    Don’t think I’ll return

Overall my stay was okay but I question if this hotel is 5 star. The food was good. Rooms not great. Not enough golf carts in the evenings, particularly when it rained. Chefs Elias and Santos in Poseidon were great

Was a great stay for a Family Wedding

We stayed with our kids (ages 10 and 12) for a family member's wedding. Overall, it was a wonderful stay. The resort is clean, service was prompt (for the most part) and friendly. A few items of note: Size: the resort is huge. Golf carts and boat taxis come regularly (with the exception of late at night) for transportation assistance, but there are waits at times. We ended up walking quite a bit, by choice. Bring comfortable shoes. Beach: Again, this resort is huge. GP also prioritizes nature, so there are a lot of greens throughout the resort, including on the beach. For both reasons you cannot see the ocean from most places in the resort grounds. This was surprising to me. Not a hardship, just not expected. If an ocean view is a priority for you, there are fewer rooms available to provide that. Or you may want to select a different resort. Once you are on the beach, there are plenty of chairs, you get service, and the beach is beautiful (with the softest sand) and clean. But it's a bit of a walk to the beach, even from the closest cart drop-off point. Food: Of the dozen or so all-inclusive resorts I have stayed at, the food was most consistent here. Plenty of good options at the buffet for breakfast, 3 lunch options and a lot of a la carte restaurants. We had no issues scheduling reservations, but due to wedding festivities we did not get to try as many as we would have liked. The steakhouse was great! Our kids loved the Hibachi at the Japanese restaurant. Fizz pizza was also good. Service: overall, was good. Room service was slow. Our entire group (over 30 people) had the same complaint. There was a bit of a bigger language barrier with some staff than at a lot of other resorts in the area. However, we are guests in another country and don't speak their language, so we cannot complain about that. Pool: The pools were very clean and well-maintained. No issues finding seating, they aren't stingy with the towels either. Bar service was good. Pool snack bar was fine- nice to have that option. The canal running through the resort with boat taxis was a really neat touch. Our kids loved taking the boat to dinner at night! The Rooms: When we booked, we wanted double rooms due to our kids ages, but our travel agent said that was not an option. I don't know if that is true, but we were concerned about sharing 1 room. It was fine! We had 2 full beds and the pull out sofa was king-sized. The bathroom has glass walls (and a separate shower and toilet area) with privacy screens. No issues with the 4 of us sleeping comfortably. Overall, we would recommend this resort for an all-inclusive stay. The staff also did an excellent job with the wedding (the decor and flowers were phenomenal!)

    A week spent well

We just returned from a wonderful family vacation week at Costa Mujeres. I’m calling out all the things that made our stay memorable. BEST: 1. People of Mexico- you are the real treasure of your country. Your hospitality, friendliness and your no-stress attitude truly make you stand out amongst other holiday destinations in the Caribbean. 2. Zentropia – This was heaven on earth. Shout out to RIO, our valet for the time we spent there for hydrotherapy. The spa is probably inspired by what Roman gods might have enjoyed. Our massages were something out of the world. 3. Kids Club – thank you for taking such great care of my 8-year-old. She had a blast and cannot wait to be back. Shout out to RAYNA to get the kids prepped for the Disney Show and the Circus. 4. The Mexican Party show was vibrant and colorful, and the dances were well choreographed making it a feast for the eye. We couldn’t partake in the Chic, but this show represented the country’s beautiful culture. 5. The property is beautifully designed and upscale. 6. The beach is an absolute delight. We were satisfied with the available seating options; however, it would be preferable if access to the cabanas reserved for "The Experience" audience, which often remained vacant, could be managed more effectively. GOOD: 1. Restaurants accessible by regular guests and lower strata members. a. Bhogali, La Adelita, Sumptuori, Portofino and Chang Thai. We visited similar restaurants in their Jamaica property, but the food was much better and the wait staff much more knowledgeable and flexible with dietary needs. Special shout out to CHRISTIAN at Sumptuori- We never thought we would have so many options for our dietary needs at a Japanese restaurant. 2. Member’s pool. An oasis of calm and peace. Getting access to the chairs/beds was made possible by the pool butlers JESUS and CARLOS with bookings made 2 days in advance and getting to the pool at 9 AM to mark your attendance- Thank you! NEEDS ATTENTION: Destination weddings can be very resource intensive. We had 2 weddings during our stay, making the transport carts, and Isla Blanca less accessible. Not to mention some unruly wedding guests disrupting regular guest experiences. Room Cleaning – Our rooms were not serviced for cleaning daily. During the 7-day stay, the room was serviced twice. We had to message the concierge to send someone to clean the room the day before departure.

    Relaxation and Wedding Fun!!!

Overall, a great stay. We enjoyed our week there with both getting in some relaxation and celebrating our friend's wedding. We really enjoyed the beach each day, and we had great service from Omar while relaxing at the beach each day.

Grand Palladium swim up bar is where it’s at !

We were impressed with Israel, Javier, Hugo, Neftali, Lizbot at the swim up bar. These guys go above and beyond to impress us and changed any drinks we wanted as well as made us stuff we suggested. Cool folks! The GP side is better than TRS as far as staff.
