  Panama 2025

  Hot does not describe Panama. Panama beat us. Resort was nice, it's on a hill so there are lots of stairs. Mobility problems would be an issue. Some of the best food we have ever had. Always able to find a chair and there are lots of pools and the pacific ocean to cool off. Rooms were ok, would have liked the AC to have worked better but it was manageable.

  OK, but Fend for Yourself

  It's kind of got a "fend for yourself" vibe to it. We booked with the "upgrade package". Upon check'in it was more like checking into a hotel rather than a resort. We took our luggage to the rooms thinking that perhaps there was brochures or books of sort to explain the resort. There was not. FYI.. the lobbys are on the main level of the resort. The rooms are down a steep hill. Not a big deal taking your luggage down, but it is quite the climb bak up it. You can call for shuttle when u check out. We were not offered any sort of assistance when we checked in. Our rooms were quite dated but seemed clean. We had a difficult time opening the patio door and then were not able to shut it tight. Food was good. There is no mentioning of where/how you use the "upgrade restaurant". We went back UP to the lobby to ask what our upgrades got us.. I asked if there. was a flyer of sort that shows resort layout and upgrade features. I was told they do but only in Spanish.. Thats fine, would of been good if we got that on check in.. Pools were dirty. Some were closed most of our stay. Tons of Iguana poops round pools. Entertainment was minimal. Weather was great. Staff friendly once you get their attention. If you get a deal on $ don't mind figuring out things yourself its worth a visit.

  Impressed

  We were quite impressed by this resort. No lack of food, there are 3 buffets, so if one is full only a short walk to the next one. In between the buffet hours, there is a snack bar open from 11 am- 5pm. Served nachos and cheese, usually hamburgers and hotdogs and or chicken strips or chicken burgers with lots of toppings, salads, and some sweets for dessert. The resort is very big and a lot of stairs but, very easy to navigate. All paths lead to the beach or the the lobby. The staff for the most part were very friendly and helpful. The resort grounds are well maintained and clean. The only staff we did not find friendly or helpful, were the ones you book excursions through. They could not give enough information about what happens on the excursion, to make someone excited to go and to pay a lot of money to go. They just tell you to scan a QR code and or pass you a book. Not personally a pool person but the main pool is very large and pretty. There are several pools and waterslides on sight. We went to 3 a la cartes. The Mexical and Mediteranean were delicious. The cowboy steak house, not so good. The steak was tough, my side sounded fancy in spanish, but it was mac and cheese. The resort is very close to the airport ,less than 10 minutes. That's the good news. The bad news is, there is only a vending machine at the airport, that apparently does not work regularly.

  Family of 6 adults on vacation for a week in Panama! Absolutely beautiful!

  My family and I had a great time at the Grand Decameron in Panama! This was the most beautiful and clean resort I have ever been to. The gardens were mature with palm trees, flowers and giant trees over 1000 years old! The grounds were immaculate! There were many pools to choose from for spending your days! They were clean and at a perfect temperature to cool off! You could see the Pacific Ocean from just about everywhere on the resort! So many colours! It was beautiful! We went in the ocean everyday. Make sure to watch the flags to know when it's safe! Undertow was strong. This resort would not be a good place for people with physical limitations. There are steep hills to walk up/down to get to your room or many stairs to take! I'm disabled but can still walk and It really gave me a challenge to get to my room! We also learned to take everything down to the pool with us that we would need all day! There are little busses that go around the resort to give people rides. They were great! The food was just okay. The buffet always served the same things and there was no variety! Our favourite a la carts were the Cowboy restaurant , we had the best meals there, and the Italian restaurant. Funny thing, they had their menus printed on chalk boards so they asked you to take a picture of the chalk board before you get seated! Lol The drinks were also just okay! Some better than others. Our best drinks were from our lobby bar! (We upgraded to Plus so we had Lobby 3 as our main bar! The upgrade to Plus is worth it!) The staff were great! Friendly, willing to listen to attempts of us speaking Spanish! The drinking water was excellent! Bring your own yeti or arctic cups as the resort uses small paper cups and they fall apart easily. All in all it was a wonderful vacation for our family! We will always remember the views of the Pacific Ocean!

  Amazing trip to Grand Decameron Panama- we will be back again!

  Great trip overall! All the staff were amazing and very friendly throughout our entire holiday. All spoke English fairly well, we never ran into a communication problem. The bars were great and had an excellent selection of fun drinks to try. They were helpful in making a drink as strong/weak as you’d like! We had a garden view room that was located close to lobby 1, our balcony still had a nice view and we were very happy with the location in proximity to the breakfast buffet/nightly entertainment/cafe med. pool. The room seemed slightly dated but was still beautiful and the housekeeping did a great job cleaning daily. The food was AMAZING. We used 3 of the A La Carte restaurants (Mediterranean, Italian and steakhouse) and enjoyed our meal every time. The buffets were always great, with lots of selection and well labeled. Both at the buffet and the A La Carte restaurants they had items well labeled, even to specify certain dietary restrictions (eg. vegetarian) which we found very helpful. Booking the specialty restaurants were easy, generally the line was never too bad, maybe waiting 10min at most. The pools and beach were beautiful, lots of chairs available. Weekends it tended to get busy so it was hard to find spots with shade. Beautiful soft sandy beach. We were able to enjoy kayaking from the resort on our last day, most days though the ocean was too rough for any water sports. Wifi was okay, tended to disconnect randomly and was occasionally difficult to access but it wasn’t terrible overall. We were aware of the resort being large/lots of stairs and didn’t find it an issue. We enjoyed walking around/exploring the resort. Overall we had an amazing trip and would highly recommend to family/friends.
