Horrible! Horrible! So glad we are not going there for my daughter's wedding. Dodge a bullet.
Beyond horrible. Can't really express how bad it was. The food was raw, cold and not edible. Could not get into any of the restaurants they advertise. We were starving all week. Service is horrendous..not a five star or even 4. Rude time share people!

Not what we paid for
Booked this resort and the rooms months back with my brother SPECIFICALLY cause we were able to pick our rooms. My brother and my wife selected rooms right next to each other with all of our kids so we could be close. We get here and My brother‘s room is read, but ours isn’t. No biggie its only 11 am. Then while at my brothers room, we watch the couple in whats supposed to be our room check out! We come back by my brother’s room about an hour later and they’re in there cleaning the room. About two hours later we go to get our room and they have us in a totally different building because according to them they wanted to upgrade us because our room would have a walk theough to our children’s room! Even though our wristbands were able to get us in either room and we don’t need a connecting door. So now we’re in different buildings than the rest of our family and the best they could do is give us another room in the same building as my brother, but on the opposite side where our rooms wouldn’t be connected or next to any of our family, including our kids room. Additionally, we specifically picked third floor rooms for less of the echo in the base that tends to come with the loud music at a resort but no, we’re on the first floor and the DJs booth is pretty much right out our window which is blaring right now so probably at 9 o’clock every morning it’s just gonna be thump, thump thump! Never again will I book with Iberostar. We come to Mexico twice a year and have never had anything like this. Guess it’s back to RIU!

Bad food, bad customer service
My husband and I have been to several AI resorts throughout the Carribean and were excited to take our 3 boys (ages 14, 12, and 8) to Lindo last week for their first experience. Unfortunately we were disappointed in the resort for 2 major reasons. The first was the food. The restaurants were all very mediocre. The burgers and food on the beach were awful - like it had been sitting there for who knows how long. The buffet was also especially bad. The food that should be hot was always cold and it lacked variety-it was the same thing every single day. The only option for breakfast was the buffet and we all really disliked it. There were several days that my stomach felt off and my youngest son ended up being sick on the way home. Can't say for sure if it was the food, but it certainly is a possibility. The 2nd major reason is on our third night there we were woken up by water gushing out of a hole in the ceiling of our kids room. We were up for 2 hours in the middle of the night while waiting for maintenance to come and fix it. They also had to come back the next day to continue with repairs. While that was annoying, we understand stuff happens and weren't upset by that. What did really bother us was that no one from the hotel reached out to us to apologize or offer anything for the inconvenience. And when my husband did seek someone out to talk about it all he was offered was a "free" meal at one of the Maya restaurants. A free meal at an AI means nothing. After he refused that he was basically told they would do nothing for us. He brought it up at checkout as well and was told the same thing. We were very disappointed in how Iberostar handled that situation. If you want decent food and some customer service if anything doesn't go exactly right, don't go here.

A very solid 4.50 stars/5
A group of 9 family members took a vacation in March 2025 and stayed at the Iberostar Selection Paraiso Lindo for 7 nights. The Good: - The property itself is absolutely stunning. The atrium/main entrance is palatial and massive. So grand and clean and the foliage is professionally manicured. You could literally eat off the floor. - The rooms suited our needs just fine. Again clean and comfortable. - The buffet restaurant was excellent. A large variety of everything in fact it was better than the a la carte restaurants that we went to. We only got into two of them. The beach snack bars (two of them) were very good. The best chicken nuggets on the planet! Fries were great, chicken wings were good although the hamburgers are made ahead of time and often were only lukewarm . - The sand on the beach is the nice powder white with beautiful turquoise water. The only down fall was that there was a lot of seaweed washed up on shore. Not their fault, and they tried to manage it as best as possible. - The pools and water features were excellent our four grandsons. They had a blast in the pools and the massive waterslides and wave pool. - We experienced excellent customer service wherever we went (except as noted below). They were so friendly and helpful. The Not So Good: - As mentioned earlier, we only went to two of the a la carte restaurants. The food was marginal at best. As mentioned earlier, the buffet was much better. The resort is humungous and you have access to the other sit down restaurants at some of the other nearby Iberostar hotels. We really wanted to get into the Steak House Restaurant as we heard good things about it, and we tried multiple times, but no success. So its a disappointment seeing how many restaurants there are, but you can't get into them. There are some walkups that don't take reservations. So book first thing when you arrive! That said, while the restaurants claimed they were full, we saw several tables available but not enough staff to serve them, so what's the point? - They had a good selection of bars but you could only could get drinks at the pool bars until 6PM. Then the others opened up. The sports bar (Corners) and Lobby bar (fish tank) say they open at 6PM but their doors are open at 5PM. The bartenders there were not very friendly and the service was slow if you came in before 6PM. - For us, the resort was really too big for us. It took a long time to figure out where everything is. If you know this ahead of time, be prepared. This alone would not deter us from staying there again. Conclusion: - We recommend this resort in a heartbeat. So many good things going for it, and we would go back to it without hesitation. We are giving it a rating of 4.5 stars. If the food was better in the a la carte's and could get into them easier, it would probably be a 5 star rating.

Lindo-Star Family Suite
Room Category- Star Family Suite at Lindo. 2nd Floor. Daughter loved having her “own space” if you will with this category. Loved the hammock on the patio. Bed was comfortable and daughter said the Sofa Sleeper/Murphy bed deal she slept on was comfortable. Only complaint was being on the second floor with tile flooring we heard a lot of noise from the families all around us. Nothing malicious on their parts but it was loud. We were glad we had the iPad for a noise machine to drown this out at night. Pools and daily activities were great. Water slides were legit and wave pool was a hit. Ocean was super rough for our stay but daughter loved it. Overall easy to keep the kid entertained. People were great. Grounds were well maintained and loved all the wildlife. This place is huge. A lot of walking. We utilized the golf carts for longer distances but you definitely kick yourself when you forget this or that in the room. The towel game is very real. No avoiding it. We had good luck utilizing the tables near the wave pool bar. They were always open and had shade. Then if a lounger opened up we snagged it so the wife could get her sun. If it works for your schedule, the later you hit the pools the more likely you are to get a lounger. On the food front, we aren’t that picky. We had the buffet for most meals outside of a trip to the Hibachi place which was good. It was a huge pain to get a reservation during our week stay. Think it nets out to getting the right concierge at the right time to finally lock something in. Did not appreciate the walking back and forth, per their request, to keep checking if a slot opened. The app was of no assistance to us on this. It was frustrating. The water thing. Good for them for being green but I personally don’t like fetching my water. We had them bring an additional 2 bottles so we had 4 going for the room and made it work. Just not a fan of no bottled water personally but understand what they are doing. Overall, the “whines” are pretty minor. Had a great trip and would likely consider coming back.
