Very New and Clean: Perfect for one night stay near the airport
Hotel very close to the airport but a complicated walk. Taxis are cheap (about $10 if you use the overpass footbridge for unofficial cabs, $20 with "authorized" on-airport cabs). Hotel does not offer a shuttle. Upon check-in, we were upgraded thanks to my IHG status to Room 701, a beautiful end of hallway suite with a commanding view of the golf course and surrounding area. The wall to almost-ceiling windows of the corner room had views in two directions. The wall-to-ceiling curtains were electric, sensitive to the touch as well as a wall-mounted switch. It felt very pampering. The room was divided in half with a king bed facing the harbor and city to the south. The other half of the divided room had a sofa/couch (not very comfortable) facing a large screen TV. Sharing the wall with the TV (only CNN International is in English) is a kitchenette with microwave, mini refrigerator, coffeemaker (one cup size), small sink, and one bottled water. Plates, cups, and silverware for 2 were in the cabinet. Wish we would have been provided more than one packet of regular coffee and one set of powdered creamers. Other than the sofa, there as only one other chair, a desk chair, so not a lot of places to sit. The narrow balcony ran the length of the room and had two plastic patio chairs and stylish table; it offered a lovely view of the golf course and pool area, though the the busy street below was noisy well into the night. The large bathroom area had an lovely oversized shower, double sinks, and a toilet behind frosted glass doors. The toilet paper was high quality scented, a nice touch. Dove toiletry products in bulk sized dispensers, very nice fragrance. Wish we were provided more than the bare minimum number of towels. The A/C and lighting were very good. The only inconvenience was the lack of outlets or table on one side of the king bed. The building appears very modern with the latest in energy saving devices. We had lunch by the pool in mid afternoon and it look over half an hour for the food to be delivered. The staff are super nice and friendly by the pool snack bar but she seemed confused as to how to charge it to the room (language issues?) so we paid with a credit card instead. At check-in the friendly clerk asked if we wanted to prepay for the breakfast buffet, which was 209 pesos each and we said yes. It was ok but nothing special except for the made-to-order omelets. Also at check-in, we were given a card "good for a drink and a snack" due to our IHG status but when we inquired at the pool bar and at the restaurant, we were told it was EITHER one or the other. We opted for a can of Coca Cola as we were told it had to be non-alcoholic. I recommend you redeem it at the gift shop where there is a wider selection and the clerk may be more familiar with how the card works. There is a large grocery store called Mega Soriano in a shopping center about 7 minutes walk across the wide, busy street (though there are crosswalks at the traffic lights). One final tip: the air-conditioned exercise room is well equipped and was being used each time I visited. There is filtered water there for refilling our water bottle. If you need a one night stay, this is a great option with everything you need in house. For a longer stay, suggest you go closer to the ocean where there are more places to walk and more amenities nearby.

Great Time in Puerto Vallarta
We stayed for 6 nights and had a great time. The staff here is fantastic, from Nancy, front desk manager, to the Aldo's that work in the restaurant and Alyssia, the massage therapist. We got a gorgeous room. The breakfast is not complimentary but it is not that expensive and the food is delicious. There are many traditional Mexican dishes plus many American dishes, plus eggs made however you want. There is a cross walk close to the hotel and it is easy to get across the street to the marina. Or just watch what the locals do, to cross the street, and do that.

Best Italian Buffet in Puerto Vallarta
The best Italian Buffet in Puerto Vallarta. Waiter Luis is awesome, very friendly, speaks English very well and very attentive to customers' needs. The best dinning experience I have ever had in Puerto Vallarta

Great hotel but pool in rough shape
We have stayed here twice. The staff are wonderful, super friendly and helpful. The rooms are very clean and comfortable. Unfortunately the pool is in rough shape. Large sections of tile are missing in the pool. Small bits of tile are at the bottom of the pool. The water is murky. The pool wasn’t like this at all last year.

What Odds!
In November, my younger, taller wife and I spent a week at the Holiday Inn and Suites Marina and Golf resort. My younger/ taller wife is 30 days younger and 2 inches taller than my 1st wife ( passed ). My 1st wife and I visited the Holiday Inn in Puerto Vallarta 27 years ago. The property has been sold and the Marina and Golf Resort is the new standard bearer for the Holiday Inn in Puerto Vallarta. I enjoyed my 1st stay at the Holiday Inn in 1996. Over the last few months, I told my younger/taller wife that I was really looking forward to staying at the new property. My expectations were greatly exceeded. The new property is in a fantastic location close to the Marina districk of shops. Check in was fast and seamless. The lobby has an open concept and is well furnished. Peace and comfort welcome you even in the busy times. The staff were kind and professional. Rodiego who works at the front desk was a pleasure to speak to on every occassion during our stay. Neftali and Betulio who work in the dining room are the best waiters that I have ever had the pleasure to meet. My wife and I both developed friendships with these gentlemen. We are looking forward to retuning just so we can spend more time with these fine people. Come on 2024 trip. The food at the hotel was very reasonably priced and the chiefs are superb. We enjoyed a complamentry buffet breakfast every morning and a delicous supper every evening. It was great we never even thought about eating anywhere else. The pool and gym are located on the 2nd floor. The outdoor pool is a welcome relief during the hot part of the day. The pool deck is very large and can be used for multi functions. Alberto the pool bar server was another friendly and thoughful employee of the hotel. I enjoyed all of my contacts with him. Laundry facilities are also on the 2nd floor and easy to ccess. Little did I know that my expectations would be blown out of the water. Who knew that I would meet people who worked at the previous Holiday Inn during my trip in 1996. Thanks to Betulio and Alberto it was really cool to learn that we met back in 1996. What Odds? I highly recommend that you visit this property if you are in the beautiful city of Puerto Vallart.
