My husband and I recently took a trip to Cartagena to celebrate his birthday. We stayed at the Hyatt Regency Cartagena and had a great experience! CHECK-IN: Sara at the front desk was very nice. Check-in was smooth. My only suggestion would be for the front desk to go over the amenities (restaurant locations, pool locations, elevators, etc.) ROOM: Our room was AMAZING! We had a Club Room with a bay view. The view was breathtaking. Andreina, our housekeeper kept the room so clean and even left cake in the room on my husband's birthday. FOOD/BEVERAGE: With the club room, you have access to the Regency Club which offers breakfast 6:30am-10:30am and small bites 4:30pm-6:00pm. The variety was more than expected! We ate at Kokau a few times. Food was good, wine was ok. It's better to pay by credit card than cash (you will get charged the bank rate exchange). POOL: There are a few rooftop pools which allows you to see the sunset every night while enjoying a drink. Ample seating as well as some loungers in the pool, which was very relaxing. EXCURSIONS: There is an excursions desk in the lobby. We bought a tour to Mangata which consisted of a speedboat to an island that had a beach club. We had a waterside cabana and a delicious lunch while enjoying drinks and snorkeling. The staff was amazing! We also did a sunset tour around the bay which was nice but the drinks were horrible! Pay by credit card! HELPFUL TIPS: Exchange cash for Colombian pesos. The airport gives you the worst rate. There is a place next to the hotel who has a better rate. However, if you go to the Walled City or Getsamani you will get the best rate. Always ask the cab driver how much before getting into the cab. Airport should be 28-30,000 pesos and Walled City should be 15,000 pesos. Wherever you can pay by credit card, do so! There is a supermarket around the corner from the hotel. Buy a bottle, mixer, and snacks. It's cheaper! Get a Club Room, it's worth it!!! Visit the Walled City, Getsamani, 7 Cielos - great places to check out!

"I highly recommend the Hyatt Regency for anyone traveling to Cartagena. Its location is unbeatable, with a mall, supermarket, and numerous amenities all within walking distance. The hotel itself is splendid—spotlessly clean with a warm and friendly staff that goes above and beyond to make you feel welcome." You wont be disappointed here.

Nice hotel in Cartagena
I was in town celebrating my bachelorette weekend. My stay was good but the a/c in our 3 bedroom residence was not working upon arrival. They came to service it and left some vouchers. We appreciate the promptness. The room was large but smelled a bit of sewer. The hotel felt safe and the ambiance was nice.

Excellent stay!!
Excellent location and a great stay at the Hyatt Regency Cartagena. Staff was very attentive and great. Will definitely stay again. Cleyder Reales, the Front Desk Manager, was especially great and made sure my stay was awesome and I look forward to returning.

Hyatt Regency is 100% recommended
This hotel was randomly chosen with little time for research. My girls trip of 8 were very happy we chose them. The hotel is clean and beautiful. Staff were excellent. The rooms were very nice. I've already posted on Facebook promoting this hotel. Breakfast buffet needs more options. That's my only complaint. I would choose ocean view over bay view. Rooms are slightly bigger, but both are nice. 100% recommend 👍
