Fantastic holiday
Excellent hotel clean good food choice of restaurants and great entertainment. The pools are great and always got a sunbed for all the family. The town is only a short walk and has enough to keep you busy. Local bus stop has regular buses. Not much of a beach but it’s ok I would recommend the hotel and area we have booked again for August 25

Don't believe the negative reviews.
We read mixed reviews about this hotel, and there were a lot who loved it, and there were haters. Complaints ranged from unfriendly staff to poor food choices. Staff: Could not be friendlier or more helpful. Bar and restaurant staff were always happy to help. One complaint said, "We were ignored by waiters." There is no full waiter service, don't be lazy, get your own drinks! Food: It's all-inclusive, buffet style, not cordon bleu. It is what it is, perfectly acceptable. Manage your expectations, and you will not be disappointed. That said, if you have nut allergies, be careful as some dishes do contain peanuts or cashews. The Griill in the evening isn't great but the Mandalay is well worth a booking. Pools are heated, with the exception of the infinity pool, which was freezing in January. Adult only pool is a bun-fight, with people getting up very early to lay claim to a sunbed that they have no intention of using for a couple of hours. Towel-gate erupted, after lifeguards (independent from the hotel) removed some towels. This resulted in guests accusing the new occupants of moving their towels. A "no towel" policy should be strictly enforced. The hotel grounds are up and down, so bare this in mind if you have mobility issues. Entertainment is, well, sometimes good and sometimes "interesting". The Neon Night was very good! A trip to the Hard Rock Hotel's 16th floor bar is a must to watch the sun set! All-in-all, this hotel does exactly what it says on the tin, especially for families. The room we had was very comfortable and clean. Well recommended!

Five-star excellence - everywhere.
We stayed for a short break, four nights all-inc, in January 2025 and we encountered 5-star quality...everywhere. Out of dozens of all-inclusive hotels we have enjoyed, the Riu Buenavista was by far the best. Riu standards and hard to fault, and we found nothing to constructively criticise. There were no queues, anywhere, the buffet food was great with a wide selection of delicious dishes, the Friday night White Party was sumptuous and the Riu team are the best anywhere. Congratulations to you all.
