Stay in November
Luxury half-butique hotel with excellent restaurants. Koodos to the chef, everything is delicious, even buffet feels like a Michelin restaurant. Rooms are spacious and nicely updated. Good pool area. Bars are stocked with medium range alcohol. Beach is clean but wavey, so sea swimming is very limited. Lovely staffing. Special thanks to Alexei the best butler ever, that did everything and over to help us and to feel welcomed. Coffee shop staff, Juan and Luz, are great and variety is excellent. Entertainment team is doing magnificent job, Ann and Sandra, and Yunuel is super funny and lovely. shows are good and entertaining. One point for the management to consider, covered passage between hotel wings and main area - it was challenging in rainy day. Strong 4.5 stars. Will come again if the management will improve sea swimming with wavebrakers. Tip -20 min beach walk to the left to little cenote, worth try.

Beautiful and relaxing vacation
5/5 Excellent My husband and I stayed in a tropical view swim out room and it was worth the upgrade! The pool was very private, had a peek of ocean view and was perfect for relaxing. The room and bathroom were spacious with lots of storage. The mini bar was well stocked and we did get room service one day and it was quick and tasty. I found the bed really comfortable and you had the option to change pillows etc through their housekeeping app. The restaurants at the hotel were amazing (however it was confusing on when the buffet was open) and the food was fantastic. Lots of choice at the buffet at breakfast and Lola Grill and the beach bar were awesome for lunch. The desserts were all really, really good as well as the tacos! The coffee shop was a huge plus and we went there a couple of times a day! The bars were all well stocked and the employees at the bars and coffee shop were awesome. There were always tons of chairs by the pool and on the beach. The activities were fun, but not too crazy. The service by the pool and on the beach was excellent as well. The beach was gorgeous white sand with tons of space for everyone. The water in front of the hotel was a bit murky, but if you walked 5 minutes to the right, it was crystal clear, not too wavy and so warm and perfect! You can wander forever along the beach. We had an early arrival and weren’t able to get our room until 3:00, but we were able to use the facilities all day. Sales pitch at check in isn’t pushy, but did happen.

calm, beautiful, relaxing stay
We had a wonderful week at Hyatt Zilara Riviera Maya. We liked how relaxed and calm the resort was, and how beautiful the grounds are on arrival. For a girls' trip focused on relaxation, this was a perfect stay. There were plenty of activities and the entertainment staff were so great (shout out to Dulce, Ana, Sandy and Yuni). There was a good balance of active options, crafting, and shows to keep us entertained when we wanted to move off the loungers for a bit! The beach was sandy, soft and clean, though we didn't swim in the ocean because the conditions were too windy. We had a couple days indoors because the weather was poor, and the staff worked hard to keep us entertained and fed - we really appreciated how great everyone was. The food options were good, we definitely ate at Lola Beach & the snack bar the most. The teppanyaki was a very fun experience and the meal was delicious - I highly recommend booking it! We also really enjoyed the drinks at the Social lobby bar. The bartenders made us anything we could think of off-menu. The espresso and iced coffee options at the cafe were also very good. The concierge team was also very helpful whenever we had any questions and when we needed help with our excursions and airport transfers. Thank you especially to Edgar!

Would definitely return!
We loved this resort. Beach is powdery sand. Food was good, drinks yummy and not watered down. Room was very nice. Bed and pillows were amazing. This is not a new resort so it’s showing some signs of wear and tear, but it is still beautiful! Pool water was perfect temperature-not cold and not hot. Palapas for shade on the beach are challenging to get sometimes and it would be great if there were more. Service is top notch.

Nice resort, AC works
Overall nice resort. We had been there 10 years ago when it was Secrets Capri. I feel that overall it hasn’t changed a lot, but I feel that the service/food was better when it was a Secrets. We had a swim up room and it was very nice. I thought the bed was very comfortable but my husband said he struggled, as it was too soft. The bedding/blankets were fantastic. All of the rooms have a large fan, which is awesome! However, beware as there is only one speed. The AC is also fantastic! Coolest room I’ve ever had in all of my trips to Mexico. Check-in and check-out was very easy. There was a mess up with our room but the situation was quickly rectified and we were offered an upgrade. Pool area was nice and offered activities daily. Also the pool music was good, without all that techno thumping, and they changed it up every few days. They had live music a few times during the week. Nightly entertainment of some kind is offered. Some in the form of shows or games. Music offered every couple of nights in the lobby bar. Mexican night is the best, don’t miss it!!!! Great show and great food! Beach is a decent size and has a good amount of lounge chairs and cabanas. Waiter service on south side is not very good, so try to get in middle ot to the left if you are a beach person. Beach bar has swings. Service was decent. Next to that is an ala carte snack bar . They had wood fired pizzas and other snack types. Their hamburger is very god and the fries are delicious. Nachos are good also…and it’s not a huge serving.. just right. Tempest-the Hibachi restaurant is fantastic. This was the best tasting Hibachi I have ever had. They also has al a carte at the Tempest and a Sushi bar. Capri Italian restaurant - if you go I’d suggest the mushroom soup and the Caesar salad. My husband loved the lasagna. He also has the strip steak but it was tough. Buffet-only open one night per week, I believe it’s Friday. We went first night we got there, was just ok. Breakfast there is a decent selection. Omelet station, and a Mexican station where the outside dining is. I got a fresh tostada every day! Lunch is an average lunch buffet. I like a buffet for variety. Again, service can be spotty…once you get you drinks they sometimes don’t come back. Also, 75% of the time we had paper napkins (1 each) and not cloth. I had to keep asking for more napkins (tostadas can be messy) I’d say most days we were there they had some kind of food out by the pool. Typically starts around 1. Besides nightly entertainment they typically has something going on during the day. Pool activities..water aerobics, fashion show, music trivia, bingo, etc. the best was the kayak races in the pool! Also had tequila tasting, ceviche and guacamole making, bracelet making, etc. don’t be afraid to look at the vendors walking by on the beach. They are not overpriced. And we booked a private (8 people) catamaran to Isla Mujeres and had a wonderful time Also they have massages to the right of the beach, blue tent. They will walk around in blue shirts trying to sell massages. Warning…make sure you lick your patio door..our neighbor did not and one of those coati got in their room in the middle of the night. I think that’s most of it, tried to hit good and bad. I’d definitely come back , but not on the top of my list. Ooohh, I forgot to mention, it’s adults only! So no kids running around! Worth the visit, enjoy your stay
