Perfect location to explore the island
Nice clean hotel with friendly staff and great location to see all the island has to offer. Celebrated our 35 anniversary and diamond members we were upgraded to an ocean view king room. It was fairly small but did have a window we could open to enjoy the fresh air. As others have mentioned we received $20 credit each day to spend wherever we wanted which was mostly at the tiki bar overlooking the ocean each evening. Location is perfect as it is next to a beach park for swimming, snorkeling and walking trail goes up and down the beach. They charge $25 per day to park but they have a generous parking area reserved for diamond members right next to most of the rooms. We loved the free coffee in the lobby as well. This hotel makes island experience easy by providing a cooler and fresh towels you can check out. The ice maker was on our floor as well as filtered water dispenser. Everything you need to explore the island was provided except the car. We loaded our cooler and grabbed snacks each morning and headed to a different beach or waterfall hike or Mountain View. My wife and I really enjoyed our stay and were always greeted with a smile from every staff member. Tip would be head out early before 7 to beat the traffic. Also several nice restaurants close by to check out. BV bourbon and ale house was our favorite but lemongrass grill seafood had great fresh fish dinner as well. Make sure to plan a day to explore Waimea canyon state park. Aloha

Great location but very dated property ; spacious rooms but some are very dark; poor service from front desk
Location - probably one of the best assets of this hotel . Located immediately south of Kapaa, this hotel is a short drive to many restaurants, and is located perfectly for sightseeing in different parts of the island - 1 hr drive to haena state park (for kalalau trial) , and 1.5 hr drive in the other direction to kalalau lookout in Waimea canyon area Property - reasonably nice beach nearby , 2 small swimming pools on site . It’s an ok property , just very dated , and extremely poor designed location for certain staircases . A renovation/ update is in order. Rooms - very spacious, but old , and some ground level rooms are very dark . I was assigned room 2131, which I did not care for . Room is dark, even with all the curtains open in the middle of the day. I killed one cockroach in the room during my stay, and saw a little lizard crawling on wall inside room - but then again, this is Hawaii - I won’t blame the hotel for the “wildlife” in my room Service - here is why I only gafe this place 1 star rating . Stayed here in Sep 2023, and again last week . Both times around , the reception from the staff at the front desk was lukewarm, and acted like they didn’t care about their guests. I know I should not whine about not getting upgrades , but I thought it was quite odd that twice in a roll, I got assigned undesirable rooms as a diamond member. One day into the stay, I got one of those (presumably automatic) texts from hotel , asking how my stay was. I replied that I was not too fond of my room , and guess what ? There was no reply from the hotel staff at all. If anyone from the hotel management is reading this , please work on training front desk staff to provide better customer service. Restaurant- breakfast was average , but two of the restaurant staff deserved recognition. I appreciate Evelyn greeting us warmly every morning as we approached the restaurant check in desk, and our server Joanne was hardworking and friendly .

Nice and clean with a very relaxing atmosphere
We stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn Kauai Wailua Bay for the last few days of our multi-island honeymoon trip. After checking in and making our way to our room, we were surprised to find a card, bottle of sparkling wine on ice, and chocolate covered strawberries for us. We popped the cork, poured a couple glasses, and headed out to our lanai to enjoy a drink and our strawberries. We had the perfect view of the ocean as we enjoyed our gift. Mamahune's Tiki Bar was maybe 100 feet from our lanai and we enjoyed a nice dinner there the following night. Our room and bathroom were clean, the bed was comfortable, the staff was helpful and friendly, and the hotel was in a great location to easily catch an Uber or Lyft to anyplace you wanted to go. We even got a chance to feed the koi in the pond one evening. This was a perfect place to spend a few relaxing days at the end of our trip.

TOTAL WASTE OF TIME AND MONEY!!
100% false advertising, do not go to this luau! We wasted $600.00 for a”luau” that was in doors with cold horrible food. I felt bad for the 7 or so performers putting on this show. This show is a scam!! I’ve been to a few luau’s and this is not one. I wish I could give a 0! DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME or MONEY!!
