    BA drop this place

British Airways you must drop this hotel from your package holidays. Very outdated hotel with a load of issues, not fit for families. 1, No main lighting in rooms, lamps only 2 swimming pool has cracks on edge DANGER to children 3 busy on weekends with many guests smoking weed all over the hotel 4 Air conditioning is very old and makes a loud vibrations 5 reception staff do not respond to email’s questioning charges on my credit card. Only Two positives good location and room cleaned daily. Did not expect such a poor hotel being advertised on BA. 😂 Florida was great just a shame about this hotel.

    A really bad hotel

Firstly, hotel in a great location (a 2 minute walk to a beautiful beach). Other than that, it’s a pretty poor hotel. Staff are miserable, unprofessional and just plain rude. Rooms were pretty basic, smell of damp in our room. I have no idea what the $240 resort tax is for! You already pay for the room and it’s not like they particularly maintain the hotel or grounds. A small pool where half the sunbeds are broken. Looks very tired, old, and just not worth the money. I’m not sure if jimmy iguanas bar/restaurant is part of the hotel or an independent company but the staff there are a joke. We could regularly hear them arguing with each other. They would often stand together and make very personal comments about the customers (including us). Despite us spending an absolute fortune there and always leaving a tip. In the end we refused to go there and went elsewhere. Would not return to this absolutely garbage hotel in a million years. Further note: I politely asked the reception staff exactly what the extra resort tax is actually for, seeing as my room didn’t get cleaned the entire week we were there. He should shrugged his shoulders and even laughed and said “that’s a good question, I have no idea either”. He is supposedly contacting me regarding a partial refund of these extra taxes, I doubt this will happen. Don’t stay here

    Ridiculous resort fees

Just visited Holiday Inn Harbourside Been here numerous times but now there is this horrible resort fee for WiFi not needed parking not required and also for entertainment didn’t go due to better acts in local bars So $254 charged for nothing over the week.Did get our room Clarice during the week which seems a bonus. Get your act together and scrap these silly money making fees. Also get someone to check pool area to replace towels to save ourselves and reception staff getting fed up asking

    Broken arm, broken promise

Stayed here for 2 nights in August 23 after staying many times previously. Booked a room for 2 adults and children (7 and 5). Unfortunately on the first night our son (5) fell off the bed and broke his arm. (The beds are extremely high and not really suitable for young children). Spent the first evening in the hospital and then of course no swimming for our little boy so a very different stay to the one imagined. We didn't kick up a fuss or anything and accepted what happened as an accident. A duty manager who dealt with us at the time told us to get in contact next time we visit and they would "look after us". We were happy with this and took no further action. We made contact directly last month for our next trip in August this year and received an email back saying sorry for the accident last year and an "offer" of a room rate for our 3 nights. Well the "offer" was more expensive than any of the normal online agents we use to book hotels! Thank you very much! I emailed this back and got no reply. Seriously?! Basic good old fashion guest relations is urgently needed here. I would welcome some direct communication back on this.

    Showing its Age

We've stayed here many times, but this was the 1st in many years. Had 2 reservations with different rate types and asked them to let us stay in same room both nights, which they did. Was upgraded to 2 floor room, but it's getting harder to go up and down stairs so I may request the best possible one floor room, if there's a next time. The 2 floor room would be much better with a half bath (toilet) on the lower floor. Tub looked good and must have been refurbished recently. For my status, I receive breakfast. It was better than expected, but the staff the first day were too preoccupied with their personal lives and shared many stories from just inside the kitchen area. I am not a fan of the resort fee, but since it included parking, I felt I got at least some ROI. Staff were ok, but the wifi stopped working a few hours after our arrival and didn't work for about 24 hours. When I inquired the first 2 times, I was told it was my phone! Finally, someone admitted that it was not working! I had my server plan so I was able to connect but don't like to waste my minutes. Some of the wooden planks in the 2nd floor walkway seem to be on their last day so I hope no one falls through! All in all, a good stay. They still provided bottles and soaps and had no squeeze bottles as most place do nowadays. The last hotel I stayed in like this left IHG the next month. I wonder if this hotel is going to be demolished for condos or totally redone. I hope the latter. Also, enjoyed seeing the many birds on and near our balcony overlooking the intercoastal waterway.
