It's a very nice, albeit huge complex.
The Hotel is huge with several properties contained within the large area. There are many representations of quality Asian Art shown along the long footpaths between the buildings. It's so large that a tram is available for transport. It is slow, to be fair, but you certainly appreciate it. The swimming pools are nice and overall, the ambiance of the place is very pleasant. We had a proper suite with a full kitchen and enjoyed very nice sea views. Swimming in the open ocean is impossible as it is full of lava rocks, but there are salt water lagoons where you can swim. Very accommodating staff, the self parking rates of USD $48/day is rather rude, but the land is privately owned and it's truly nice work if you can get it. Hilton has tried for years to buy the carpark land off of the owners, but to no avail.

Incredibly rude, condescending sales staff
My wife bought a 5 day stay at the Hilton Grand Vacations Waikoloa village Sept 2024. Since then our lives change because of my VA disability, and I was forced to retire early. The Hilton facilities were amazing, however, the sales staff were horrible. They start off they're presentation stating there is no pressure to buy, that changed immediately after the presentation, I explained to the sales person that we initially wanted to buy into the timeshare, but because of my disability and forced retirement our finances had changed significantly. He didn't care, he just kept pushing and pushing, he wouldn't stop, it was extremely high pressure, I reminded him that in the presentation they said it wouldn't be. He finally got through his spiel and got his finance manager, he was very INSULTING and CONDESCENDING, with a very rude tone said to me, "You don't know what you're finances are going to be! Good luck! They didn't care that I was a disability veteran, that I was forced to retire so my finances had changed, they were almost hostile because I wasn't buying a package right then. So unless you enjoy extremely rude, condescending, high pressure sales people, don't go.

A lovely stay
We stayed here as part of a timeshare presentation with an offer of 5 nights for a very reasonable price. We were very hesitant because of all the bad reviews on TripAdvisor. When we arrived we dropped our luggage in the main lobby, my husband parked the car in the parking lot and joined me 5 minutes later. Very easy parking. We took the tram with the luggage to ocean tower , the rest of our stay we walked, a very easy walk under a shady walkway. We were happily surprised by a large room with a beautiful ocean view on the third floor. The room is one of the non renovated rooms, but it is perfectly comfortable and we enjoyed a lot of time on our balcony with a stunning view. The resort feels spacious and not overly crowded and the sunsets from our room were amazing. We saw turtles and all kinds of fish in the lagoon. We did not eat here, but found some local restaurants off the resort. We also enjoyed poke bowls from the supermarket nearby. Overall a wonderful stay at a great price. Definitely recommended!

Room needs updating
We stayed here February 2025 while my husband attended a conference. While there were some nice features of the resort, I don’t think I’d choose to stay here again. We had a room on the first floor of the Ocean Towers. It was extremely musty, and the AC never seemed to cool the room properly. We let the hotel know and they sent a maintenance person who “fixed” the problem, but it never got better. Also, the sink didn’t drain well. The hairdryer in the room was terrible. The floors were quite dirty. We killed multiple roaches. The room just seemed very overdue for refurbishing. Also, the tram was unbelievably slow. The boats seem to be permanently retired? The large waterslide on the property was closed the whole time we were there. The positives—the property is gorgeous. The sunsets even just outside our room were amazing. We enjoyed the larger pool. (The smaller one outside our room seemed very crowded.) The lagoon is really neat—we never swam in it, but we enjoyed spotting pretty fish and sea turtles from the bridges, etc. The dolphins were fascinating—we spent quite a bit of time watching them whenever we passed by. Even if you’re not staying here, it would be worthwhile to walk through the property to watch the dolphins. They seemed so eager to interact with their caretakers and trainers. (It reminded us of our yellow lab at home!) Parking is $48/day, so if you wanted to visit, I’d recommend parking elsewhere (like the Kings or Queens Marketplace) and walking from there. It’s not a bad walk, and there are great sidewalks on both sides of the road. It's not all bad, but there are nicer options in the area.

Never again
All the locations inside the hotel are badly connected to each other. To get in our room we had to walk that endless museum-walk which felt like a 20 min hike. There is a „train“ available that takes you to certain stops but it is ridiculously and unnecessarily slow. The a/c in that train is also terribly loud. There is only one parking area and that‘s also the only place where you are allowed to park your car. They charge you 48 USD (!!!) per day. That‘s just rude but they do it because they can! Also that parking space was quite far away. With all the luggage it was the first bad experience when we arrived. Then we asked for memory foam pillows but they just gave us different kind of standard pillows. For a pricey place like this, you would expect more. We left our room for several hours and our room was not serviced at all. There is an adult pool near the room we stayed but it closes at 8pm. Just why?! It‘s an adult pool. There is an Italian restaurant near the room we stayed but it is ridiculously overpriced. We wanted to do a sunset-catamaran-tour. A board said „2 for 50 USD“. When you read the information below (printed in small letters) then you only get this price when you attend a room-sharing-advertising campaign. Without that, you pay like 250 USD. What’s on the good side? Well, I enjoyed the coffee machine in the room. The mattress we had, wasn‘t the baddest one we had yet. So if you decide to stay at this hotel, be aware that you will do a loooooot of walking. The layout of this hotel is really badly done. Oh one more thing: while we sat inside our room with the backdoor open, a gardener did weed-whacking nearby and my partner got hit by a small rock. The gardener was really oblivious about his job.
