Lovely property - definitely book the Premium Panoramic OWB

A beautiful location for an OWB stay. Definitely splurge and get the premium panoramic bungalows as they give you more privacy. The check in was a bit chaotic with not enough staff to help people. We felt rushed. The full breakfast was amazing and truly had a plethora of items to choose from! Some final reflections and tips: - You cannot check in until 2 pm…Bring your swimsuit and find a lounger by the beach in the shade to relax until your room is ready. - No one escorted us to our OWB or gave us a tour when our room was ready….We were given a very brief overview at the front desk and then had to wander to find the areas we were looking for, including our Bungalow. - We were presented with a lovely Tiare flower lei at check in, cold cloth and a little shot glass of pineapple juice upon arrival….The front lobby was packed. - The OWB (room 105) where we stayed had a beautiful view of both the mountains/bay and ocean/sunset. It was a good sized room, great AC, but weathered. - The food at Rotui Grill was good. - Great restaurant staff and excellent included breakfast (lots of variety)…only the coffee was a disappointment…Use the coffee machine instead or get hot chocolate — Bella at omelette station and the hostess Rosalie (staff) were so lovely and very kind and helpful! - The Pool area is disappointing…there are not many loungers or shaded areas (especially while waiting to check in or after check out) and the pool itself is underwhelming. - The grounds are beautifully landscaped. - Snorkel early in morning before the current picks up…there are many types of fish to see. They are also very active at night so turn on the light below your coffee table in the OWB. We also saw a leopard ray one evening walking back to our room. - Truthfully if staying at this resort, only the Panoramic or Premium Panoramic OWBs are worth the price you’re paying. We did not feel like the garden bungalows would be worth the cost (and would probably stay elsewhere if you just wanted a regular room/bungalow on land/beach). - Their “refresher bungalow” after check out is simply the gym in either the Men’s or Ladies’ washrooms. This was disappointing as it was difficult to lock the door, the Men’s washroom Smelled and lacked space within. - The Hilton Moorea reusable water bottle we were gifted was a nice touch and there was easy access to water stations along the wooden boardwalk to the bungalows. Overall, we really enjoyed the rest and relaxation in our OWB, and the sunset views were beautiful. We were spoiled by our stay at the St. Regis in Bora Bora 8 years ago (both in setting, service and attention to detail)…it is a true 5 star experience. We would probably rate the Hilton Moorea a 4.5 star given the aforementioned reflections.

    Just wanted a little more...

This is a tough one for me as a Hilton Diamond member as I normally have higher expectation for this brand that just didn't always deliver for this property (definitely not a 5-star). Unfortunately, I/we also experienced the same poor check-in process once we arrived. There was literally only 1 person checking in around 10 couples by the time we got there...and no Hilton Honors line to check in (call me crazy but I expect that). That being said, once we finally checked in and got our room, our overwater bungalow was very nice if a bit dated but we knew that going in. The resort itself is very nice and we never had issues getting chairs at the pool or beach if we weren't hanging out on our bungalow. (By the way, if your going to stay here, just get the overwater bungalow as the other rooms are just ok. The other 2 couples we traveled with didn't get what we had and they ended up hanging out with us the entire time.) Food is ok. If I'm being honest, the Crepe restaurant isn't really that good...I would skip it if you're coming here. The only cool thing about it is at around 8:00pm when the blacktip reef sharks come out and swim below you...otherwise just skip it. The other restaurants are decent albeit pricey for what you get but that's expected (resort pricing for sure). We did stay for the Polynesian show one night and that was entertaining...big buffet with lots of options. I would just say that the customer service needs to definitely step up as it just wasn't up even normal standards (especially with how it compared to when we went to the Westin Bora Bora). Either way, just more attention to detail is needed here along with a big overhaul of the food. Just my $0.02.

A relaxing and enjoyable stay on Moorea

We visited the Hilton Moorea for 4 days after a cruise which ended in Papette. We stayed in overwater bungalow 109, at the end of the pontoon. This bungalow has a great view of the sunset and the water is about 4.5 feet deep so we could still stand, which I like. The king bed was comfortable, the rainfall shower was fantastic and there is a viewing port in the floor near the sofa to see all the colorful fish swimming by. The room has a Nespresso type coffee machine and a mini bar which is free and restocked daily. Make sure to visit the crepe bar and restaurant which is over the water for happy hour. The food is fantastic! I found all the food and beverages to be good and the prices cheaper that what I paid in Hawaii recently. The staff is all very friendly and accommodating. A few words in the local language or French goes a long way to establishing a friendly rapport. A big thanks to Oline, the front desk manager, for making our stay extra special. Also, Tehotu at the pool is one of the friendliest hotel employees I have ever met. He knows the local area well and gave me great advice on what to do and how to enjoy my time. He has a great attitude! In summary, the place is beautiful and we really enjoyed our stay. We hear they are planning a big renovation and can't wait to see the improvements. We will be back!

    Great views, awful food

Came here for my honeymoon. The check in process was VERY long. There were a lot of people arriving at the same time. While our room and view was absolutely beautiful, the food was AWFUL. I honestly couldn’t even believe a Hilton was putting out food that bad. Every meal we tried there was consistently bad. We ended up eating at the Manava restaurant down the road as they had AMAZING food and tried the Sofitel, too. For the price of the stay, they need to improve the food. The pizza was the worst I’ve ever had, the poke bowl was very mayo heavy and didn’t come with a lot of tuna, and their French fries were so dry. The breakfast buffet had a good variety but every single item was undercooked. So disappointed.

Horrible check in customer service. Consider staying somewhere else.

Horrible check in process. Felt disrespected, unhelpful and bad customer service. Couldn’t even escalate to get help.
