to feel safe and welcomed. Lastly, the “hot tub” is 85 degrees Fahrenheit, the same temperature as the air. I’d stick with Park Royal or another hotel if you’re looking for a nice experience, I’m sorry I didn’t.

BOOK AT THIS PLACE!!! AMAZING!!!!!
Coming from someone who lives in the USA and only stays at Marriotts, Hiltons and 5 star hotels and resorts, this place was by far AMAZING!!!!!! I do not have time to say all the exceptional things about this resort!!! When you arrive, you are greeted by the friendliness of the staff. They are all so helpful and welcoming. The girl who shows you around and helps you with the app, reservations, etc. is so sweet and adorable! Always has a smile on her face! The rooms were so clean and were cleaned daily. The cleaners made animals out of the bed sheets or towels! The kids enjoyed seeing that when we would come back up to the room for the day. Beds were comfortable, amazing oceanfront view! I loved the choices of places to eat. Staff at restaurants are very friendly and helpful! Food choices are good! All kinds of choices for adults and kids! Now to my favorite part!!! The ENTERTAINMENT STAFF!!! They made our vacation so much fun!!!! Nina, Gracie, Emmanuelle, Israel. Charley and Reuben! Brigette, Drew, Owen and Arley loved meeting you all and we will miss you! Thank you so much for making us feel so welcome and like family! The entertainment was by far so much fun! They always have a fun game at the main pool and awesome music! If you have kids, send them to the Kids Club!!!!! My children were begging me everyday to go there as soon as they woke up! The girls are amazing with the kids and they did so many crafts, pool activities, games, etc!! They are in great hands, so trust your kids to be safe with them!!!! GO TO THE SHOWS AT 9 pm everynight! You won’t regret it!!! The dancers are so talented and the choreography is amazing!!! I was so blown away and impressed! Being a dancer myself, I was in awe!!! This place deserves 10 stars!!!!!!🌟

Enjoyable visit!!
Visited GR Solaris Cancun on a Girls' Trip with my bestie and 2 others for her 50th birthday celebration. The atmosphere of the hotel was very inviting. The room was well-maintained with a great view from the balcony. The food was excellent and the staff members were pleasant. I'll definitely be visiting in the future.
