Construction Noise Nightmare
Avoid booking this hotel for the next 6 months, there is major construction right next door. I paid around $400 a night for a pre-holiday break, and they put us directly above a new hotel construction site. we stayed in room 4017 on the 40th floor and the daytime noise was unbearable. I can't imagine what lower floors would be like. This seems to b the only hotel in the whole Waikiki area that has major construction right next door so please stay away. There was a tower crane right outside and major concrete pours daily. Website are not warning you of the major construction and the hotel did not give any warning when we made our reservation. If we could give zero stars we would.

Old tired 50 year old property, not updated lately
Hotel old and not updated, AC is not effective . Penthouse suite was hot and damp.. maintenance came and set it to VIP mode to cool the room to 72f and remove humidity. The penthouse was old and tired, furniture was uncomfortable and sparse. The room was more expensive than our next room at the Maui four seasons

Friendly and convenient beach resort for surfing and shopping
As part Polynesian, I love the warmth and beauty of this very Hawaiian, very local beach resort. Most staff there were locals and they are very friendly and welcoming (and they danced to the tune with great hula moves too). They made us feel us we were home away from home. We loved the for dancing and hula dancing show some evenings at the hotel atrium. We also enjoyed the farmers markets within the hotel twice/week. The regency club was super helpful in answering all our questions regarding certain activities, sports and restaurants that we were interested in. The location is also perfect, just across the street from the beach. It’s overall a happy place for family vacations or honeymoon.

Well appointed hotel on the beach
We enjoyed the hotel quite a bit. Very nice proximity to the beach, nice chairs to take with you, lovely staff. Preferred club breakfast was good, hors doerves were ok. General manager Eron Hodges and the housekeeping staff greeted us with a delightful birthday treat. Should we return to Waikiki, we would definitely stay here again!

Hide Regency Waikiki consistent
Have been a repeat customer at this hotel for more than 20 years. Always very consistent helpful and courteous. Herbert Regency club breakfast needs substantial improvement in the menu. Should be offered alternative hot choices. Would like to see the return of complimentary headsets available in the fitness Centre
