Worst Holiday Ever at Hyatt Regancy Resort and Spa Waikiki

Hyatt Regency Waikiki, what a disappointment we booked a package holiday through My Hawaii in Australia all-inclusive. When we arrived, Hyatt took $500 Us or $1000 Aud out of our travel money even though all fees were paid. We were told 7 days after we leave it would be returned. As pensioners, we had a budget for meals etc, and to lose that amount out of it was devasting. Then we were given our rooms 1251 and 1268, both backed onto the lifts and were classed as King City View. 1251 looked over a new building project, which probably has still another 2 years on the build. The work started at 6.30 am and finished at 5.30 pm including Saturday. The noise is unbelievable, grinding , jackhammers, forklifts beeping, etc. Then, of a night, the lifts rattle and beep with the doors banging closed. We went to reception and asked for another room but were told none available away from the building side. Reception had no interest in helping us just kept saying, " So sorry, but we have rules." If you are thinking of holidaying here, stay away from the city side of the building. It's probably our worst experience ever, and we have travelled all over the world.

Birthday Getaway was Amazing at Hyatt Regency

The Hyatt Regency was such a treat for my Birthday Getaway. This is our second time visiting and it never disappoints. We had marvelous service by Grace. Upon knowing we were here for my Birthday, we were automatically upgraded to an Ocean Front Room. Along with that, she sent a bottle of Champagne, Juice and Goodies to our room and also gifted us with Drink Vouchers. Grace was an absolute delight and made my Birthday that much more special. Thank You Grace for such beautiful Gestures. We will definitely be back. 5 Stars All Around. Thank and You!

    Average/OK stay

What they charge for the resort fee is not worth it. It said frozen treats by the pool and there were none. It also said it comes with a bicycle rental credit. We did not get that either. The water bottle is plastic. We were expecting a metal water bottle like at Atlantis in Bahamas. Not sure how plastic is eco-friendly. I think the hotel is OK. I just think it’s way overpriced and the resort fee is ridiculous. The location is great. And being able to use the beach chairs was nice. I just think there are better hotels for the money in Waikiki.

    HYATT ... DON'T TRY IT

Not happy with my stay. Ocean view should be Ocean view, not looking directly into the next tower with an ocean view to your right. This should be a partial ocean view like most hotels advertise. I had to pay extra for what Hyatt called an Ocean Front Room. Room design is horrible, bathroom is not fully private. It's an open design which is fine if your don't need privacy. The beach is located across the street from hotel and was small and crowded with locals and others from nearby hotels. The hotel pool is small for a hotel with two towers at 40 floors each. The Ocean Front view was however spectacular but not worth the upgrade fee. I was very disappointed needless to say.

    Best trip ever

The hotel had an amazing view, we were able to see the beach right from our balcony. The front staff was so accommodating and pleasant, they exceeded my expectations. The breakfast buffet had great food and the staff was so kind. We had such a great time during our stay.
