Feb 21, 2025Very relaxing long weekend getaway
Let me start by saying that before we came we had a few issues and concerns that were professionally and kindly dealt with by Angie, a manager at the hotel. Thank you, Angie! Everything that we needed was right there - a gorgeous view of the Gulf and sunset, the nice size heated pool for swimming, the tiki bar with great drinks, and the restaurant right there with good food and service. We found everything to be clean and well kept. Our room was newly renovated with wonderful bed linens and an array of pillows. My only detraction was the king bed was a little too soft. The location was very good with walkable beaches, stores, and restaurants right nearby with no need of a car. I would definitely stay here again.

Do not stay in this hotel unless you want to be transported back to 1998. This hotel is awful. We paid $1600USD for 3 nights for a gulf view room. You will see from my photo what this hotel classes as a “gulf view” room. The hotel is not just tired, it’s exhausted. The rooms are extremely dated, mix match furniture, uncomfortable beds, stains on the carpet all complimented by a musty smell throughout the whole hotel. There was only one elevator working when we stayed which by looking at previous reviews has been like this for some time. We were that upset with our room that we have checked out early and gone to a different hotel in Tampa. The staff here also need to leave some customer service skills as they were rude and abrupt when I went down to complaint about our room, maybe they’re used to complaints so just become complacent. This hotel has not been touched since the start of the last millennium. It’s overpriced for what they’re claiming to be. There are far nicer and cheaper hotels in the Clearwater area that you could stay at. We will not be coming back to this hotel and seeing as we are Diamond Elite IHG members to be treated this way is completely unacceptable.

Great location, even better customer service. Thank you Sole for your hospitality and for making our trip one to remember. Beautiful pool, clean rooms right on Clearwater Beach — what more can you ask for right on the water? 10/10 would recommend.

This place was not very welcoming when we arrived there late at night after a long trip. The staff didn’t speak very good English at the desk. There was blue paint tape over some of the buttons on one of the elevators and the other elevator wasn’t working. The chairs were worn and frayed. The door going out to the balcony was bolted shut and there was no access. It was musty smelling, and all in all seemed like it was out of the 1980s. We booked the Opal Sands for the next night and we’re very pleased with that place. Don’t book the Holiday Inn ever.

Don't bother........spend the money & go elsewhere.
Kind of a dump. Dated. Staff was friendly. Bar was good. No outside "stuff". Have a pool but..........just blah. Tiki bar closed. Parking no good. Had some sports team (20 somethings) on our floor. Slamming doors, loud, yelling at 3 in the morning. I say spend a few more bucks & go somewhere nice. Usually stay at Sand Pearl, but they were booked.
