Avoid This Resort – Dirty, Dangerous, and Untrustworthy
Our stay at the Grand Palladium Jamaica was a disaster from start to finish. First, there was a strong drainage smell outside throughout the property, making walking around unpleasant. The games room had smashed tiles, and I injured my foot on one. When it rained, the room flooded, and water poured out into the hotel’s tiled walkways, causing dangerous puddles. The entire hotel is tiled, and we witnessed both a child and an adult slip. The villas also had holes in the roofs, and rainwater leaked in. The resort is a building site, with constant construction noise and scaffolding everywhere, making it impossible to relax. The food was dreadful—especially in the Mexican restaurant, where I walked out after one bite. Room service was equally bad, with cold, inedible food delivered after over an hour of waiting. We also booked an excursion through the hotel, but the staff misled us about it, and the person who sold it to us was never seen again. We ended up booking a much better excursion outside the hotel. Between the smelly grounds, dangerous conditions, poor food, and untrustworthy staff, the Grand Palladium Jamaica is far from a five-star resort. Avoid it at all costs!

DO NOT BOOK
Our stay at the Grand Palladium Jamaica was a complete nightmare. The management is rude, incompetent, and dismissive. Whenever we raised issues, we were fobbed off with promises of emails and follow-ups that never happened. Our room was infested with flies, the toilet didn’t flush, and power cuts were constant. The rooms were filthy—crumbs in the bed, a dirty bath, and no blankets, only thin sheets. When we asked for blankets, they gave us two more sheets. Lucky us! The food was terrible, especially at the Mexican restaurant. We asked for mac and cheese for our son and were served penne pasta floating in oil with nacho cheese sauce. It was inedible. To top it off, my daughter woke up vomiting after eating there. There’s one rickety elevator, no lifts elsewhere, and you’re forced to haul luggage up three-story villas. Entertainment is repetitive, the property feels like a construction site, and they aggressively push timeshares and spa treatments during your stay. We were also mis-sold an excursion, but when we tried to address it, the woman who sold it to us was nowhere to be found. Her desk was completely empty for the remainder of our stay, so we had no way to resolve the issue. The management team was completely useless. The duty manager, Devon, the operations manager, Owen, and the guest relations manager, Clarine, all promised to improve our experience but did absolutely nothing. In fact, Devon was so rude he stormed away from us mid-conversation. He shouldn’t even be a manager. Their behavior was unprofessional and unacceptable. Compensation? They offered us a useless $100 resort credit only valid for premium alcohol, floating breakfasts, or food upgrades—not even spa services. The only positive was the friendly bar and restaurant staff, but they couldn’t save the experience. Management and guest services were a disaster. Don’t believe any “apologies” or promises of change—they’re empty. We’ve been told the same lies repeatedly, with no action. We’re just relieved to be leaving this godforsaken hotel. Do yourself a favor: avoid the Grand Palladium Jamaica and book the Riu instead. It’s worlds better. This is NOT a five-star resort. Save your money and sanity!
