Great week with the family
We came here with my daughter‘s family, including 9-year-old twins The Nest fed us very well every day. Hilda and Antonio were particularstandouts. Meantime at poolside, Carlos delivered excellent bar service. He is an excellent to come back.

Family of 11 staying for a week at Family Selection Grand Palladium Valllarta
The rooms ate very spacious. Even though we were at the very edge of the resort next to a fence with construction in the other sude, it was still very quiet. The food quality was excellent. I had the best Portobello Mushroom burger at the Family selection poolside restaurant. The bun was grilled Portobello mushroom with sautéed string vegetables and a generous portion of avocado. It got too much attention from the family members 😋. The service was excellent. The butlers Isaias and Yessica. Stationed in our building were helpful. Brandon the pool towel guy worked hard everyday to make sure all were supplied with fresh towels. The poolside servers were attentive and worked very hard to bring drinks and food. We loved the fresh air outdoor dining. The large beach was great to explore and take walks with he kids enjoying looking for shells and hermit crabs. The nightly entertainment was unique with Bingo hosted by professional dancers and an awesome Slient Dance Party. The only negative was the Palladium Rewards included Group transfer which provided poor instructions for the shuttle which does not look or wait for you at the airport. We needed up paying for an expensive taxi costing $92 USD. Overall I would highly recommend it for families especially a large group like us with 7 adults and 4 small children age 10 months to 3 years booking 3 rooms on same floor.

Great relaxing vacation
I enjoyed my week. I have been at this hotel 3 years in a row. This is the one time there were no problems.

This should be useful
A lot of subjective reviews saying the same thing, here are some things I wish I read before my trip here. For reference - Family of 4 with 2 kids, ages 6 and 10 from Vancouver, Canada. - Arriving at Puerta Vallarta Airport: Get past the tunnel of doom (timeshare bozos, say no gracias repeatedly and get past these guys), we went straight to the Authorized Taxi window (3 different windows side by side, all different companies). The resort is about 45 minutes away from the airport. We were quoted a different price by all 3 companies, starting at 2000 pesos, 1900 pesos and 1700 pesos. This is the price if you have more than 3 people in your party. Apparently, 4 people doesn't fit in to a standard car and apparently if you have 4 people, you have to pay more to get in to a bigger car. This is pretty much a scam, as we ended up getting in to a same size car as all the people with less than 4 people in their party. Regardless, these prices are kind of ridiculous. For reference, a taxi from the resort back to the airport was only 600 pesos. The authorized airport Taxis are the quickest, safest way to get in a taxi and be on your way and if you're a little intimidated by arriving in a new place and/or don't speak the language, you can bite the bullet and get one of these knowing you are about 45 minutes from drinking your worries away. Armed with a little courage and willingness to walk an extra 5-10 minutes, you can save yourself some money by walking over the pedestrian bridge to the other side of the street and taking a regular taxi. Having experienced Puerta Vallarta, I really don't think its any less safe to take these non-airport taxis. Just make sure you agree on a price before getting in. As well, you can call an uber on this other side of the street as well, though I don't have any experience with Uber in Mexico - Resort: Its nice. Picturesque, architecture and layout that fits the setting. Beach was great, constant waves were fun to play in. You can borrow bougie boards, but try to get one early in the morning because they go quick. You can always buy one, might be worth it to have your own for trip if you or your kids like to enjoy the waves. Pools were nice, clean mostly. People start putting down towels on chairs around the pool and beach early in the morning. You can't get towels down by the pool until 9:00, though they were 10 minutes late every day. The people who put down towels early in the morning usually get their fresh towels near the end of the day previously and keep them over night. That said, while I was there, there were still chairs you can reserve by 9, but not much later than that. Technically, you cant leave stuff like towels unattended for more than 30 minutes, but this was not enforced from what I could see. I would put down my towels to reserve the chairs, then go to buffet for an hour and it was fine. Kids club (called Mini Club) was good, you can use the app to reserve spots at the kids club, they can be in the mini club each day for a total of 3 hours. While you can put the kids in the club at any time 11, the actual kids club activities (1 hour slots) are usually at 11:00 AM, 3:00 PM and 4:00 PM. If you would like some adult time, ask front desk right away on how to book the mini club for your kids, and make use of the 3:00 and 4:00 PM time slots especially. I recommend hitting up the adult pool for these 2 hours, that pool has an amazing view and easier to meet/chat with other adults. If you have a daughter, there's a lady down at the beach that will braid her hair with different varying styles starting at around 300 pesos. Shows were good fun for the most part, worth the time to go for kids and adults. Food/Drink: Solid overall. Nothing amazing, but quality was consistent and more than fine if you're a normal person with normal standards. I only tried 2 restaurants, Las Terasaz (international) and Las Adelitas (mexican). Las Adelitas was better, and has an awesome view. Buffet was solid every day, with lots of options. Drinks were good. If you like stronger drinks, make use of the word "Fuerte" anytime you order a cocktail/highball. Tip for added affect on the next drink from the same bartender. I thought the sports bar was pretty crappy in my humble opinion. Didn't love the weird vibe in there. Fortunately, you don't really need to go in there. Though, the sports bar would be the only place to get late night food and drinks if you're up late. Maybe its better later at night, I was never in there past 10:30 PM. Tips: I tipped in Pesos. I basically tipped 20 pesos every other drink. I also tipped some of the food stations at thew buffet (20 pesos), and after every meal for the wait staff at buffet and restaurant (60-200 pesos). I also tipped housekeeping on my last night (200 pesos). You can tip in USD as well. Service: Staff was great for the most part, I would say 90% of them earn whatever tips you gave them, or should have given them. Shout out to Eduardo and Nataly at the kids club, Carlos and Gael at the main pool bar, Bernardo at the adult pool bar, omelette lady at the lunch buffet, the super nice guy making burgers and hot dogs at the pool lunch service (this guy is deaf) and the housekeeping staff. Room: Rooms were fine, didn't spend a lot of time in there. You can set the AC to 14 degrees Celsius lowest it can go. Beds were a little hard if you're used to memory foam mattress, but they do get softer if you drink more during the day. Rooms were clean. We brought our firestick down and was able to put it in the TV and access all usual apps on the TV for the kids.
