Relaxing and Enjoyable Stay
My family enjoyed a relaxing stay at the Grand Hyatt. The decor was modern and tasteful. Customer service was excellent. The pool and beach areas were some of the best in the vicinity. Very good value! Convenient location to activities and the downtown area. I highly recommend this hotel!

Highly recommend!
This property was absolutely gorgeous and in a great location right on the beach in Playa del Carmen. Club lounge (ibcluded for Globalists) had very nice breakfast and evening apps/cocktails. Rooms were very nice and overall property was clean and updated. As a Globalist, we were entitled to 4pm checkout but not in the room we were staying in (which was a lock-off to another room where guests were expected to checkin) so we were relocated to another room, which was fine.

Perfect location, great hotel!
Our second time staying here - we love it! You can’t beat the location for a two block into town. We went into town each morning for breakfast and coffee and then back again at dinner. Pool menu is great for lunch - steak nachos and chicken quesadillas were our faves and the tropical ceviche also great. Service is very good - everyone is so friendly. Don’t bother with club level - the extra cost isn’t worth the lounge snacks and drinks.

February winter getaway in Playa del Carmen
Very clean rooms and nice modern décor. We loved the fact that we were close (1 block) to 5th avenue and were able to walk to dining and shopping venues. There are many dining and shopping options to choose from and if you decide to stay there, you will not be disappointed at all.

Very noisy! Currently under renovations
Positive: - the room is very nice and big - the hotel design is pretty - the staff is nice Negative: - the pool is so noisy with blasting music from the next hotel. - renovations next to the pool, noisy - even the spa is noisy with music outside. - very hard to find a sit by the pool. - there were children in the Adults only pool - the beach is public, not the most beautiful one, water is not clear. - there is limescale in the bathroom. - the toilet clogged even after they released it. - the food at the hotel is overpriced, for example guacamole and nachos 15 USD - at checkout check your bill! They tried to charge us for minibar and breakfast when they shouldn’t have.
