Great Staff
The staff at the Grand Isle are excellent. The resort is beautiful and everyone is extremely accommodating. I was there for my daughter Lauren’s wedding on December 14th. The weather did not cooperate for the outdoor wedding event, but the staff made it happen with a quick plan B. I would like to recognize 2 people who made a huge difference for us. Alecia was calm and kept us up to date on everything that was going on, she is an efficient coordinator and was always available to us. She never let a question go unanswered. Andecka, who usually works at the Palapa is an amazing and genuinely friendly person. She assisted me with all questions I had regarding food concerns or allergies. She is dependable and a hard worker. She also worked the dinner portion for the welcome party and was wonderful. She anticipated all our needs before we had to ask. The Grand Isle is very fortunate to have these 2 exemplary employees.

Disappointing experience with lack of empathy and consideration
Unfortunately, we had an extremely disappointing experience with the Grand Isle Resort. Our arrival at the hotel was disrupted by an unexpected strike by Bahamasair, which prevented us from traveling to Exuma on the scheduled date. The flight was rescheduled for the following day, and despite this being a clear case of FORCE MAJEURE, the hotel refused to refund or offer credit for the missed night. We contacted the hotel immediately after the flight was canceled, both by phone and email, but never received a response. When we finally arrived at the hotel, we were met with a complete lack of understanding for the situation, even after explaining that the flight cancellation was entirely beyond our control. We expected more empathy from a hotel like Grand Isle. The least they could have done was acknowledge that unforeseen situations can occur and try to find a solution. Unfortunately, the hotel’s inflexible attitude turned the start of our trip into a very frustrating experience. I do not recommend the Grand Isle Resort for anyone seeking respectful and compassionate service during difficult times.

Great stay!
Great stay. Smaller resort but tons of food and beverage options. Guest rooms are great and have all needed amenities. Full size refirgerators and full kitchens. Golf carts are available, but we really didn't need ours unless we needed to go to a drive to the liquor store. Hotel is about 20 minutes away from the airport, which is very small and is quick and easy!

Well maintained large villas and property.
The villas are gorgeous and well maintained. High end appliances with a washer and dryer which are great for a beach vacation. Housekeeping came daily at 10 am. The beach is lovely and the sand doesn’t get too hot or stick to you. Plenty of lounge chairs to go around. The greenery around the property is also well maintained and lush. It was a very quiet week. You don’t hear a thing. We slept well. If we had a problem, the maintenance guys literally came within minutes. We lost power a few times, but it only lasted for a few minutes. AC worked great and quiet. If you want to pay $30 a day, you can use your own private golf cart. We rented a car so we didn’t need it. There is no entertainment so if you’re looking for a Sandals type experience, you won’t find it here. They did offer something on Thanksgiving for the kiddos. Beautiful infinity pool. My only complaint was the food. It was not in MPO up to par with how classy the resort is. We had a few decent meals, but overall it could use improvement. The staff were all pleasant and courteous. Overall a very nice week.

You must stay here if you visit Exuma
The property is stunning. The staff was extremely personable and attentive. They always had a smile. Palapa was the only restaurant open since it was off season. The food was delicious. The beach and adult pool were truly breathtaking. The villas were spacious and very clean.
