Absolutely dreadful
Quite honestly the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. The doors didn’t lock and could be opened easily with a hefty shove which was advantageous as the key cards never worked. The decor was tired, shabby and dated and the hotel had a musty smell constantly. This may have been something to do with the bird nesting in the air con unit in the corridor of floor 5 which loudly chirped constantly and was fed by the staff. Luckily the sound of the chirping through the night was drowned out by the ridiculously loud air conditioning units whos volume resembled that of a small jumbo jet. Staff were rude and showed no customer service skills, presumably because complaints were a very common occurrence. The donut place in the foyer sold delicious coffee and donuts yet despite being advertised as closing at 5 they had usually sold out of donuts by 3 and the coffee machine was turned off and floors swept by 4.30. The pool area had a lovely view of the gulf but there were only 3 umbrellas for shade and the toilets were closed due to them being broken for our entire stay. Just dreadful, and expensively dreadful at that.

Would not recommend
We visited for 2 nights on our way through. The Holiday Inn Suites are dreadful - dated, not been touched since the 80s - tatty, chipped paint - a bed literally in the kitchen - aircon units that are louder than jet engines which need servicing and smell damp, consequently left me ill with sore throat and aches - can’t sit on the tired balcony as the air con units are there so the noise and heat is terrible - the pool beds I’ve not seen since the 70s Come on IHG this place needs attention or condemning!

Family holiday.
We stayed here for 5 nights in July 2024. 2 adults and 3 children. The hotel was clean, location is good and the pool was good. The hotel in my view requires updating and the pool could do with more brollies. Also there appeared to be many people using the pool that were not staying at the hotel despite the hotel insisting on us wearing a wrist band. Our main issue was on arrival we did not receive the children eat free voucher at the restaurant on site until our penultimate day. On querying this with reception gave us the voucher for the final day and a half and a free breakfast voucher for my husband and I. I was informed very condescendingly by both the receptionist and the manager that this was complementary as it was not part of my package. Complementary to me would have been a refund of the money we had spent in the restaurant and the voucher on top. Despite receiving an email directly from the manager to which I responded I have heard nothing further. Conclusion if the hotel is to remain in competition with the surrounding hotels it requires to up its game and the staff require training on being front of house. At this point I would not recommend this hotel.

So so probably great for smokers when you get a room at the bottom opening up to the pool
This is a mixed bag property. It definitely needs renovating. I have stayed there before, but it’s time to change the wallpaper redo the bathrooms. The one good thing is the bed was good. I don’t like the fact that we took the breakfast package and they wanted to charge us for our coffee and our iced tea For two nights and ended up being over $900. I don’t think this property is worth that the front desk extremely accommodating even helped us to the room with the bags as they don’t have a bell anymore. I had my daughter’s wedding there 15 years ago and the food was fantastic, hence my return there for a little weekend getaway with my friend. I don’t think I would stay there again.

Nice hotel and location!
Great hotel!! The room was very clean and the bed was very comfortable! We have a great view of the inlet and ocean. Walkable distance less than 5 minutes to the beach. Surrounded by shops and restaurants also within a very short distance. Jimmy’s fish house was their restaurant on property and it was a fun time! Good drinks and food. Pool area was a bit small but still worked out fine. They provided towels and have a pool bar. Plenty of seating. The hotel overall It is a bit dated but I like it. Kind of cozy and nostalgic. Small improvements could be made here and there but this isn’t a luxury 5 star place. One thing was the game room should be open late past 8pm!! I was disappointed I wanted to go play some games but it was closed at 8. Anyway, this hotel worked out well for our one night little staycation. Highly recommend!
