Great short stay in a Junior Suite
We stayed at King's Land only one night on a two-week trip. We had a timeshare exchange at the Bay Club, which we like very much, then did a circle-island trip. We stayed at King's Land on a Hilton website hotel reservation basis for our last night before we left. We had a "Junior Suite" and it was excellent. It had a comfortable king bed, separate living/dining/kitchen, and there was enough equipment for the kitchen for most anything. We figured out that the microwave was actually a convection-microwave, so it is possible to bake in it. For almost any couple, the junior suite is plenty. I've stayed in a two-bedroom at the King's Land, and was surprised how well the Junior Suite met our needs. We got an early check-in at three, but I'd texted the hotel using the Hilton app to ask for that. We had time to swim in the adult (50-meter) pool, listen to some music at the bar, then go to our unit to have dinner, play Scrabble, and pack up for our trip home. The cost for a night at King's Land was little different from a basic motel in Kona. It was much nicer. The room description did not mention a washer/dryer. It was there in a closet, a pleasant surprise. For a longer stay, the full-kitchen 1-br or 2-br condos are definitely more spacious, but the Junior Suite was just fine for a short stay or for just a couple.

Best for spending the day at the pool, evening in suite
We were given a suite on the 2nd floor of building 22 which was so newly renovated the TVs weren't finished being set up... yet somehow the shower door hinge was already rusty and stuck. There was a number on the TV to text for assistance, but it was evidently for a different hotel called Kohala who didn't bother to pass on our request. The suites are generously sized, big balcony, kitchen, living, dining, laundry, bed & washroom. Had to cross the street in bathing suits to get to the pool though. Open until 10pm but the towel station closes earlier so go get your towels during daylight hours. Musical performances for a couple hours in the afternoon, too loud, did not need amplification, had to leave the area. I didn't see anyone having the buffet breakfast for $25USD. No one was eating or drinking in the pool area, they have no servers. Everyone clears out of the pool by 4pm, then the whole place is dead. Can't even get a drink or a snack in the evening. No room service. No Uber eats either. Plan ahead to buy drinks and food at a grocery store. The shuttle costs $5USD per person each way. It was a very beautiful, boring, and quiet property, except for the many young children stomping and shrieking every morning at dawn (along with the wild goats). We enjoyed the free entry to sister resort Hilton Waikaloa Village.

A Great Family Vacation
Kings' Land was fabulous, everything was perfect. We rented both a one bedroom and a two bedroom unit, both were large, clean and well appointed with washer/dryer, kitchen with all utensils, and bathroom bidet. We traveled with our daughter, son-in-law, and 4 grandkids, 5, 8, 9 & 15, everyone had a fabulous time. From the pools (numerous!) water slides and the staff I don't think we could have asked for more. If you need something, just call the front desk or leave a note for staff! They helped us with everything from where to find a stroller, ice while waiting for the ice maker to kick in, to extra laundry soap. We stayed in building 24, one room had a golf course view and the other had a parking lot view, but both included palm trees and beautiful landscaping in the view. The shuttle to the large pools was always on time, or you could drive yourself with plenty of parking. We also had a pool just outside our building with a nice water slide and several waterfalls. We took advantage of the Hilton Waikoloa Village and the lagoon access, the kids enjoyed the dolphins, snorkeled with turtles and lots of colorful fish. (Hint: ask Kings' Land staff about the lagoon, they have lots of tips, and there are elevators at the Hilton Village down the hall to the right by the tram tracks). We never felt pressured to attend a timeshare presentation, staff were excellent and so helpful. We spent 3 nights in Kona in a truly oceanfront room just a few feet from the ocean for $100 more per night and wished we had booked the entire trip at Kings' Land, instead of just the first 7 nights.

Hilton Grand Vacation
Decided to use my Hilton Points that I had available as well as American Airlines points for a free trip and stay to the Big Island. Picked this spot because it was a Hilton and had good reviews, we are not members of the resort/timeshare side of things, just a Hilton Diamond Member. Very clean, great accommodations, staff are very personable. The property has all sorts of shops and food options onsite, which makes it easy to find something to do during any downtime form traveling around the island, A great base to go anywhere, we travelled from the resort to Hawi, Hilo, Mauna Kea, etc. I would recommend!

Favorite Resort
This resort is our favorite. The 2 bedroom condos are very spacious, nice and clean. It was nice to have a washer and dryer in the unit. The main pool area was gorgeous.
