The worst hotel stay EVER.
The worst we’ve ever had. Filthy room, rude staff, awful food, oh.. and an item of clothing from someone else found in our room(?!). We’ve been on many family trips but this was just by far the worst. We had to check out halfway through the trip and find another hotel a short distance away, which is just what you want with a 5 year old and pregnant wife, right?

Worst Hotel Experience – Avoid at All Costs
Our stay at Hard Rock Cancun was absolutely terrible from start to finish. We encountered some of the worst customer service we’ve ever experienced. Upon check-in, we were given a room that reeked of mould, despite requesting a king bed, we were assigned a room with two double beds. When we asked to change, they tried to move us to an inferior room for one night without offering any compensation. Eventually, they claimed they had no other rooms, forcing us to sleep in the mould-filled room. The service throughout the hotel was atrocious. Every request we made was met with a flat “no.” We waited in line for lunch only to have other guests push in front of us, and the staff did nothing to address it. The food was bland, mass-produced, and far below what you’d expect for the price. Lounge chairs were “reserved” by 8am, though no one was actually using them. It all felt like a mass production line, with guests treated as insignificant numbers rather than valued customers. The wristband policy was another issue. We were warned that losing a wristband would cost $75, and upon checkout, they tried to charge us for the wristbands we had left in the room. When we refused to pay, six employees lined up to intimidate us, even going so far as to say security wouldn’t let us leave. It was completely unprofessional and left a sour taste. The one saving grace was the ocean view from our room, which was spacious and pleasant. Also, Deanna at the concierge was a rare bright spot in the entire experience – she was genuinely kind and tried her best to help us. Overall, this was the worst hotel experience we’ve ever had. Unless you enjoy bad service, bad food, and being treated poorly, avoid Hard Rock Cancun like the plague.

Merry Beachy Christmas
We love Hard Rock Cancun. The beach is amazing. The service from the pool waitstaff, restaurants, and bar staff is great. Our butlers, Jessie and Kevoy, were outstanding. My husband arrived sick. During our flight into Cancun, I corresponded with Kevoy explaining our situation. The check-in process went quickly, so my husband could see the in-house doctor. Jessie arranged a special Mexican dinner for the two of us after hearing we like authentic Mexican food. They are the BEST butlers we’ve had in all our Hall of Fame vacations. We have another trip booked with a group of friends Summer 2025.

Tropical Oasis: Exceptional service
It is always a great experience when we visit Hard Rock Cancun. The entire staff is very serviceable including, housekeeping, towel boys, inside and outside waiting staff. On this particular occasion Jessy and Kevoy went above and beyond and made our experience a wonderful one. Thank you Jessy and Kevoy. They organized a special dinner since it was our daughter’s birthday and they also organized a special lunch as well. The chefs have such great touch and our food was amazing. Thank you chef Manuel “muñeco” for such a tasty, delicious meals.

Hard Rock Resort Cancun….Amazing Experience!!
The Hard Rock is awesome! My family spent 5 nights at the resort. We had an amazing time! There are so many activities during the day, exciting night life and delicious food and drinks! The staff is so friendly and helpful. We had the pleasure of having Alexis and Manuel as our butlers while we stayed at the resort. They were phenomenal!! Very friendly and extremely helpful! They booked dinner reservations, reserved pool side chairs for us, informed us of resort activities and helped with transportation to our excursion as well as to the airport. If we had any questions, we just messaged them and they responded promptly with an explanation. I would definitely request them as butlers again if we were to go back! Five Star Service!!!!! We highly recommend The Hard Rock Resort!!!
